Charlton Park is the gem of Barry County that Barry County doesn’t really know what to do with. It’s a cool little place, and it has gotten a lot more active in recent years, but it never seems to have a whole lot going on… that being said, it’s a really cool place to go for a picnic or just o wander through the old buildings and take a step back into Barry County of yesteryear All the buildings come from different places in Barry County and have historical significance. They have been restored and have curated displays and interpretive explanations In the summer there are cool events here like old fashioned 4th of July and Civil War reenactments. In the winter they have a cool old time Christmas and there are numerous car shows and flea markets throughout the year as well Take a trip and enjoy it. The beach isn’t that great for swimming since Thornapple Lake is really just a wide spot in the river, but the fishing can be enjoyable
