I have recently become OBSESSED with BBQ food. Never used to be a big fan of it but something about it lately has me craving it! This joint is a small, unassuming place that you probably;y will drive right past. It looks like it is in a converted house in the middle of nowhere, but it actually holds an AMAZING gem of a place! Kinda funny but this is only a drive from where I grew up and it had sadly taken me 24 years to try them out. Wish I would have made that drive earlier! Everything is ala-cart. So you order what you want at the counter, the weigh the meat and put the sides into different bowls based on how much you want. We went later in the day so I don’t think they had everything they normally would have but there was still a nice selection. I tried the pulled pork, chicken breast, macaroni salad, chicken rice, and beans. My chicken was served with either bbq sauce, sweet, or hot. I picked the hot as I love spicy food! It was a great sauce, but be careful because it’s the type of hot that build the more you eat. Back to the food — everything was fantastic. The rice hands down was my favorite. It was unique and of so flavorful! Best beans I have ever had, and the macaroni salad was to die for! I completely regret not trying this place sooner. Now that I have been there, and they have take-out, I can see it becoming another regular spot! Make the journey out here, you won’t be disappointed!

Pretty good. Hubby and I both ordered the lunch special, which consisted of a small sandwich and two sides. We opted for the pulled pork, which wasn’t small, by the way. The nice lady behind the counter suggested the muddy creek potatoes: diced home fries with shredded pork and cheese. Good choice. My only complaint was that I prefer to add my own BBQ sauce to my pulled pork. Don’t get me wrong, the sauce was tasty, with just the right amount of tang, but the sandwich was drowning in the sauce.

Being from the south i had high hopes when I first spotted this place a while back. They have great side dishes but they don’t know how to make barbecue! If you’re looking for authentic. keep driving. Like I said the side dishes are excellent and worth a try!

My fiancée and I stopped here for late lunch after some hiking in McConnell’s mills. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich, muddy creek potatoes, beans, mac & cheese, and chicken to share. Everything was delicious, and service was very friendly and quick. I especially liked the pulled pork and the muddy creek potatoes. They also let us sit in the outside gazebo with our dog and they even brought him some water to drink! We will certainly come back again!

Have only eaten here a couple of times. The first time was pretty bad to be honest. It just want what BBQ should be. Now, granted I’ll take the time of year and time of day we visited that first time into consideration … 2nd time was a little better but nothing is write home to Texas about. At least this time we got more than chicken and ribs that we’re being kept warm. I want there to be a 3rd time because this place is only a few miles from me and I would LOVE to know I have a good BBQ place close. I’m going to keep giving this place a shot. I know these at least a 4 hiding there somewhere.

Muddy creek is one plate of ribs away from a 5 star review. I think if I had that in front of me now, I’d be at 5 stars. It’s very good. VERY good. We’ve been going here on and off for years — more off than on due mostly to it being pretty far out and away from most everything. But man, when we do go here and get some bar-b-que we wonder why it’s taken us so long to make a return visit. We stopped for a late lunch last week and shared some ribs and some awesome side dishes. The ribs were meaty and fall off the bone tender. The hot BBQ sauce on the side was spicy and so flavorful. Wish I had a gallon of it to take home. The selection of sides, both hot and cold, is extensive and everything we’ve tried is awesome. The beans, mashed potatoes, and cole slaw make my mouth water. Pulled pork is spectacular and cheap! Everything is cheap! I love family run businesses that take pride in their food and aren’t out to rip you off. The pulled pork sandwich can be yours for about $ 4.50 and is filed with deliciousness. Consider for a minute what $ 4.50 buys you elsewhere. Got it? Not much, right? Wait till you eat here! This place rules!!! If you’re ever on route 19 north of cranberry and zelienople, take the extra 10 – 15 minutes and drive on out. You won’t be sorry. Amazing.

Muddy Creek Bar-B-Q is pretty far off the beaten path on Route 19 about ½ way between Zelienople and Portersville. We literally have to have a reason to be up that way to even consider it because it’s really in the middle of nowhere. You know how far off the path you’ve strayed when a gray haired, bearded mountain man’s cell phone plays«Bad Moon Rising» as his ring tone in the restaurant and he answers it with«Yep». Today we happened to be out that way and were reminded how ridiculously delicious and inexpensive their food is. Ribs and 3 sides for $ 10 for lunch. Holy smokes, sign my guy up! I got an extra order of 2 ribs for $ 4 and we shared the sides. More than enough for lunch and we’d probably pay more than that at a fast food joint. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and chock full of flavor. They gave us their hot barbecue sauce for dipping which was killer tasty and had a nice amount of heat. That hot sauce is a new addition since we last visited this place and it’s worthy of taking a jar home. They also offer sweet and regular barbecue sauces. We’ve had their pulled pork on previous visits and it’s pretty incredible, too. Side dishes: the coleslaw was really good, the baked beans were homemade and pretty good and the haluski was greasy and not up to our standards. I’ve had their mac and cheese in the past and would have much preferred it over the haluski. If this place was closer, we’d eat there often. Obviously the atmosphere has entertainment potential!

Wow! I was visiting friends and we stopped in Muddy Creek to take dinner home. The place seems to be in the middle of nowhere. Barebones type of spot with cafeteria style take-out. Super friendly staff. Here’s what we ordered: 2 # pulled pork-DELICIOUS! 2# Scalloped Potatoes 1# Potato Salad(Made in-house and delicious!) ½ # Haluski(My first experience and it was delicious!) ½# Macaroni Salad(Made in-house and excellent!) For just under $ 30 this fed seven people and there were even left-overs. The pulled pork was delicious. I am a potato salad snob and must say this was some fantastic potato salad. I had never heard of or experienced Haluski(cabbage and noodles). Enjoyed it! The only dish from Muddy Creek that I did not care for was the scalloped potatoes. Everything else was out of this world.
