Disregarded the negative reviews. Mistake. Self seating. Sticky tables, worn/dirty floor. Waiter told us he would be with us in a minute twice. Then came to take our order. Never asked if we wanted drinks, or an appetizer. Prices seem rather high given the area. Food was bland, lazy, and thoughtless. Burrito was unseasoned meat, and tasted like it was assembled with standard fare ingredients by someone that doesn’t really care. Agree with previous reviews about salsa, it is a tomato purée with a hint of hot. Chips are pretty good, but at $ 4.50 a pop I would pass next time. Do society a favor and spend your money at a place that actually tries to do something special.

I’m writing a review because I work here. It is actually great food! I have enjoyed this food for years! I still love it!!! It’s American Mexican food. Also we are packed every night. Lines out the door waiting for people to eat! We have a ton of regulars that come more then three times a week! I’m sorry for anyone that has had a bad experience. We all work very hard! If we are busy, yes you will have to wait for a little bit to get food. It’s just like every other place you go and eat. I really wish people that have wrote a bad review come back and try again! You will get great service and great food!

We didn’t even make it to ordering, the waitress was so rude that we paid for out drinks and left.

We had a large group dine at La Fiesta tonight for the first time. Even though the restaurant was crowded, we received excellent service. The food was great and everyone enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. We will definitely come back the next time we’re in town!

Food was good, chips and salsa excellent. Everyone got something different and was pleased. Our waitress was exceptional and the place was packed. From Ohio and enjoyed pour dinner

I was hoping for the other Mexican place in town but they closed their grill early so I settled for this. I kept telling myself that it can’t be a 2 star place. Well it for sure is! The chips were good but the salsa tasted like something out of a jar. The chicken and pork tacos were bland and the steak quesadilla tasted like shoe leather according to my wife.

I ordered a chicken quesadilla with a side of rice. The chicken was nasty. It tasted and smelled as if it was leftovers from a week ago. Also, the waiter asked us if were ready to order before even asking us what we want to drink. Inside was not very Mexican themed. I would never go here again.

It’s basic Mexican, what I’d expect from michigan. Even buying special with 6 people bill was $ 40! Charging large basket of chips $ 4. Food was average.

I would take the star back if I could. Service sucked, food was not all that good. The chips are excellent and I buy them from Hansen’s market. But won’t do La Fiesta agian. Expensive and not good at all.

Terrible service. Didn’t even get a drink before we ordered, then waited another 15 minutes to get that drink. Step up the service game and maybe there’s a chance. Not the cleanest place I’ve seen either.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I’ve eaten lots of Mexican food all over North America(including Mexico) and La Fiesta is just fine. Not as adventurous as you’re likely to find outside the Midwest, but solid all the same. Barbacoa taco was top notch. Yes, the salsas aren’t especially hot, but they’re probably catering to local tastes rather than failing.

This is just plain gross Mexican food. I honestly couldn’t even eat it. I lived in Mexico for a year — this is nowhere near Mexican food. It also isn’t good Tex-Mex or American Mexican. Low quality and just plain gross. Don’t bother.

Mexican food does not include cheese whiz. I feel sorry for anyone that goes here thinking that this is good mexican food. This is complete garbage. If this is the only mexican food you had, well then I guess you’d think its good, but damn. Taco Bell is more authentic. Good thing this business is in Michigan because if it were out here in California, they would be eaten alive.

The food is delicous — especially the chips, flautas, and tacos. The salsa could use some work, but you can’t have everything. I am not sure what is going on with the negative reviews on the food. Comments about the staff being unfriendly are completely valid. We end up here a couple times a year as we travel through town for the Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival. Recently we stopped in(off season) and got the same cool, unsmiling service that we receive in August. The wait staff seriously does need to get friendlier — or at least fake it. One star off for the surly service, but the food is solidly good.

Not as detrimental as I expected after reading the previous reviews. Not authentic but not as bad as most Michigan Mexican establishments. Recently moved here from California and hoping to find a good latin eatery. The search continues…

There are a lot of vegetable growing and processing businesses in the area. They generate seasonal work that attract a lot of migrant workers. You would think a town with a significant would pressure a place to put out decent mexican food… not La Fiesta. Located in downtown Hart, this restaurant has a very inviting exterior. The interior, however, has all the charm of a dirty fast food restaurant. Bare table tops, charmless front counter area, and no hot sauce on the tables. Waitresses here look like they suppliement their incomes by working the pole. Surly expressions and«whaddya want?» greet you as you get ready to order. Menu has a variety of basic mexican dishes, combinations and sides. Chips and salsa are not complimentary at this establishment so you’ll have to order them ala cart. I ordered a chicken enchilada plate and my buddy ordered nachos(he’s so unadventurous). We also ordered chips and salsa. Chips and salsa came first, chips were OK but the salsa was a watery purée, probably made in a blender. Not very hot either. I was warned that the stuff was really hot… shit, baby food. Nachos were pretty standard, made with cheese whiz and some chicken in it, you can find this kind of stuff in any convenience store. My chicken enchilada was awful, the chicken tasted gamey and the sauce was almost flavorless. Beans and rice didn’t do much to help. Unilocal reviewers say that there are other decent joints in Hart so try them first. This joint is a Taco Bell that serves alcohol.

should have listened to fellow Unilocalers and not give this place a try. I was craving for mexican food and this place was the closest around. Ordered the wet burrito. It was more like burrito soup soaking in tomato-y sauce. Lack of flavors. The chicken was overly salty. The portion was big, but not good enough to even finish ¼ of it. Gross. Will not return. Save your money and go down to GR or Muskegon area for Mexican

I really want to like La Fiesta. After all, it’s my husband’s favorite Mexican restaurant. Ever. Why??? I think it’s because he grew up on La Fiesta, whereas I grew up in California where we have real Mexican food everywhere. I find the chicken VERY dry. On tacos, doraditas, quesadillas, anything. It really puts a damper on every meal I’ve had here. Three stars is for the chips. The chips are actually REALLY good. They sell them in the grocery store now(at least Hansen’s), so you don’t have to go in to buy them.

Haven’t been here in a while and I remember why now. I can cook way better mexican food than this place. The service sucks. No booze(margaritas might make the food more tolerable). My 4yr old said his stomach hurt an hour later after eating, then he threw up. Hopefully they go out of business soon.

Very unauthentic Mexican food ironically cooked by real mexicans. I’m 25 and have been coming here all my life. The same folks are serving food today that were serving it 15 years ago. My old man used to bring a bottle of Tabasco sauce in his pants pocket because the salsa is a step below«mild.» Each time we would go my dad would ask for spicier salsa than the ketchup they gave us, and they would come out with something that looked different but was never any spicier. My mom would always feel humiliated when the waitress would spot the bottle of hot sauce my dad was hiding behind his Diet Coke. Last time we went we forgot the Tabasco. I do LOVE the Mexican pizza. It is the only dish I’ve ever ordered. Fifteen years of Mexican pizzas only, and I stand by that decision. If you want anything that remotely resembles Mexican cuisine, don’t get your hopes up. La Fiesta wouldn’t excite even the blandest palate. The food here would go well in the Walker’s nursing home dining room down the street.
