Ever Green Chinese Buffet

Buffet style restaurant tucked into a nondescript strip mall. It’s relatively hard to produce bad Chinese food, but this just wasn’t good. The lack of flavor was surprising. Apparently good Chinese food isn’t common in this area. We have yet to find anything above 2 – 3 stars.

My favorites are spring rolls, fried wontons,
Chow Suey, Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour pork or chicken, Pepper Steak with onions
I can’t make these at home for the price!

Six of us came for lunch today and had the buffet. There isn’t an amazing number of choices but everything we ate, was fantastic. Egg drop soup, sweet and sour chicken, crab rangoons, string beans, General Tso’s chicken were all great. The food was hot. The restaurant was clean. The hostess was friendly. We all cleaned our plates off and didn’t experience any ‘scrap’ pieces. We will definitely come again for the $ 6.75 buffet.

Another Disappointing Chinese restaurant. When are people going to stop eating such garbage, five of us stopped to eat we love Chinese food however this is the worst we had ever tried. The food is cooked in a bland sauce and does not resemble Chinese food at all.
I wouldn’t mind if they didn’t call it Chinese as in China the food is not at all like this, please wake up and force people to cook real Chinese food, which I think is the best food in the world, and people here would agree if they ever got to try it.

We aren’t buffet people but were hungry for Chinese and this was the only place open in the area. Are glad we decided to stop in. We ordered entrees to go and they were very good. I had the cashew chicken and asked them to add mushrooms. It was fantastic! My boyfriend’s Hunan chicken was spicy like he likes it. And we both enjoyed the cream Rangoon! Very good Chinese food. Might even try the buffet sometime!

Out for lunch with a friend in Hartford and she mentioned going for some Chinese food. Sure, I was down with that so we headed over to the little local strip mall to get some Chinese food.
Not knowing what to expect I was pleasantly surprised at how large the place was inside this little strip and the variety of items they had on their lunch buffet. The more variety, the better for me so I can try different things.
They had everything from salad to desserts and everything you can think of in between. I can’t express enough how impressed I was with the selection. Loved the Peanut Chicken — Yum! Vegetable spring rolls were tasty too. One whole line was main food and the other was all the extras like rolls, salad, fruits, pudding, desserts and then ice cream all for $ 8.95. Good deal.
So when you are in the Hartford area and looking for some good Chinese food, head on over to the Evergreen in the strip mall by Country Market and chow down, it’s good food for a good price.
Be forewarned Evergreen, I will be back!
