My sister and I stopped in here when we were on the way to Bryce National Park. I do have to say, this place may seem cozy, but the service and food was so good! Even though, we grabbed a bite for take out, the owners told us the food was meant to be eaten in the restaurant. They still took our orders. We had the coffee and a pulled pork sandwich. My sister and I agreed that was the best pulled pork sandwich that we have ever eaten. Coming from California with a variety of sandwiches in San Francisco, we were truly surprised. They were right, it was a bit messy, eating it in the car. But, I have to say this… sometimes take out isn’t that good, we all know that. This place was awesome! I can’t even imagine what else that I would try on this menu… this will definitely be a stop next time I’m in Utah!

Our experience here was iffy. 2.5 stars for not great quality and high prices. First of all, know the food options in this part of the world are not great, so the Unilocal reviews seemed to declare we would get lucky. But the good part was the service, not the meal. Mr. B had a Ponderosa Blue Cheese hamburger, the better meal @ $ 10.99. The bun itself came from a great bakery. And it came stacked, a large patty with bacon, blue cheese, onion, lettuce. But I should have read all the reviews first, they clearly were unable to achieve a medium rare, or even a medium temperature as asked. The only juiciness came from the nice tomato slices, not the meat. Fortunately, the flavor was ok for a griddled burger(who can deny the bacon slices helped), and we did not have the heart to return it to the kitchen. Honestly, I would have a hard time repeating even the hamburger. My Tin Horn Reuben, $ 9.99, simply was not good. The key ingredient, the meat, tasted like cheap, processed meat. Plenty of cheese and average tasting sauerkraut, placed on thick slices of rye bread, these things still could not raise the bar. And frankly, I prefer a thinly sliced rye and an even more thinly sliced meat, neither of which was the case here. I found myself dumping my leftovers, 2/3rds of the sandwich, after briefly staring glumly at it in hopes of reviving it for another meal. We both were able to switch a house salad for the french fries. A good move. The salad itself was fresh and crisp, and the salad dressing decent. And the advertised scoop of ice cream that cost a mere $ 1.49? Tempting. The brand name of ice cream(Farr’s) was unfamiliar to us but one that appeared throughout this part of the woods, and the flavor choices were pretty limited. The actual ice cream was… cold…but really, I have had better. Good enough if you«need» ice cream, but not a memorable one. The charm of this place is in the visual impression. It is woodsy inside, fun humorous signs on the wall, a smiling server, and a nice shaded outdoor patio seating as well. But we were not charmed enough to want to return.
