Just moved to the area and decided to check them out. Bland, expensive pizza. I just ordered from Dominos tonight and it was a lot better than Poad’s Pizza.

horrible horrible horrible!!! owner is very unprofessional and rude when a customers order is wrong, he will tell you that your basically full if sh*t instead of being professional and apologize for the kitchen and try to work on rectifying the problem!!! not the first time my order was screwed up, my fault for keep going back i guess… be aware people of what kind of person you are dealing with if your the next victim!

My family is a huge fan of the broasted chicken. I, personally, prefer the pulled pork sandwich. Delicious pulled pork wedged between cheesy garlic bread. YUM! We’ve had the pizza once. It was good — if you’re like me and have greasy pizza as your own personal vice — but pricey.

The pizza was ok, nothing that I would go out of my way for. A previous review of «average is spot on». The dining area is small, dark and dated. The broasted chicken was quite tasty. Quite a bit of the menu is fried food and on at least two occasions I have gone in the place smells strongly of burning cooking oil(the fryer temps are too high) which in turn affects the quality and flavor profile of the fried foods. Not to mention the strong order in the restaurant. I’d go back again for chicken(take out). For 3 star pizza, I would order here. I would however look outside of Hartford for 4 or 5 star options.

I grew up in Hartford and my family has been ordering from Poads for over 10 years. Great Pizza & Broasted Chicken.

Poad’s is such a great local pizza place. They have been around forever, and have survived, even with, the hoards of other pizza places that have popped up in Hartford over the years. The building and the interior isn’t as flashy as some of the newer chains, but don’t let that worry you. Generally, most people seem to do delivery or carry-out, but they do have a small dining area. I’ve always been impressed with how friendly the staff is there. Definitely get the pizza. It has a great thin, crunchy, crust. I love the SMO(sausage, mushroom, and onion). It has simple, traditional, pizza toppings that taste great. They do have other items on the menu, but I can’t pass up the pizza when we get dinner there. If you are in town and want a great pizza, skip the chains, and give Poad’s a try.
