Harrison Varsity Cleaners

Awful place, overpriced beyond belief. They charged me $ 35 for my daughters winter coat, I never imagined it could be so much, I made the mistake of sending her to drop it off and she came back with the ticket $ 35. And then it took over a week to get back. I have since used the Value Act Cleaners on Harrison Avenue, they do organic dry cleaning and the same coat was $ 3.99. Notice the difference in price? Not only that, it takes them one day to turn it around whereas it takes Harrison Varsity Cleaners 5 to 7 days. What a tremendous rip-​off!

I have taken things there to be cleaned or hemmed and the service was always okay. They adjusted my wedding dress for me. It was fine. HOWEVER several times I have taken in something to be hemmed or to have a seam resewn or a new zipper put in and the man behind the counter, the owner I think [NOT THE SEAMSTRESS/​TER… who was was not there at those times] really yelled at me and told me that my garment was very old and falling to pieces and not worth mending, and that they would not do the job. In each case what he said was absolutely not true. They were new or relatively new garments that for some reason needed an adjustment. I really do not understand why the man acted that way. On one occasion I was really over the barrel and knew what he was saying was not true so I DEMANDED that they do the repair I had asked for and said I did not care about his [wrong] opinion of the age of my garment, that I was willing to pay for it and wanted it done. They did ti and it was fine. Can’t figure this place out. The rest of the time they do a decent job.

This cleaners is not worth it. I only bring items here out of necessity when I’m desperate. They have ruined multiple pieces of clothing here. Do not trust them.

I have been using Varsity Cleaners for years to dry clean my suits. never had a problem. I haven’t used them the past few years and owners have changed.
