The chicken fried steak is amazing. Service was ok. If seemed like out waitress was much more attentive to regulars. It was busy but he got two refills while we were empty and eventually asked a different lady for coffee. I would definitely go back.

M. A local favorite before we walked in I knew we had found a jewel. The food was prepared well and the atmosphere was charming. The lighting was a bit much for 7 am but it gave the place a bright clean feel. Not disappointed when ordering the homemade corned beef hash its never seen the inside of a tin can. The shredded potatoes were never frozen and the coffee was not muddy. Now if I can get D to stop talking so much my morning may be perfect. D, Me the yacker… right! :) Yes! you can«Meet me at Irene’s» for breakfast any day. It was a bit of a drive for me but well worth it. I enjoyed the meal, even the rye toast. There was something real about it. Only thing would be that I ordered eggs over easy and got eggs closer to over medium, but the yoke was still runny and creamy which is what I am really wanting. Yup! you got it. The eggs weren’t over cooked on the first side(the bottom) like eggs typically are done therefore still rich and creamy. I had their home fries which were very tasty. The corned beef tasted like corned beef, not barbacoa. I took a peek in the kitchen. I saw it clean and organized. It cost a dollar or two more than what I have paid for a breakfast at other places, but at $ 11 and some change it was well worth it.

I’ve only ever been here for breakfast, but I love it! I always struggle between picking the pecan crusted french toast(which for the record is the best french toast I’ve EVER had!!) or the country fried steak. Their bacon is out of this world! It’s so good! The only downfall, is on the weekends, they are definitely busy, and we usually end up getting the same server, she’s a younger girl. she’s never been pleasant or prompt. Actually, every time we’ve had her, she seems like she’s hungover and has no desire to be there. Regardless, we keep coming back because the food is delicious.

This was a great breakfast with a huge amount of food. I ordered the kitchen sink and it was a great combination of all breakfast things I love. If you go on the weekend, be prepared to be there for a bit-it is worth the wait.

Irene’s, is a place we frequent when we can. I’ve never had something I didn’t like. From their fabulous breakfast, and quite possibly the best pancakes I’ve ever had. To great lunch specials everyday. I’ve had their salads, which are huge, and fantastic. It’s such a great small town diner! I saved the best for last… The people! The co-owners and family that run the restaurant are such good people. Make me smile every time I’m in there! Go try it for yourself!

Quant little shop. Plenty of parking just North of 619. Seating is good. A good selection of food to choose from. I’m looking forward to the Hash and eggs.

Ok, so really I give the place 4.5 stars, but Unilocal has Apparently blocked all the 5 star reviews as non recommended, so I’m giving it a 3 star just so my voice is heard. Maybe it was just my burger and my luck, but BBQ burger was amazing, as in, one of the best burgers I may have had my entire short life. This is my new favorite place to eat in hartville, at least for this type of food(Carlos’s is great for italian, swensons for take out, Mexican and Asian up in the air). Service was above average, waitress may have not waited on my hand and foot, but it was packed, our orders were taken quickly, and the food was delivered within 15 – 20 minutes, nothing too long. Drinks were refilled once, and fairly quickly, so service was quick. As for the kindness of the servers, it was like I was being served by my grandmother, not the dead one, but the one that is full of love and life. In fact, it was so nice, it was borderline creepy. Not sure if they knew one couple or not, but they were fawning over their child and teaching him how to open his straw the right way so he could shoot the paper end with a puff of air. As some may have said earlier that they were restaurant owners, I am not. But I have been in a lot of restaurants, and I know good service from bad, this was above average at worst. The food was well done, but a little greasy, for those in the area, kind of reminded me of a swensons burger, heated buns but greasy nonetheless. Personally, I love that(though my arteries may not) and it may be what gives it the great taste. The fries were a little soggy though, so that is a fraction of a negative. All in all, the service was above average(they were polite and quick) and the food was amazing. Not saying your experience will be the same, but i will be returning next weekend.

I love the food here but service today was… Meh. Like I said in my check in– the little hostess was very pleasant and sweet. The waitress however might have been having a bad day??? I think that if your not a local you don’t get the same treatment??. Which is sad. Customer service is key. Being a restaurant owner myself– I know the value of treating ppl right. And I’ve been in the service industry for over 20 years and making tips for some is a way of life. I really wanted to give the little hostess my tip today. Y’all really should be friendly to outsiders– for I believe– THAT is your true personality. Not the one you show to regulars. It’s such a shame to be treated like that. We didn’t merit that kind of behavior. And the little dark haired hostess did most of the work while we were there. Irene … Or whomever. Better have a talk with your employees. I’m originally from the area and my parents have a farm in Randolph. However —Their are a lot of tourists in the summer time and I for one would have tipped way better… Sadly, This makes me not want to make the trip from Cuyahoga Falls anymore. We will see. ;)

I would give negative stars if were possible. If you are looking for a decent place for breakfast, RUN, do not walk from this place. I walked in at 10AM and waited patiently to be seated. I would have settled for a greeting or even a glance over that I was even here. I was totally ignored for over 10 minutes and it was not busy. I then walked out.

Meh. I’ve been here a couple times when I was getting my car worked on at Terry’s, but it’s nothing to write home about. Cold in the winter(lineoleum tile floor). Décor is small town café, so don’t expect much. Seems like a popular spot with local workers, and prices were what brought me back. If I wanted a nice place to enjoy a meal with my wife I’d go elsewhere. If I wanted a quick bite while passing through, it would work fine. 10/10/2012 Robin, I’ll try again. It’s been a long time since I’ve been there. Thanks for the reply.

My friends and I decided to try a different breakfast place in Hartville and I have to say that I will probably stick with my usual breakfast at the Frontier. Nothing really stuck out at this place. Food was decent. I ordered a 3 egg cheese omelette with wheat toast. I love melted cheese on my eggs and they did a good job of making sure the eggs were cheesy enough. The toast was not so great because they burned two of the pieces. Service was below average. We beat the morning rush, but it didn’t matter because it still seemed as though our food didn’t come out very quickly. I finished my 1 glass of water about halfway through the meal and never was offered a refill. They refilled my friend’s coffee a few times but never paid attention to the empty glass. It’s an okay restaurant but I doubt I’ll return too often.

This place is busy on Sunday mornings but we luckily got there before the 10AM rush. They serve Breakfast all day which is great to see. This place is your basic small town restaurant. I didn’t see or taste anything that sets it above the rest. Hartville has a few of these and this does not beat out the Frontier in my opinion. The restaurant has an interesting name that I think tries to make it sound like a hang-out spot. The Food: I ordered 2 Buttermilk Pancakes(2.99) with an egg(.99) on the side. The pancakes were nice and fluffy with a slight buttermilk flavor. They use Butterworth’s syrup which actually has nice flavor. I usually only use real Maple Syrup so this was a change for me. A friend of mine for bacon which looked like good quality stuff. It is more chewy than crunchy and looks like the real bacon not the the cheap stuff that a lot of places give. One of the guys’ toast was a little burnt but other then that we were all pleased with food. The coffee is so-so, better than McDonalds but not my French Press. My dad enjoys the omelet here but it says it doesn’t stand out as a great omelet. Service: The place was busy, but it still seemed to take them a little bit. Refills for coffee and water seemed a little slow. The server really didn’t check on us. This is one of those places that put the check down after you get your food and you take it to the counter to pay. I like these places but sometimes after the check is lain down then they forget about you.
