Foilz Hair Studio

I have friends who have gone to Foilz and had great experiences, I just want people to beware before they book. I came here a few months ago with healthy un-​dyed hair and my hairdresser bleached parts of my hair blonde (I wanted subtle lighter pieces ribboned throughout and I have very dark brown hair). The bleach was left on for far too long and the color was bad and the strands are destroyed. I have had many treatments done elsewhere and color fix to get rid of the blonde but I can no longer style my hair with heat out of fear for the damaged pieces. My hairdresser asked another what to do when I was upset that it was blonde, terrifying me that she wasn’t trained well. I’m sure there are fine people there and my cut was good but make sure the person who does your hair knows what they are doing because it is going to take years to grow this out…

I absolutely loved Meghan! Initially walked in and was not very impressed with the décor or lack there of but the staff more than made up for it with their expertise and skills. Super affordable compared to a lot of other salons in the area that take advantage of JMU students. Came in here expecting to pay around $ 30+ for a haircut since I have long hair. They did a dry cut and only charge me $ 20!!! I’m very picky about my hair and Meghan did an amazing job layering it. Did not do any color this time but will update review once I do.

Foilz is seriously the best! I’ve been going here for the last year or so and I always go to Megan. She’s done highlights on me, trims, new styles and more. Anytime I ask her to do something she does it EXACTLY how I want and makes sure I’m happy. And if I’m not, she takes the time to make sure everything is perfect. Their salon is very clean and all the other staff are extremely friendly and talk to me like I’m a personal friend every time I go there. Their prices are very reasonable (especially because I’m a college student) and I would HIGHLY recommend going to them. If you want someone to actually listen to what you want and give you what you want with out frying or chopping off your hair… GO HERE! :)
