By far the best ice cream I’ve ever had! Especially the hot fudge sundae

Pretty good ice cream. Got the ice cream sundae which was good. Prices are reasonable, and service was good. We asked for extra fudge and the scooper obliged. Would return

Schoolhouse ice cream is my favorite ice cream spot on the cape. Ive also been to Sundae School, Short & Sweet, Buffys, and emack and bolios, and while all are great spots to get ice cream/frozen yogurt, Schoolhouse is the best. Summary(on a scale of 1 to 5 stars): Food: 5 stars Drinks: n/a Atmosphere: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Price: 4 stars Food: I personally really like their frozen yogurt(it’s hard, just like ice cream, not the soft serve stuff). They’re froyo is so creamy you’d never know it wasn’t ice cream. I got a scoop of coffee heath bar yogurt and a scoop of chocolate cake yogurt in a waffle cones with jimmies(aka chocolate sprinkles). What a treat!!! Yes, it was big– one scoop would be plenty, but I was in the treat-yo-self mindset so I went big. Others I was with got Irish coffee, harwich mud pie, and mint chocolate chip. All were enjoyed and resulted in smiling faces. Atmosphere: The place itself is cute, from the chalkboard menus written in colorful chalk to the picnic tables with umbrellas, it’s a great outdoor spot to go with family, friends, and even the dog! Service: The girls behind the counter were friendly and fast. It is on the busy main street, but we still safely road bikes there. I’d recommend driving though. Price: Yes, it’s more money than ice cream in the grocery store, but it’s also really really good! And it’s the experience of going out for ice cream with your family/friends, everyone ordering whichever kind of super-cool flavor that they want, and sitting in the sunshine enjoying the day :) A must visit when on the cape!

Pretty much everything you could like about an ice cream shop. Huge portions, reasonable prices, excellent ice cream with a large selection from classics to the more inventive. Are we talking rhubarb crumble with toasted anise, or mint with sea urchin(Salt & Straw, Portland, OR)? Or the nuts of wrath at Ice & Vice in NYC? No, but they have some things up their sleeves at the Schoolhouse. No disappointments. Also, there’s another shop down the street with a very similar name that we didn’t try — so don’t get them mixed up!

Very good ice cream! Huge portions! The peppermint stick ice cream was great! Not enough places serve this so it was nice to see it on the menu! Small parking lot but there is parking on the side streets!

This institution lies about its hours on its website. The website says it closes at 10:30 and I arrived at 10:15 and they were closed. I do not tolerate dishonesty and will thus never try to go to this place again and I hope that it shuts down. What a disgusting place. It obviously lacks any pride or care for humanity.

So far my fave ice cream on the cape. Harwich mudpie rocks. The portions are super generous. A kiddie is plenty for an adult :)

Best. Ice cream. Ever. Better than Sundae School. Portions are generous and the ice cream is delicious. First class!

We boycotted Sunday School when we found schoolhouse! Ridiculous sized portions — kiddy size is probably a pint. Don’t miss the triple whammy chocolate, Brady bunch crunch and I forgot the name but think it was cherry decadence. Guaranteed that these bowling ball sized scoops will melt all over you when you sit on the patio so grab plenty of napkins and see if you can plow your way through!!!

Good ice cream, hi prices and small portions, very small sundae, littlest toppings, $ 7.25 plus 7% TAX

This is the best ice cream shop on Cape Cod. Unlike most ice cream shops that give you small portions for big dollars the Schoolhouse gives you large portions for fair dollars. A must!

Terrible!!! Everything tastes like dirty water! Bunch of teenagers working who know nothing! Go down the road and get some amazing ice cream at sundae school!

The ratings are all true with Schoolhouse Ice Cream. This store gives you large servings of delicious ice cream. I am not normally an ice cream fan, but Schoolhouse won me over with their Irish Whiskey Coffee Ice Cream. Their waffle cones are equally as delicious and their prices are what you would expect to pay for the large serving of ice cream you receive.

Great ice cream, horrible prices. I understand that it’s the Cape, so you can charge whatever you want and get away with it, but dang! $ 17.50 for 3 people to go out for ice cream. I believe a strawberry frappé(one size) was $ 6.50, which seems a bit crazy if you ask me. I had a sundae with coffee ice cream. Pretty good, but nothing extra special I’d say. Lacked a little fudge. Overall, the prices were too high and they were out of a lot of flavors.

Good ice cream, but there will be long lines, limited parking, and they don’t accept credit cards. That last part baffles me, because even food trucks take credit cards these days. I ended up not going back because I didn’t feel like going to an ATM just for this place.

Hands down, the best ice cream on Cape Cod. Cape Cod Creamery coming in 2nd. Epic portions, reasonable prices and it’s legitimate homemade ice cream. The whole family shares my sentiments.

Made a Mid-afternoon ice cream stop at the school house, and what a treat it was. I’ve never seen a selection of ice cream so lengthy… and from it, I chose a frozen yogurt flavor that was good… moose tracks. Prices were fair, and service was good. Owners chatted inupmwith us while we ate inside. Building itself is awesome to take in… neat atmosphere. And cyclists, it backs up to the rail trail… perfect stop while riding. Very cool establishment, Chatham… enjoy!
