Jonathans

This place continues to get better and better. The food is consistently very good, cocktails have always been creative, and the desserts are killer. I’ve also caught live music a few times; not sure if that’s a regular thing or not, but it was definitely worthwhile.

We had an amazing time relaxing at this lakeside restaurant. The upstairs had live music, the downstairs was a bit more quiet. We ordered this weeks special which was a Caesar with a Ny strip in a fantastic pesto. Also ordered Bruschetta and caprese salad for appetizers, that were both delicious!

Food was ok. Crab bisque and lobster chowder were great. Bolognese was creamy and sweet over egg noodles… Different to say the least. Also got the veal special that was decent. To my surprise when the bill came the veal was $ 52. Double anything else on the menu! Not worth the price!

This place became a family favorite last year and we tried out their new menu a few days ago. With their new chef, the updated menu has become even more creative. Wow! Everything was cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. There wasn’t one dish we weren’t thrilled about. The restaurant is fairly upscale, yet can still cater to more casual guests. The portion size is large enough that we took our leftovers home (but I think i just did it so I could eat the same meal again!). I had the crab stuffed flounder, (I think) and loved it! They have a wine selection both international and local. (Am I the only one who didn’t know there were wines from Wilkes-​Barre, Pa?)
The waitstaff is always friendly and takes good care of their guests.
If you don’t want a meal at a table, there is also a classy long bar to sit at. If you are looking for something more casual, upstairs there is another bar with tiki torches and you can sit out on the balcony. I’m looking forward to bringing more people to experience Jonathan’s this summer! :)

Was at Jonathan’s Thursday evening with family. Wonderful experience from ‘start to finish’! We all had an assortment of menu based items and specials — apps were fantastic would highly recommend Salmon Three Ways or the Puffed Stuffed Pastry Shell /​dressing on the Jonathan’s Salad was worth the trip by itself /​I had the Prime Rib special — temperature was perfect — flavor was great — price very reasonable /​the Blueberry Cobbler for dessert was exceptional. Highlights: food, atmosphere, the wait staff was very attentive. Congratulations on you new Executive Chef — game changer!

Enjoyed the wonderfully prepared food at the restaurant on the main floor at Jonathan’s. Our waiter was wonderful. We will defintiely return!
We would encourage management to ramp up the music play list however. The Frank Sinatra era music got a bit tiring – just mix it up with some cool jazz to help the environment sound a bit more current.
