I’ve eaten there several times since the Friday Fish Fry debacle, so here’s another look from a different menu item. I’ve had the Rye Manhattan straight up, and it’s gooooood! I’ve ordered the Prime Rib, aka Standing Rib Roast, Hash browns, house salad, bread basket, and relish tray, $ 19.95…a very generous cut 14 – 16 ounces, good a jus. its darn good, ok delicious !! It’s a 40’s road house, huge crowds, good wait staff, and based on the longevity. «Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke!»

Worst fish fry ever! No one even came by to ask how our meal was because they already knew. … I’ll never eat that again here and I’ll sure let all family and friends know. Yuck yuck yuck!

We have been going to Weiderholts for years. The service is wonderful. We have never been served a bad meal but if you are not satisfied with your steak, etc the owners want to know and will correct the problem without hesitation. They want people to be satisfied and return. Yes, the prime rib is huge and delicious so bring a big appetite !!! Also, the bar area is fun, service great, and drinks are fabulous.

Went here last night for delicious after-dinner ice cream drinks. They do a great job on pink squirrels and the prices are just fine. I enjoy the calm clean supper club feel and décor of this place. I am going back for a full on dinner experience and I bet they will get another star once i get some meat and carbs here.

Stepping into this supper club is like taking a time machine back to a bygone era. From the exterior to the paneled walls of the dining room, it exudes a certain charm that makes you want to give he place the benefit of the doubt. Loved the fact that they had a mini(4oz) hamburger and that the French Fries($ 1.50 extra) had crinkles). So many little details like this to notice and appreciate! The staff was very friendly and treats each diner as though he or she is someone really special. One could easily imagine becoming a regular and giving the server a knowing smile and requesting«the usual». Very sweet place that is fun to experience and that has great food too!

For over 30 years, my husband and I have driven past Wiederholt’s Supper Club on our way to and from Wis. We decided to try it last weekend. We couldn’t have been more pleased. We both had the prime rib which was succulent! The service was wonderful. The atmosphere reminded us of the«supper clubs» we went to years ago, and that was the part we loved the most!!! It was«homey», friendly, yet cozy. We have had amazing meals all over the U.S. as well as Europe. I would put this food up to the top of many of those meals. The price matched the quality. We are going back tonight to try something else there, and we both look forward to it. Thank you, Wiederholt’s for maintaining the quality of what a «real supper club» should be.

Excellent food and service. We all had the«small» prime rib. I think we all brought home another meal or two each, easy. One of the best prime rib meals I’ve had in recent years.

This place is what a supper club should be. Its been 20years since I was here last. Jest like I remember. The waitress was very nice, the food was great, you get a salad, dinner roll and vegetables. Had the prime rib it was perfect, wife had a stake with shrimp. I can tell you that It will not take me 20years to come back. Well worth the drive into the county side.

Good food & service… the walleye i got was fresh although nothing to write home about. It’s kinda dim in the restaurant, but the meal & atmosphere were both satifactory. Didn’t try the prime rib everyone raves about, so perhaps next time.

Want an old time supper club? Weiderholts is your destination! If you want great food-go to this always busy place where the locals go. Check out the specials every night. Friendly personal service in the bar and restaurant. Steaks worth driving to. Only thing missing is the organist-which is a good thing!

I’d say quality of the food is on par with the quality at Old Country Buffet and priced 200% higher. The prime rib and steaks have an oddly cloying taste like old thawed out beef. 1⁄3 of the prime rib was pure fat. The waitress was nice and asked us if we wanted a box for what was left on the plate, and then looked down and realized this was a chunk of beef fat the size of a deck of cards. I did enjoy my lobster tail but otherwise this place is disappointing. I was hoping it was the stellar restaurant that some of the glowing reviews illustrated but it was more accurately portrayed by the glib reviews. Some advice – the best prime rib is at Hazellewood Grill. Not here. Not by a long shot.

If you want a throwback supper club meal, here’s the place. Classic good food as evidenced by it being packed on Friday and Saturday nights. Prime rib is great as are many other entrees. Great service and family operated for years so they have pride in what they do. Décor and age are a bit off putting and humorous to the younger crowd. I love to go here to feel young since there are times we are the youngest folks there, and we are 60. Want to see America as it once was, and have some great food, here you go.

Wiederholt’s gets generally good reviews; I’ve visited on a few occasions over the years and remember the experiences to be enjoyable and worthy of a repeat visit. Tonight, made us think it’s ripe for a Robert Irvine intervention… It was date night and I thought my GF would appreciate the small town supper club experience — décor that appears to have not been updated since the Carter administration, sticky oilcloth tablecloths, congenial service, and great food. The bartender greeted us warmly and we had a good feeling as we were led to a table. We decided to split the nightly special BBQ ribs and the server immediately said it’s $ 3 to split a plate. Does that include an extra salad or potato or something? Nope, just another plate but it does come with extra items on our signature relish tray and an extra bun. The«signature relish tray» consisted of 2 carrot sticks, 2.5 celery sticks. 2 green olives, and 2 black olives. Wow. My chicken soup was coolish and had bones in it. My GF’s salad was dry from the bag iceberg lettuce with a cucumber slice and a grape tomato. She ordered blue cheese dressing and it came with some extra blue cheese! Yum! We were the only folks in the dining room still be served and were amazed that 3 servers chattered away while our dinner and $ 3 plate languished under the lights for 5 minutes… It’s been our experience that when we we order a split plate the cook does the splitting in the kitchen. But here, we just got an extra plate and we had to do the rib and potato dividing. The ribs, priced at $ 18 I think, were described in the menu as meaty and lean. Our pig must have been in the final throes of anorexia when he deliriously wandered into the Wiederholt’s kitchen. The only meat was pretty much between the bones and there wasn’t a lot. The sauce tasted mostly like catsup thinned with a little orange juice and apple cider vinegar. It didn’t taste bad but wasn’t good either… The only time our server showed a spark of congeniality was when she dropped off the check. We figured she was new but that wasn’t the case…
Judging from the pics, we should have ordered the prime rib…

I am not a fan of prime rib but after hearing about this place from some friends we decided to check it out! Great old school scene and atmosphere! Hands down best prime rib we ever had very flavorful and worth the drive! We will return to this hidden gem!

After reading other reviews, I had to give Wiederholt’s a try. I like the«old school» supper club atmosphere and the fact that the same family has owned the place since 1932. The food is what you would expect from a supper club from the 60’s– steaks, seafood(they even have frog legs), and my favorite, prime rib. I liked the relish tray, reminded me of restaurants years ago that served them as part of the meal for free. If you are expecting fancy sauces and presentations, this may not be the place for you. If you like old time atomsphere and the vintage supper club great food, you have to give Wiederholt’s a try. When the waitress took my order, I asked for a huge piece of prime rib. Little did I know what they would bring me. The prime rib they set in front of me was the biggest serving I have ever had-comically so-we all laughed when we saw how large it was. The waiteress asked several times in passing if I was really going to eat the whole thing(not possible-I had three large meals out of it). Wiederholt’s – I love you. Look at the photo of my prime rib-awesome. I shall return.

This place is not worth the high price. Salads are out of a bag and very dry. I got a ¼ white chicken and it had absolutely no seasoning or flavor and was so dry. The service was so slow. If you have no place to be, aren’t in a hurry and like your food bland and dry this place is for you.

A still very successful supper club which is renown for great food, wonderful service, kick in the tail drinks and an interesting décor. I’ve been eating at Wiederholt’s since I was ten years old and never had a bad meal under their low ceiling and ‘70s mood lighting. The very best Wiederholts story I’ve heard: when Nirvana were at Pachyderm Studio in Cannon Falls(recording In Utero) they ate at Wiederholts a few times and always were blissfully amazed that a massive dinner for six, drinks and tip outing only cost them like $ 112.

This place has been here forever and is well known to the locals for it’s steaks and Friday night fish fry. Reservations are strongly recommended if not required for weekends.

Some friends turned us on to this supper club in the middle of nowhere. But becuase it is out in the sticks doesn’t mean that it’s not well know. The great thing about Wiederholts SC is that the food is a great value, the relish tray is free, and the band still plays pretty early so you can dance after dinner. It’s family owned, and the 70+ years of ownership pride shows all over. I love the light sconces, right out of the 1960s and the laminate rock tables in the bar plus the big letters on the outside of the building. I’ve had prime rib and the ribs and shrimp combo and it’s all good. the only complaint, and I mean only amd the bar is high with all my Sconnie Supper Club experience, is that they do not have a Roquefort or bleu cheese dressing(they have a blended french Roquefort).
