My wife is Colombian and we have been to almost all these type restaurants in the Hartford area. I love the food and the people there. The pet is a great person she always has a smile for you. We have eaten there many times. You have to realize is is a TRUE Colombian place. This is where people from Colombia go to eat with their families and friends. This is a small place with a lot of people. But Well Worth the Waiting. For all off the food. So if you want to try REALLYWELLPREPAREDFOOD. I really recommend going. You won’t be disappointed.

This place was the most dirtiest restaurant I have ever been too. The prices are too expensive. There was dust on the pictures and fixtures and spider webs on the walls. The waitress was rude and the dishes were dirty. There were three people in the restaurant and we had to wait 30 minutes for appetizers. The appetizers were room temperature. We left and will not be back. Do not go to this restaurant. Gross!

I can only write a review about service. We didn’t get to try the food. The waitress took orders from two other tables before finally acknowledging we were there(we were there before her other guests). We finally got to place an order. We ordered empanadas as an appetizer. We got water — and that was it. Everyone else who came in after us, were being served empanadas. I couldn’t believe it. After waiting 30 minutes, I finally got up to ask why we weren’t being served and I was told they were busy(plenty of empty tables around us) and it would take another 7 minutes. Ha! Waitress comes back out of kitchen with a plate of empanadas for a table that had arrived way after us. That was the final straw. We left. I find this experience unacceptable. The waitresses did not apologize or try to keep our business. I guess this establishment likes to pick and choose who their customers are.

So disappointed after coming here after hearing so many good things. It was 80 degrees and no doors or windows were open. The servers were horrible, they literally ignored you after you sit and walk past you back and forth. When we finally ordered they brought drinks but we had to ask for water three times and wait 10 more minutes to get it. Then the food. The empanadas are not all they look cracked up to be by prior reviews. They have a unique corn shell that is deep fried and the inside mashed potato and only a few shreds of meat. Not impressed at all. The steak had no flavor and the app we ordered with meat on plantain was in a pepper and tomato sauce and it was ok

We waited over 15 minutes just to place a drink order and that’s because my friend went to get a waitress. When they finally took our food order, over 45minutes passed and still NO food! so we decided to just go. Absolutely ridiculous.

OMG! What a disastrous visit it was at Parrilla. We went to Parrilla for a birthday lunch on a Sunday. The waitress who was taking care of us did not have ANY clue of what was available in the restaurant. As we placed our orders, she would take our order, go to the kitchen and come back telling it is not available. I ordered for a Sangria and the waitress came back telling the bartender is not available, then ordered for a Stella and she comes back saying that’s not available too. Then we order for the food, my friend ordered for a rotisserie chicken and the waitress came back again telling us the machine is not working. We were so frustrated and wanted to just get done with the plan. It did not stop with that. After we finished and asked for the check, the waitress comes back telling us the credit card machine is not working and we will have to pay by cash. Shouldn’t we have been told about this before we started placing our order? O.M.G it was a bad day for lunch at here and I AMNEVER going to go back.

There are several Colombian restaurants in the Hartford area and I feel this is the best and most authentic by far. The empanadas are fantastic. The bandeja paisa is what you should order if you want a true sample of Colombian cooking. The service is always friendly(although sometimes a bit rather slow). I’ve never eaten a meal here that I didn’t love. In fact, sometimes it was even better than some spots I’ve eaten at in Colombia.

It’s hit or miss at Parrilla y Sabores for me they have quite a large south american(Colombian?) food menu to pick from! I had dinner there one night with my hubby and ordered a steak with seafood sauce! Simply stated it was one of the best meals we’ve ever eaten — scrumpdelicious!!! just one order was plenty for us to share and the price verrrry reasonable. THEIREMPANADAS??? TODIEFOR!!! and their waitresses— over the top friendly !!! We ordered the same dish on another night and had high expectations well — it was not the same– to our disappointment… the taste was not the same! We were told the cook is not same every night! next time we go to Parrilla y Sabores, it’ll be on a Wednesday night and hopefully the cook schedule hasn’t changed since

It is sometimes In the most unpleasant parts of town that one can find an unmatched flavor and essence of a faraway cuisine. Go to Parilla y Sabores – in the daylight hours – and come hungry. What you order will come on two plates: one with the savory entrée, the other with the staples(rice, beans, plantains, and/or yucca). This is the real deal. Some Spanish language competence is recommended.

Disclaimer: the only things I have eaten from Parilla y Sabores are their empanadas… but those babies alone deserve like 7 stars so I feel like 5 is fair. Try all of them: chicken, beef, shrimp & chicken, & spinach and cheese. They’re 1.25 $ each but 3 of them are really filling. Thus, this is always my go-to choice when grabbing a meal for a crowd. They also come with a delicious vinegar-y salsa fresca-like sauce. However, they’re really greasy. I wouldn’t eat ‘em every day. But dang they got a nice crunch and a delicious filling. Melt in my mouth!

The menu is a bit confusing, because it’s a blend of Colombian, Portuguese, Brazilian and other Latin fare — and the layout of the menu is strange. BUT, having said that, they have a good selection of items. I ordered Carne Guisada(which was really good) and my partner had Pincho Argentino(a skewer of grilled meats.) My beef steak was juicy, and well-cooked with rice, beans, yucca, tomatoes and onions. Although the skewer of chicken was a bit underdone. The empanada appetizer(we ordered chicken and beef) made up for it, though. They were scrumptious. And the drinks we ordered also made up for the chicken. They have a good selection of beers from Brazil, Portugal, and the like — and my red sangria was delicious and full of fresh fruit. The caparinha, though, was amazing — I ordered two of them, and I’d go back just for the way they make it.(It’s a cocktail made of mashed limes and cachaa — and it’s sooo sooo good.) The service was also extremely friendly and attentive, and we dined at a relaxed and leisurely pace. I’ll definitely be returning again.
