This is a fun place for all ages to learn about Kentucky history. We visited on the weekend in June when they re– enacted the raid on Fort Harrod. It was well organized and everything was explained well. After the re-enactment we visited inside each cabin within the fort. Many demonstrations were given from iron works to soap making. We spent an hour and a half touring the fort and the surrounding chapel(marriage cabin was preserved inside). Then we visited the Mansion Museum. It was lovely(and air conditioned, so we were able to really stay and enjoy the displays)! The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the restrooms were disgustingly filthy and I was not given a map of the layout of the fort. It would have been nice to had some literature and plan of our self tour. Everyone was very nice, however, and we had an enjoyable day visiting Fort Harrod State Park.
