Ever since I tried Toasted, I havent been back to Subway. The bread is delicious, the deli meats are awesome, and the veggies are fresh & crisp. My favorite one got to be the yardgoats and the jojo. Must try!!!

Deserves 0 stars. $ 8 sandwich was exactly one piece of pastrami, one piece of corned beef. It’s 4 oz of meat” the woman tells me, which is $ 2/slice of meat. Pretty sure pastrami is $ 3/pound! It was basically a bread sandwich. Plus they refused credit card, even tho they have the symbols on the truck. Wow. Don’t go here!!!

I love food trucks. When I trained in Philadelphia, breakfast and lunch were a bit of an adventure as choices abound. In a competitive matket, the chef/owners of these mobile establishments were tasked with staying televant. To do so, the had to be fast and efficient, and offer something their neighbors did not. But mostly they had to be good, really good. And a few were great. Fast forward 30 years, new city, new environment. Food trucks are not abundant here. Although quite popular at festivals. But there is one standout that took it to a new level, and this is it. OK, now moved into in a small storefront so not technically a food truck any more but this is my story and I am sticking to it. The food is simple comfort food. Sandwiches, soups, and beverages. Sandwiches are made in a grill press. Two bread choices, white and wheat(I read on Unilocal there is a gluten free option for people that actually have celiac disease). I have had three different sandwiches… one with roast beef, one with tuna, and one vegetarian. All delicious. The only soup I have tried is the chili. First time it was outstanding. Second time it was good but not nearly as memorable as the first time. Thinking yhey make it fresh every day. Service is fast, courteous, and friendly. This is a winner.

Very good! I had the garden of eden sandwich on skinny wheat, spinach, thin tomato, sliced mozzarella, pesto and a sweet balsamic, $ 7.71 for a good sized sandwich, which was indeed toasted to perfection. I wish it had been crammed with a bit more veggies, making it more of a sandwich, and less of a panini. The store is very wee, with only 2-top tables. The seats were full, there were 2 people ahead of me in line, and I laid hands upon my sandwich in 5 mins. The have pre-designed sandwiches that all have local names(ex. the Hartford… which my friend got, and enjoyed immensely), which is adorable, but then you really have to read through every sandwich. I almost missed the vegetarian one. You also have the option to create your own, which I will do next time. They have at least 15 sauce options! Crucial for sauce lovers, like myself. They also have sweet toasts… I soooo want to try the s’mores one: nutella and marshmallow!!! I must keep my eyes peeled for the truck! I will be back to Get It Toasted!

Ate there for lunch one day. I had a chicken sandwich. I believe it was called the spicy elm it was a buffalo chicken with garlic mayonnaise and spinach on white bread. They say that it was toasted tasted more stale than anything deli meat was just throw on and pressed with some type of a flat grill. It came out like it was ironed. Other than that the staff was friendly and clean environment.

Came here because I was hungry and it’s close to my office. It’s a pretty small restaurant with high top seating along the wall… and some outdoor seating. No more than 5 ppl can eat indoors and 4 outdoors. So with that out of the way… I ordered and asylum classic toast(white bread no tomato). At first I was like«7.50(ish) for a grill cheese seems steep but whatevs». But I was pleasantly surprised to see my sandwich wasn’t a normal slice bread grill cheese but rather a 6 in(ish) French bread like sandwich! The cheese was melted perfectly and bacon was nice and crispy(altho im pretty sure it was the microwave kind). Really great G. C! I’d come back again!

Solid sandwiches. Making the move to a full storefront, Toasted has been open since Feb 2015. From their humble beginnings as a food truck in May 2013, this owners Debbie and Ken have carried over their passion for food and quality and there seems to be no stopping them! Breakfast sandwiches, lunch offerings, gluten-free options — Toasted does it right. Simple sandwiches made to order. The menu is very customizable. They also have signature sandwiches if you’re feeling overwhelmed(which I usually am) I love the Hartford 21: grilled chicken, avocado, red onion, fontina and chipotle mayo — it goes DOWN! The Garden of Eden is their take on a Caprese(but with the addition of spinach, pesto and balsamic drizzle) great if you’re feeling something on the light and healthy side. Sandwich, chips and drink can be had for less than $ 10(Great downtown lunch spot) M — F: 8am-6pm Sat: 11am-4pm

I was super excited to try Get It Toasted at the Museum of American Art one evening. Their sandwiches are huge! I loved my warm Helen of Troy, which included pastrami, corned beef, sauerkraut, provolone, and Russian dressing. I was very impressed and fell in love with this sandwich. I can’t wait to try their 10+ other sandwiches.

Although it may be a small space, this is the best little sandwich shop in Hartford. The facility was very clean and the staff was very friendly and quick with their service. I got the egg and cheese on wheat bread and it was great! Next time I will definitely get it on the white bread because the wheat wasn’t flavorful, as to be expected with wheat bread. Hopefully they can get a sharp cheddar for the egg and cheeses because that would be delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try a lunch sandwich!

These folks have a flashy truck, but unfortunately this seems like a case of style over substance. For starters, the bread-to-sandwich-ingredient ratio of these paninis is out of whack. The bread is fairly thick, and they use about half the amount of sandwich filling and condiments that they should. The result is a bland, dry, often greasy carbohydrate bomb. There are better ways to spend $ 7.25.

Had the east side chicken on wheat. I think that was the name. It was pretty bad… old tasting chicken on a bread that tasted a little old. Even though they panini grill the grinder bread. I don’t know. Something was off about the grinder. I couldn’t even finish half of it.

I’ve seen the Toasted food truck around and was really looking forward to their storefront opening; so far I have not been disappointed. They have a «frequent diner» card, which I get stamped every time I’m there. The sandwiches aren’t too big or too small, and they are affordable. Word to the wise: Ask them to cut it in half! The sandwiches are long and skinny and can be awkward to hold when you’re eating it, so I always get them cut in half to make them more manageable. The staff is always very friendly and they’ve recently added a little seating area at the window, which is perfect for people-watching. It’s a small location but I’ve never felt crowded in there, even with 10 or so people inside. I am hoping to visit them for brunch soon so I can get the Nutella sandwich.

Got the XL, meatball sub. It was very tasty… once I got through the bread and finally to the meatballs. At $ 7.25 per sandwich I would hope to have more than bread, cheese, and sauce. Double up on the meat and I may give this another shot.

I ventured out into the cold today to pick up a bottle of bubbly at Spiritus Wines and since it was lunchtime also I popped into Toasted to pick up a sandwich. What a pleasant surprise for downtown Hartford! I ordered the The Hartford sandwich which was really good — the fontina cheese paired with the chipotle mayo was super! I also loved that you could order«skinny» bread if you are trying to reduce your carbs. Their service was friendly and quick. I definitely recommend if you need a bite!

I’ve eaten at this truck a few times while outside Bushnell Park and they stopped by the Asian festival too. Very friendly and helpful. The grilled cheese sandwiches were excellent. Big and gooey and fresh. The kids ate them up entirely and asked for seconds. Next time, kids. In the meantime, this place has matured and is a very solid food truck in the area. Can’t wait to go again.

Toasted appeared to be one of the newest food trucks in Hartford. While chatting with others in line most had never seen it and some had it confused with a grilled cheese truck which was in fact parked behind it. I noticed the sign said est 2013 and it seems that’s when the Unilocal reviews started as well. There was no way I could have eaten here as I myself was«Toasted» food wise after eating at like 7 other trucks in the same day. But they had –exactly– what I needed. Fruit to drink. When I finally got to the window I saw a group was men working inside that seemed to have Russian accents. Ordered a fresh strawberry and raspberry smoothie. It came out really quick and was a thick lush drink jam packed with fresh fruit with a high fiber content. Price was extremely reasonable. I would most certainly recommend this truck to all the lunch eaters for fruit smoothies as I don’t see how you could find a better one for the price. 5 stars for the fruit smoothie!
