I contacted Bowerman to install a new Sears Craftsman garage door opener I purchased. When the installer arrived he tells me they only install garage door openers they sell. He calls his supervisor(the owner I presume) only to deny our conversation they would install the Sears opener. Instead the installer talked me into repairing the existing opener, charged me $ 80 and I returned the Sears opener to the store. Two months later the original opener is broken again. Frankly I believe the installer was lazy because it was a cold day and didn’t want to do a big job. This time I went with the Sears Craftsman garage opener like I should have and had Sears install it as well. Doing so gave me peace of mind and an extended warranty was even included.

don’t let the physical layout of this store mislead you because bowerman stocks every overhead garage door & opener part, apparently ever made you want to attempt a repair yourself and have a partial idea of the troubling component, come in and get some hands-on know-how here that’ll pinpoint suspect problem and relieve all head-scratching i’ve used them on genie & chamberlain doors i’ve had. not to give them any ideas but w/o bowerman i would have little recourse location tucked in the corner of a mini-streetside strip mall with a smidgen of off-street parking. i’d’ve given them all 5* but sometimes he closes spontaneously to my disappointment, so call first
