Their food is pretentious… or at least pretends to be so. Poorly made and poorly conceived at best, with the added kicker of being extremely overpriced. Furthermore, the completely unprofessional and rude behavior of the staff, aggressively announcing that one person in our party would not be served and carding *only* the black person in our group, made our last experience at Positive Pie so awful that it’s entirely unlikely that any of us will ever go back.

Excellent pizza, good draft beer selection and location. They had Hill Farmstead Susan on tap! I enjoyed the green man(veg) pizza my first visit and I loved it. Second dinner had me wanting to try something other than pizza. I was very disappointed with the pasta carbonara. The sauce was like gravy… I’d say it was gravy. It would have been perfect for biscuits and gravy, but it’s not what I wanted for my pasta. I couldn’t finish it. I’d have given Positive Pie five stars easy, if not for that pasta.

Great pizza place with the perfect atmosphere for a chilly Vermont night. Pretty much everyone in my group opted to for their own small pizza and everything looked great! I ordered spinach, mushroom, and bacon on mine. It’s thin crust style(which in my opinion is the best) and it was nice and crispy. Their bar looked like a pretty chill place to hang out and they had awesome local beers on tap. I went for the 14th star maple stout and it was yummy! I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area!

Been here various times. Each time we’ve liked the food less & less. Nothing on the menu would get you to want to come back so we’re hoping the recent fire damage will light up some menu changes. Not too many options in he area, so it does beat going to a snack shack.

I ordered a personal 10 inch gluten free pizza with cheese and anchovies, while the kids got regular cheese pizzas. All three pizzas were done in a thin crust style and light on the cheese and sauce. Surprisingly, I thought the gluten free pizza actually tasted better than the regular. Not the best pizza I ever had, but good nonetheless. There’s lots more than just pizza. They have a full menu with burgers, sandwiches, and a few fish dishes. Our waitress was very nice, knew the menu well, and was prompt with the drinks, the food, and the check. It was more on the pricey side, but Positive Pie is worth a try if you’re in or around Hardwick or Greensboro, Vermont. Over all: 3 ½ stars.

We had a great meal there after a Smirkus camp performance. A huge bunch of families with kids descended at the same time and the staff dealt well. The cocktails were original without being weird, the pizzas were good, and those fried Brussels sprouts were amazing. Our table were in front of the windows, which was really too bright and warm, some kind of shade would have been good. Considering how many tables came in all at once, our food was fairly prompt. I’m looking forward to going back.

I can only speak for the pizza portion of the menu, but it is very good. I got the pizza rustica which had onions peppers olives. Normally comes with a white sauce but I asked for red sauce on it. Great local beers also on tap. Ambiance was nice. Cool looking bar and service was nice.

Fried Brussels sprouts with siracha aioli = amazing! Pizza was yummy too. Service was a bit slow but would definitely go back and try out some of the other different menu items they had.

This is a great option to have in Hardwick — the beer list is consistently strong and the pie’s not bad, either. They have slices available, but I prefer to order a whole pie if I have the time, I think it tastes better fresh and hot. Service at the bar is usually pretty good, although some bartenders are definitely more attentive than others. Although it’s part of a small chain(I’ve never been to the other branches), it feels like a neighborhood spot, which I like. I’ve never eaten anything but pizza here, so I can’t vouch for the rest of the menu, but I would definitely try it based on the quality of the pizza.

POSITIVEPIE — Hardwick, VT — 5÷26÷2015 Hardwick Vermont is a little town seemingly in the middle of nowhere… You don’t want to blink while driving thru or you might miss the town. It has a nice local flavour and it looks like the locals enjoy happy lives here… For lunch I had the Curry Pork Vegetable soup. Just the right amount of kick in a rich broth. Not much in the way of pork in this soup but it was really, really good. I think I counted 1 ½ small pieces of pork. I also had the Mista Salad consisting of Baby Greens, Oven Roasted Roma Tomato, Shaved Radish dressed in a Lemon Vinaigrette… I added Crumble Bleu Cheese to the top… Nicely plated and quite delicious! Next time you pass thru make sure you stop in here… They are quite friendly and the food is really good.

Pizza is decent, but the veggie burgers are the BEST I’ve had. And as a 10 year vegetarian, I’ve had more than my share of faux burgers.

I found this place while I was staying in the area. I stopped in twice. Lunch & dinner on two different days. Lunch was great. They have two slices plus soda special for $ 6.00 at the bar. I had buffalo chicken and broccoli pesto slices. Very good and nice size slices. Bartender was very nice. Space had a lot of customers for a weekday and quite a few people came in for to-go orders. Dinner was also good! The place was packed and it was Sunday night. We got seated right away, friendly staff and nice menu. The gnocchi was excellent and unusual. I saw a previous post say the gnocchi was bad but I disagree. The beans meshed well and the pesto was just perfect. We also had the hanger steak and it was delish. Only comment is the chimichurri sauce is not what we expected, it looked and tasted more like a tomato sauce, but good either way. They also have wifi and a good beer selection. I would highly recommend this place.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Positive Pie has a friendly, modern atmosphere that is a good place to come watch a game. It is casual and the bar staff are very friendly. The service is generally good. So are the pizza and hamburgers. That is The Good. However, other than pizza and burgers, the menu could use a complete revamping, with better dishes, other than the shrimp scampi. Some items are a complete«abomination», in the words of a friend, like Gnocchi with black beans. That’s The Bad. The Ugly is that they don’t always do a good job executing the dishes. Twice, my meat has been undercooked, including a burger which was raw in the middle. Once, they dumped practically an entire jar full of capers into my chicken dish. That’s The Ugly. Positive Pie is an okay place, but whether you like it or not depends on whether you experience The Good, The Bad or The Ugly. Edited to add: This location is temporarily closed because there was a fire. I knew their execution was poor, but this is the extreme. It seems that they cooked more than just the pizzas, but also the restaurant itself.

Great atmosphere and friendly and helpful staff. Our waitress was very helpful in helping me with my food allergies and my husband enjoyed the fantastic beer selection. Great meal(pork and pizza) and dessert(chocolate cake.)

$ 45 for lunch for one – 10″ pizza, soup and a pint is not sustainable in Hardwick, Vt… no wonder it was myself and only 1 other person at the bar. The chicken pot pie ‘special’ pizza was not good. And at $ 23, they should at least let you know when ordering! The bartender said she has been ‘fighting about the price of that for a while’. Keep up the fight! She said the gravy is house made… which was good, but needed a lot more in order to taste it. And she said the veggies were local, which is not true. It was improperly cooked frozen peas and and carrots. I basically had cheese and bread for $ 23. Not good. I won’t return after that experience.

Very good pizzas, creative special pies. Great table service. Some say pricey, I say good value for the money. The cost to run a business in Vermont is higher than in many other parts of the country.

Love this place. We went there last summer. Was a bit concerned because of the people complaining about the prices of drinks/beer/wine. I was a bit confused as I found the prices to be okay. Cocktails are rocking! I’m from NYC area so this was reasonable to me :) The food is wonderful and the pies are excellent. The wait staff are lovely! Perfectly attentive without being overbearing. It was a nice change from Claire’s which after awhile was getting pretentious and way over priced. We had lunch there as well and the sandwiches were perfect. Fresh and delicious! Will be in the area for a month in August and I can’t wait to go back :)

You will encounter good thin crust pizza, with slices available or just order your own pie. They have a nice beer selection, including some local Vermont options, a bit bummed they had nothing from their neighbors Hill Farmstead on(though I realize at other times they will have them represented). The staff is friendly and helpful. And the setting/décor is bright and inviting. One area of improvement would be lowering prices a bit. Whether it is working class locals or tourists coming through, since rent is quite affordable in Hardwick, it would be nice to not put such a dent in ones wallet for pizza and a beer.
