Just like my review of the Staunton location this place is yummy, cheap, and fast. I don’t like hot dogs but I do like Sam’s hot dogs with mild chili. We always get to go and receive fast and friendly service. We love coming here not only to support a local business but the food is always great! Just make sure you have cash or spend more than $ 5 to use credit cards

Wow. This place is amazing. 2nd best hot dog I’ve ever had…2nd only to the famous«Martinsville Hotdog» and you can only get those twice a year. The chili and slaw are amazing. Fries and fried pickles were delicious too. I don’t usually enjoy fired pickles, that’s my wife’s thing, but I couldn’t put them down. If you are visiting Harrisonburg I would highly recommend Sam’s. It’s a must go.

Décor was just average. I did not go inside it is a stand up order outside stand. The service was not great either. The server/cashier looked like he did not want to be there. He took my card for payment after I ordered then brought the food out and asked for payment. That pisses me off. Then didn’t even give me a receipt. So I had to wait for the customer behind me to order then I had to ask for my receipt. Not sure why it is called the best hot dog. No taste, boiled yuk. He did not have red onions… I know its a New York thing but come on… how do you not have red onions. I am not going to take off points for that however. I understand some areas do not understand. The fries were stringy dry and very very salty. Décor — 2 of 5 Service — 2 of 5 Food — 1 of 5

I tried this Harrisonburg staple for the first time today and I was very satisfied… the only reason I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars was that the onion rings I ordered were a little limp(the batter was delicious, just not quite crispy enough for my tastes)… the classic hot dog with hot or mild chili(i chose hot), mustard, diced onions, and cole slaw(i opted out of the slaw) was excellent… chili had just the right amount of spice and complemented the all-beef hot dog perfectly with the onions and mustard providing a nice crunch and zing, respectively… 2 dogs and the onion rings for 5 bucks is definitely the right price for a delicious and filling lunch
