A professor recommended L and S to me last spring. A year later my boyfriend and I finally got around to trying it. It is super small inside and there is only counter seating. The wait staff is so friendly and a lot of regulars come in so the atmosphere is very homey and welcoming. We both had eggs over easy, bacon/sausage, home fries, toast, and split a pancake. Eggs were cooked perfectly which is always my main criticism for breakfast. The homemade sausage was delicious! Bacon and pancake were good. It was a traditional greasy diner breakfast done right. I had a great meal. Their main flaw is they aren’t open on Sunday’s.

Overpriced, indifferent breakfast. Interior and exterior is cute, though. Take your photos, but skip the coffee.

One of the highlights of our trip! even though the AC was broken the atmosphere, more than made up for it! We had a quick breakfast and the banter from the staff keep us laughing all the way to Nashville. Great stop don’t miss the chance to enjoy a good breakfast and the«at home feeling» with the staff!

This place is an amazing train-car diner in Harrisonburg, VA. Amazing food. Great service. Been here more than three times? Everyone will know you. The pancakes and biscuits are two of my favorites.

Everyone expects diner food to be greasy, that’s okay. What you don’t expect is almost inedible food. I got a cheeseburger with the trimmings and it came with potato chips. The chips were obviously a knock off brand stored in a Tupperware box, which could not of helped, cause they were too stale to eat. when you ask for pickles on a burger, if you’re like me, you expect the classic crisp dill pickle slices. Not here! Try sweet bread and butter pickles, yuck! The service is, without a doubt, extremely nice and pleasant. But this does not make up for the horrible quality of the food. Stay away!

It’s diner style so if it’s packed it might be difficult to find a group of stools together. They serve traditional breakfast foods– my sister got their biscuits and gravy and loved it. Nothing fancy– come as you are and get fed for a very reasonable price. Nice women behind the counter– they make great food!

Meah. We were hoping for«all American diner,» and well I guess we got it, albeit a costco version. Nothing appeared to be homemade. Store bought coleslaw and potato salad. Instead of butter, margarine. Sunbeam bread. Very nice service. Only counter seating so you can watch the cook prepare food on the griddle. Glad we went, though wouldn’t go back.

We thought we’d try out a real greasy spoon diner in Virginia. I’d really give this diner a 3.5, but I rounded up to four stars. We ordered the garbage omelet, biscuits and gravy, country potatoes(they don’t have hash browns), oatmeal, and coffee. The garbage omelet was just meh. It didn’t have any cheese and had way too many green peppers and raw onions for my liking. It did have quite a bit of meat it in though. The biscuits and gravy were the bomb. The biscuits were delish on their own also. The country potatoes were good, I just like hash browns better. The oatmeal is made with the minute oats but it comes with a ton of raisins and brown sugar. The coffee was good. Not artisan good, but not awful either. This diner is bar seating only so it was hard to come with a toddler who still needed to sit in a high chair. So we had to put her behind us in the only highchair they had. Good thing it had a tray! I would come back if I didn’t have any small children, but probably won’t come again until they can sit on the seats by themselves. They take only cash or personal checks.

Great greasy spoon! Not a ton of room for large parties, but gives you a great Saturday morning breakfast fix. The biscuits and gravy fit the southern style perfectly. The hash-browns will fix any hangover!

Best restaurant in Harrisonburg. The fried chicken is amazing. Everything is unbelievably cheap and comes out in about 10 seconds flat. I think the heavy townie presence here keeps it from being overrun with JMU students like it should be. Eat here. You won’t be disappointed.

Came in for a late breakfast and there was plenty of room, my party was rather large but the other patrons were happy to move over a stool or two to accommodate us. The food itself was very good, definitely a tiny diner but you paid very little for something very good. I had a garbage omelette and highly recommend it, I didn’t have any but the home fries looked like they were excellent as well. Some people at the end of the bar ordered stuffed bell peppers that also looked fantastic, I’m sue you’d be hard pressed to go wrong with anything on the menu,

Given i’m from the north east, I felt right at home with this small family feel diner. Although this place is small, it is a GREAT place to grab a quick meal. The food is cooked right in front of you. Extremely friendly staff!!! The cooks claim: He can cook you anything(not a steak) faster than an order by come out through McDonald’s Drive thru! ~Very warm, family feeling!!!
