Got what we came for: solid country breakfast! Biscuits were worth the price through the bacon was second rate. French toast was right on. If you’re passing through, make the stop!

In a typical situation this would have gotten 3 stars, but I didn’t come under typical circumstances. I was beat and starving after being on the road for two days straight. Food hit the spot and service was prompt, just what I was looking for.

My wife and I spent the weekend camping at a nearby State Park. We had planned to drive into Fredericksburg for lunch but I noticed the crowd of trucks and cars when we drove past the Longhorn. I took the clue it may be good. It was better than good! My wife ordered the mushroom swiss burger with onion rings. I got the chicken salad sandwich with fries. The sandwich was very good with home made chicken salad of mayo, nuts and bits of grape on toast. The burger was excellent! The meat was extremely tasty and the rest of the«stuffings» were done perfectly — fresh and tasty. The service was good and the homey, western motif of the place fit it’s location. If Austin weren’t 100 miles away, I’d be a regular.

I was indeed surprised to find myself in this little town outside of Fredericksburg, hungover and starving on a Sunday morning. My friends and I stayed at a local cabin about a mile away, and this café was listed in the«local dining» section of their«Get to know the area» booklet. Breakfast tacos. Enough said. I needed fried, so naturally I ordered onion rings on the side. Right?! Haha, anyway, they were pretty good. Okay, so tacos weren’t cutting it and I chose a burrito. I ordered whatever I could fit in there … bacon, eggs, peppers, onions, cheese, beans, can’t remember the rest. Seriously, very good. And the salsa(s)! Homemade, just like all of the food, super spicy, just like I want it. You can tell this is a comfort food type of joint that delivers just that. Nothing fancy, no frills. Service is super. We had multiple servers assisting our group of five, easily helping the rest of a packed restaurant(church-goers). Stop here if you’re in town!

Super friendly service and good food. I was driving through and needed some food. Called a friend in the area and he suggested the Longhorn. I was skeptical from the outside, but it’s super cute inside. I had the special of the day: chicken fried chicken, garlic mashed potatoes and buttered corn with an appetizer of fried dill pickle chips. I don’t have a single complaint. Their tea was also fresh… I’m rather particular about my tea. My friend had an avocado cheese burger and fries and she loved it. We are big fans! Thanks for being so friendly to those of us «just passin’ through»!

The breakfast taco os beyond belief. Friday night is as great as any little town bar… they bring in local musicans who play and sing! Perfect small town, home town feel.
