A constant flow of people in and out. Not sure how local or farm fresh anything is. I get the feeling that this is just a produce section of a grocery store in a small building. Maybe at one point things were local, on a farm ect but this is in the middle of Hartford and i think it is very naïve to think that this is a true farm stand. In the summer they have plants out, herbs and boxes extended out onto the street like a farm stand of old but this is a little bit of a dumpy area to have that and i often think that i may be better off buying produce at the gas station. Prices are good, there is a legion of loyal people that come through here constantly.

I am ecstatic that I found Padula! The produce is better quality and cheaper than what you find in any grocery store. Most products are local, and they always have a great selection. I have to drive 15 minutes out of my way to get there, but even the cost of gas doesn’t offset what I save from buying produce here. I highly recommend Padula. FYI, they only accept cash.

You must love the quality of the offerings here. One can always get a fine tomato, perfectly ripe(yeah, of course they’re better in the Summer, I’m just sayin’…) They always have Broccoli Rabe and lots of other stuff like Escarole and Fennel and the like. Even in winter time their assortment is a little more creative than most. If you’re having a big affair they have a wholesale department and sell the stuff by the 20– to 50-lb. case!
