Deciding to try something new we stopped at this place an what a mistake that was. To begin, all the Caucasian customers were greeted when they came in right away, we didn’t get so much as a hi. The place was clean but the staff was ghetto. The girl answered the store phone having a personal conversation after I was standing at the counter ready to order and her body language certainly expressed that I was inconveniencing her and her personal life. I didn’t know what to expect about the food but we ordered a kids meal, rainbow parrot and penguin club without ham and double turkey. For $ 32…Those lonely 4 dino chicken nuggets looked amazing compared to the two sandwiches and I paid to know this is one place I will never visit again. This place is not worth the money.

If you’ve been to an Isaacs before then the food here will be familiar, but beyond that, thks place was lacking. Service was horrible… had to ask for everything… napkins, silverware, pickles, you name it, we didn’t have it. Chips served were old and stale. Over billed for beverages and waitress was clueless and offered no correction. Will still go to Isaacs, just not this one.

This place is awful. The level of dysfunctional is spectacular. From all levels. From Some would claim Simple tasks: Taking phone orders. To complex issues: Cleaning bathrooms. And waiting on patrons. DYSFUNCTION I love their sandwich soo much, but unless I pop some Xanax, I can no longer go to the Paxton St. Location. Management Really should do THier Job. Or pay people a decent wage so U have workers that give a damn n arnt as inept as folks working here.

This place has went downhill tremendously in the last year, unfortunately the price has not! The sandwiches are good, but what you pay for lunch meat is a bit much. Before, when you ordered a sandwich, you got to choose a side salad or chips. The side salad was mediocre at best, but it had some extra veggies in it. Now you get charged extra if you want a salad and it’s only lettuce and dressing… like 4 fork fulls of lettuce. They also used to offer utz chips, now they only have their own brand. The last two times my husband got them, they tasted rancid. Talk about making money hand over fist! We also used to love their broccoli salad, but the last two times the dressing was so light it was like eating a bowl full of raw broccoli. Not good at all. For two people to eat, with no drinks, we spent over $ 35…for sandwiches, some lettuce, and dry broccoli. We’ll not be back without some serious revamping.

I went here with a couple relatives for a quick dinner. Our experience here was pretty weird. From the outside, Isaac’s looks like a nice steakhouse, but on the inside it’s decorated in a tropical theme. The service was kind of strange. When we walked in, the host told us to wait a minute, and then he walked to the cash register and started arguing with the cashier, I think about where to sit us. Then he brings us to a table. The menu is kind of strange. The names of the items don’t match up at all with what the food actually is, and is instead just a name of a bird with an adjective. For example, a chicken sandwich with mushrooms might be called something like the«singing flamingo.» This made it hard to keep track of what everything was. I’ve never even considered how it’s important that the name of each dish is something related to what it is, but Isaac’s showed me it’s important. The strawberry lemonade was overpriced, and really bad. It had almost no lemon flavor whatsoever. The sandwiches were all good, but small, especially given the price. I do recommend getting a sandwich on the pretzel roll bread, as the pretzel bread was the best part of the meal. The homemade kettle chips weren’t good at all, and the side salads were tiny. Overall, overpriced for what it is.

2.5 stars, but that’s not a Unilocal option. Some pickles and pickled vegetables are brought while we decide. We started with soups — the tomato pepperjack– which was excellent — the croutons make it like having a tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwich all in one. A Tuscan beef barley wasn’t very Italian — or very good for that matter. Our sandwiches(Mallard with roast beef, and Grouse with turkey/ham) were savory on their pretzel buns, but quite small. Good thing we had the soup. The house made chips were a nice touch — but coming well after the lunch rush we got a lot of small pieces. Our server was quick to bring food, a bit too quick to remove plates, and disappeared for a while at bill paying time. Nonetheless, I thought the service was acceptable overall.

I haven’t experienced the service problems others have mentioned. My service is always good and we enjoy their lunchtime sandwiches and soup.

I really like this restaurant. The food selections are great, the prices are mostly reasonable and I’ve never had problem with service. I just wish desserts were cheaper, but I wish that at all restaurants. I recommend this place to others.

If there were no stars, I would have picked that. Service was atrocious and food quality is way down. We used to frequent this restaurant, but after tonight’s visit, we will not be back.

I really do like the Isaac’s food,(if slightly on the pricier side) but service at this Harrisburg, PA location was absolutely ridiculously TERRIBLE. I am still shocked at how agonizingly s-l-o-w…this place was. My husband and I arrived and decided that as it didn’t look too full we would stay and eat as opposed to ordering take out. We were seated and then we sat and we sat and we sat and we sat. No waitress arrived. There didn’t seem to be wait staff anywhere. After about 15 minutes my husband was done waiting. He was hungry and not about to sit and wait any longer. So we got up and decided we’d just order out and take it back to our hotel. More waiting ensued. Finally we gave our order. Shortly after that our would be waitress finally appeared and shouted across the room«Are you guys the ones who were sitting in the back? I was coming. I had a ticket problem. You can sit down now». Um NO. We didn’t appreciate being screamed at across the whole store and there was no way were sitting down now. Sorry honey. No tip for became apparent that one of the cash registers was having a problem. Several people were waiting. So one would think that there would be some urgency to their movements. Nope. The wait staff was sauntering around in no particular hurry, singing along to the radio. Stopping to have chit chats about who was off early and where they would be going. There was one girl slowly and nonchalantly putting stickers on boxes. Nobody seemed to be making any food at all. zero urgency. None. One woman was trapped with her card in the managers hand(she was the one who was singing along to the radio) b/c something had gone wrong with the ticket. They were trying to add things up but seemed very taxed by that effort. The woman waiting was making it clear that she was in a hurry. Too bad the manager was not. Had we not seen that part of our order was already being bagged up we would have left. Had we been home we would have left long before but we were visiting and just wanted our food as we were starving at this point. FINALLY our food was bagged and ready to go. The manager had the bag in her hand but good LORD she took her time getting to the counter. She stood chatting with a co worker, our food in her hand, and laughing over something. Discussed another order. Hand on her hip, settling in for a good talk, with our FOODINHERHAND. Finally my husband said«Is that my order?». Even then she was slow to turn around and finally put our food down on the counter. We were given a 15% off the ticket b/c of «the wait». Every person in the store was getting the same discount. The service at this place is inexcusably slow. There has clearly been no training of the wait staff. The counter staff, while friendly and quick to want to make amends for extended waits, are also poorly trained and unable to efficiently handle any issues that come up. The manager is seemingly the most clueless person there! We ate at another Issac’s in Hummelstown and the service was incredibly quick and efficient. Exact same order was taken, prepared, bagged and paid for in under 10 minutes time. When all was said and done we were at the Harrisburg location for nearly an hour. This is not acceptable for any reason. We will not be returning based on the service alone, no matter how good the food is. It is NOT worth that kind of wait.

Just love this restaurant. Have been there 4 times and absolutely love the food. We pass through this area when we are traveling and this is now our stopping spot. Everyone loves their sandwiches and soups. I especially love the glutenfree offerings which are so hard to find and so good. Health choices and good taste!

Never again. Today was the last time I will go to this Issacs. I have said this before, but still go because it’s convenient to my work location. However, the staff is just incapable of getting SIMPLE to-go orders correct! Last order(2 weeks ago), they forgot key ingredients on a sandwich. Ingredients that are listed in the menu description, not a special order. Today I waited 25 minutes for my order while I watched the staff make my hot sandwich first, that sat and got cold for 15 minutes while the other employee stood there putting flamingo stickers on to-go boxes. At 20 minutes I spoke up and they were like, oh… where’s this other sandwich. So they got the cold sandwich together quick and on it was a handwritten flamingo sticker that said«Enjoy Diane». That’s not the name I called the order under. They also forgot to include the free pickles. I suggested less time be spent decorating stickers with wrong names and more time spent paying attention to incoming orders and preparing them correctly. I am DONE!

On trip to BPS The place was dead, on a Saturday afternoon service was good and the food was Great. Had the jack tomato soup and buffalo chicken pretzel sandwich. No adult beverages could have got a 5 star review.

The tomato pepper jack soup is excellent and filling. The tuna salad wrap was excellent too though I couldn’t finish it due to the aforementioned soup. Highly recommended.

The food is consistently good, but I have found the mid-week service speed too slow for anything larger than a table for two. Recently, it took 45 minutes for the food to arrive for our party of six. And when the food arrived, it was only five of six meals. The server disappeared and we all sat waiting, not wanting to eat before everyone had their meal. The sixth dish(a salad) came out five or six minutes later. Server 101: Bring all of the food at the same time. If the speed was faster for the working lunch crowd, I’d give it three stars.

Visited this Isaac’s recently, for the first time. I called in a take out order, and it was ready pretty quickly, under 10 minutes. We had the Mexican Sunflower(black bean burger — 7.50) along with the Rose of Sharon pretzel sandwich(also 7.50). My items each came with a pickle and bag of utz’s chips. My opinion is neutral, I might go back again to check it out. The inside looked nice, and they had a variety of cakes & desserts in a small case. It didnt look busy by what I saw. Issac’s shares the building with fuddruckers and Tuscano.

I was in a bind at work and got a large Mediterranean salad for a quick take-out. I showed up 20 minutes after ordering, as instructed by the order taker. I waited 5 minutes for someone at the counter to help me and then learned that no one had made the salad yet. I then waited another 10 minutes for them to make the salad. Got back to the office after the many delays at the restaurant. The salad was good, but not very«large» or very«good» based on the absurd price of it: $ 8.11 for a salad with no meat on it. I won’t be going back.

I am a huge fan of Isaac’s and wish they had something similar down in DC. It’s a run of the mill sandwhich place that named all of their sandwhiches after birds, but its definitely one of those places that you go to just to relax and have a good meal with some friends. And that’s always the reason I’ve gone. The only thing I have to say about this place compared to the other Isaac’s I’ve been to is that their sandwiches seem to have gotten smaller. I don’t know if its the economy or maybe they just started making them smaller, but i was still hungry after having my meal.
