My favorite Hastings on Hudson restaurant. Usually enjoy home delivery; when I go in person is a wonderful experience!

This is the only place I will order sushi delivery from. They are always so kind, quick, and accommodating. I have some dietary restrictions and it’s never a problem there. The food is so fresh and delicious. I’ve tried other sushi delivery places around where I live and now this is the only place for me!

Great sushi, great place, amazing staff. It may sound odd, but they truly make you feel like your their favorite customer every time you walk in. I highly recommend the diamond roll, it’s absolutely amazing and will keep me coming back! Portions and prices are more than fair, and even some of their amazing speciality rolls can be purchased for 10 $, an unusual trait for specialty sushi.

OMG this place is amazing. I tried their lunch special and have been hooked. Every time I go their food is spot on and fresh and portions are decent sizes. Great place to go for lunch or dinner.

Everyone has a favorite neighborhood sushi place and this is mine. I’ve never dined on-site but have ordered delivery dozens of times. Delivery is prompt(the guy on the phone is a trip) and well-packaged. I really enjoy the sashimi, the vegetarian rolls, asparagus with beef appetizer, and hibachi noodles. When I need a raw fish fix, this is the place.

I want this place to be better; flavor is usually good, but quality control isn’t. Recently, we went in & ordered take-out. It took well over 30 minutes. All the rolls were rolled so loosely that fillings fell out when we dipped them in sauce. Spicy Girl roll was missing avocado, so the texture was way off. Edamame was mushy. I resent paying extra for brown rice in a roll and for an extra sauce. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I hope things improve.

I’ve been to many Japanese/Hibachi restaurants and this one is just average. Due to its location, the prices are high which doesn’t justify anything being that the portions are very small. If you work around town and are looking for decent food at a high price while trying to watch your diet, this is the place for you. One day I decided to order take out to give it a try since I haven’t ordered from them since they first opened. I ordered chicken teriyaki with two sides which came out to $ 21.48. I have no problem paying a little more than average for any meal if the food is worth it, but I feel taken advantage of when the portions are small, the food is average, and the prices are above average. I called the restaurant and spoke directly to Tony who is the owner in order to voice my concerns regarding the small portions at a somewhat higher than normal cost. I was surprised when he said«I’ll let the chef know«and didn’t seem to really care about my opinion which was bothersome. I will say that I have heard nothing but great things about the food and portions when actually sitting down in the restaurant to eat. That being said, I would only suggest eating in the restaurant and not ordering takeout. If you don’t mind a little driving, Banzai in Hartsdale or Little Buddha at ridge hill in Yonkers are much better options.

The sushi is amazing and the chefs are so cute! However, sometimes the waitresses check on you too frequently which makes it difficult to enjoy your meal.

Had a bunch of rolls and sushi pieces. It was okay, good portions at decent prices but I counted 13 black fruit flies resting on the walls around our booth and 2 house flies buzzing around the restaurant. I won’t be back.

I had a great lunch today. Right in the heart of town, love the energy and location. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable and the wait staff is accommodating and pleasant… they even charged my phone for me(I had to take pictures of my food y’know)…which was delicious. My cousin and I started off with the edamame and the sautéed broccoli with garlic sauce. The edamame was delicious, slightly under-salted but I suppose it’s better to add your own salt anyway, for those who need to watch their blood pressure. The sautéed broccoli was great as well! Very flavorful, perfectly cooked and seasoned… it really got me looking forward to the main meal. My cousin ordered the chicken teriyaki which looked delicious… but I was occupied with my entrée — the seafood roll, which was a fried shrimp and crab roll with spicy mayo… I’m not a sushi lover simply because I haven’t tried much of it, I get a little paranoid thinking about eating raw fish but since mine was cooked I was more than happy to inhale it. Wow it was delicious, fresh and perfectly cooked/seasoned…all of that for around $ 22 a person made me happy and I’ll definitely be back. We didn’t take advantage of the Unilocal offer for a free bottle of hot saki with a dine-in meal of $ 30 or more, but maybe next time.

This place has become an increasingly regular destination for my family since it opened a couple of years ago. We’ve tried every sushi place in the Rivertowns of Westchester County and Sakura Garden is consistently excellent. The all-important sushi rice is always cooked and seasoned perfectly. The fish always tastes very fresh(I typically order the uni, which is a good indicator of freshness). And the staff people are among the friendliest, most attentive, and most efficient that I’ve ever encountered. They often offer a bowl of complimentary edamame, which is a nice bonus. It’s also very conveniently located in the«downtown» portion of Hastings. There are coin-metered parking lots in the back(entrances to the lot are to the south on Warburton or around the corner on Spring Street) and across the street(entrance on Main Street, near Warburton). There’s also parking on the street. And it’s a two-minute walk from the Hastings-on-Hudson MetroNorth Train Station(via the West Main Street stairway). The atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxed. It’s a great place for kids. And it’s very reasonably priced, which is another reason why we’ve become regulars.

Ok… This is NOT. NOT Japanese FOOD! There is so much better places to to go for Japanese Food in the area. I know people like it because it’s the only Japaneses places in Town. But I’ll give you this The service is very friendly, attentive, and quick. IF you are looking for true«Japanese Cuisine» this is not the place. Japanese food made for people who don’t know about Japanese Food.

Came here yesterday for lunch and was very pleased. The service is very friendly, attentive, and quick. The waitress suggested the Angry Dragon Roll special and it was so delicious: spicy tuna topped with lobster salad and shrimp tempura. We also had the lunch box special, chicken katsu and chicken teriyaki. The chicken katsu was so moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The shrimp shumai and California rolls are great. The soup and salad were also good. I was happy to see a salad that was not just white iceberg lettuce. My husband originally ordered the salmon teriyaki but the waitress made a mistake. She was apologetic and he said it was tasty so it wasn’t a problem. Overall, everything was fresh and delicious. I’d definitely come back to try more!

Great Japanese food offering all the usual and more in small little Hastings-on-Hudson. Try a side of udon noodles or the tempura California roll. MMMM M! Friendly staff, warm dining room and a huge menu. Great prices also. A lunch for two of us with appetizer and two items each plus a couple of drinks was only $ 26. Love it.

Hastings is a tiny village that has been desperately in need of a good Japanese restaurant. Now it has one. Sakura serves up affordable basics with flair. I was won over by the pleasant colors of the small dining room and the efforts to stylize the food. The portions aren’t huge. But two of had a perfectly nice dinner for $ 34 pre-tax and pre-tip. Our appetizers were in the $ 4-$ 6 range. The smallish rolls were $ 4 and $ 5. There was a $ 2 charge for the miso soup and for each of our Shirley Temples. We enjoyed it all and can recommend: agetofu, salmon skin seaweed salad, california roll, the tempura fried california roll, yellowtail roll and the soup. We’ll be back!
