Great park for hiking. They have several shelters for picnics and family gatherings. Volleyball court, a couple of horse shoe spots and a basketball court. Plenty of space so that your not on top of the next picnic goer.

Hillandale has 12 picnic shelters that you can reserve complete with tables and grills and some nice big fields to play in. It’s not too far from JMU either.
