I use to love going here when they were in the big red barn. Now since they moved, it’s simply too small. I loved being able to roam around that big area but now you can’t. The bad thing is that they did this because toilet paper and soap is free? That’s what one of the employees said. Pretty sad. Now there isn’t even half the amount of space that they use to have… which means half the inventory… and half the sales I would assume. Oh, and please, everyone can take an old item and spray paint it. That doesn’t mean we want to see 9 items painted the same color for sale…

I enjoy Twice is Nice, especially for their home décor items and extensive book selection(I often lose track of time in their back room, just browsing the books). My only complaint is the slow checkout process. The last two times I’ve been in, there have been either limited staff handling the registers, or computer/credit card machine issues. They were very apologetic, but it was quite frustrating waiting over 30 minutes to check out.

Have shopped Twice Is Nice before Rose bought it. It started in a very interesting old house just east and on the other side of 619. There were lots of nooks and crannies there with a real kitchen to show the household items. Coffee was always on and offered. The thing that rates only 2 stars and I was generous, is the ceiling of the entry room hangs many cheap, FAKE«designer» handbags. It is illegal not only to sell them, but to even own them. Made by children working for pennies or a small bowl of rice in Asian sweatshops, the proceeds support terrorism here and abroad. For this reason, I cannot support Twice Is Nice.

I am both a shopper and consignor. As a shopper, I really like the store and can often find household and decorative items that I will buy. Consignors get an extra 10% off. Also good are the beauty items. I don’t often buy clothes here but only because I rarely buy them anywhere. I did get a beautiful suede jacket here last winter, though. Prices are competitive and they do mark down items. As a consignor, though, things are a little different. In my experience, home décor and almost new shoes and bags sell quickly. Pricing here is fair(I think the split is 60 – 40) I sold a perfect condition iron bed that was only 8 years old and reaped only $ 8(the buyer also used her consignor discount for an extra 10%) I was disappointed but I do trust the owner to price what she thinks is fair. Other items have gone for more than I thought they would. I don’t buy a lot of clothes but my college age daughters do and I resell them. I do mostly Ebay as I do better there. The staff here is polite but not overly friendly. Sometimes I chuckle at the things they don’t take because I know what they originally cost. But they know their clientele better than I do.

Stopped in today for the first time. The overwhelming smell of burning candles just about knocked me out but i kept going. Huge selection of clothes, household, etc items. I overheard 2 women complaining about the overwhelming odor. I found a nice shirt for my husband and would have loved to continue poking around, but was developing a headache and my asthma was starting to bother me, too. When I checked out I asked the gal if they always burned candles, She said yes. I asked if they were always so heavily fragranced. She said yes. I mentioned that I wanted to shop more but was very bothered by the heavy fragrance and she just shrugged. What a shame. I may try this again, but I doubt it. Update: owner emailed me to tell me that she had asthma too and the candles don’t bother her. Well goody for you. I thought a good, constructive critique might help. Apparently if she’s not bothered, than no one else should be either. Sheesh!
