As noted in my original review, the staff is extremely defensive about suggestions, evidenced by the message the owner sent me,
«this is Val Holmes, the owner of Golds Gym in Hburg. i would like to set up a time to meet with you personally to talk about your issues with the gym. I take alot of pride in our gym and work very hard to make my members happy. i am here at the front desk daily and really wish you would of addressed any issues you have with me personally rather than resorting to a review that is, at the very least, somewhat in accurate and unfair. You would have to agree, i must be aware of the issues in order to fix them. Your opinion does matter and if you want to stay here, i want you to be happy and satisfied, so just let me know a day and time that works for you to meet. thanks in advance and i look forward to hearing from you.»

I moved to Harrisonburg in November and instantly became a member of Golds. A bit of a group exercise junkie, I needed a fix. They have an awesome class schedule with a lot of variety in both class type and time. Every class I have taken has been fun, energetic, and well attended. I like the atmosphere that is generated by the staff. They are always kind but non-​intrusive. You can get in and out without feeling judged, rushed, or ignored… which is hard to say for a lot of gyms. The owners really seem to care about upkeep, too. Everything is clean and in top condition. I can’t say much about free weights since I don’t use them much myself but there seems to be plenty to go around.

Horrible Gym! The staff is more then great, but the gym is way too small, not enough equipment and extremely overcrowded. Other then that its great… lol.
