Mustang Wendy’s used to be a favorite for breakfast or lunch, however I was greatly disappointed with my first visit to the new location. The prices have never been great but it used to be worth it with their large portions and quality of food, but this time I paid 13 dollars for a meal I could have eaten 6 of and still been hungry. While the new location is very aesthetically pleasing, a restaurants top priority should be the food.

I went here for breakfast and it was absolutely amazing. I got the huevos rancheros and my bf got the breakfast burrito. We already cannot wait to go back. So good.

A little group of girls out shopping took shelter at the chef’s table one afternoon. To put palates in perspective, we’d just finished playing bouncing catch with Pinkie balls at The Rocking Horse Toy Company. The girls expanded their food experience with Eggs Hemingway which I was shocked to see a clean plate. It was a little fishy for my taste but my niece ate it up! The oatmeal brule was a comforting sweet adventure. My other niece says the chicken nachos were the best she’d ever had. I think she’s planning a repeat performance. I had the sourdough pancakes which were a special that day. They came with the most incredible bacon that was shared by all and had just the right ‘bite’. You definitely got the sourdough edge. ALMOST a savory pancake. but not quite. We would revisit this place in a heartbeat and expect great food and service. I wouldn’t expect anything but the best from MWs. GOODJOB, y’all.

On a recent expedition through Michigan, I decided on a whim to stay in Harbor Springs, and boy. was I glad I did! Charm and ski resorts aside, this towns true jewel is Mustang Wendy’s. I stumbled across it completely by accident, thought it looked inviting, and went on in. The service was stellar, and I mean STELLAR. I was never left wanting anything and I was never without a drink. I ordered the poutine and let me tell you. it was the BESTPOUTINE I’VEEVERHAD! I had half a mind to have it airlifted to friends and family around the globe! Accompanied by a couple of their stiff cocktails(on the surface you may think they’re average fruity cocktails, but let me assure you, they are not!) I went back to my hotel room and thought of nothing but getting back to Mustang Wendy’s for my next meal. For the first time in my Unilocaling experience, I found myself looking for a 6th star! I seriously can’t fault this place for anything, and I have dined from New York to San Francisco and from Chicago to New Orleans, but Mustang Wendy’s just did it for me more than anywhere else ever has. And that’s coming from me! Mister critical and impossible to please Anthony! I returned after snowboarding the following morning for brunch and was not disappointed. Their breakfast burrito was also the best I’ve ever had! If you are in Harbor Springs, you owe it to yourself to experience the culinary excellence that comes from Mustang Wendy’s kitchen. I can sing no higher praise and will definitely be going back!

Today was my first time back to Mustang Wendy’s since they opened their new restaurant in September and I wasn’t disappointed! Quite frankly it was even better! Walking in the door, I was greeted by a friend — Cheri with a nice hug and lots of smiles. Kathy our waitress had waited on me at the old restaurant and was just as efficient, attentive and friendly as could be even though the people were coming in the door every few minutes on this rainy Sunday morning. I tried the Hemmingway dish. OMG it was a fabulous presentation of poached eggs with a hollandaise-chipotle sauce over salmon, fresh spinach and tomatoes and potatoes. Will I return? And will I recommend it to all of my customers… in a heart beat!

A group of six friends ate there about a week before thanksgiving. We go about every week to different places for breakfast. The server had to let us in early because they don’t open until 9am. Little late for breakfast I think. The food was sub par. My meal was so greasy I had to get extra napkins to dab up the grease just so I could eat my over cooked eggs and blackened, greasy potatoes. Then the server tried to charge us for toast that was included in our meals. We pointed it out and she corrected the bill. People should know their menus, and perhaps have their cook/chef arrive early enough to remember how to cook basted eggs, not sunny side up! Good luck!

Service=great, food=good, prices=exorbitant! I understand the restaurant is in Harbor Springs, but come on, how about a place where locals can dine regularly without going broke

We had two outstanding breakfasts here. Great huevos rancheros and breakfast nachos(eggs, chorizo, pulled pork and cheese on «real» tortilla chips) for my part er and me; on our second morning there my partner reprised her nachos while I enjoyed an absolutely delicious smoked salmon eggs Benedict — layers of flavors. Our virgin bloody Marys were good as well; they also serve fresh-squeezed orange juice, a rare and wonderful treat in northern Michigan. We were also treated live music one morning. The atmosphere is fun/funky — think hipster cowboy — but also intimate; it’s a rather small dining area. Our service was wonderful, especially when we came back the next day; we really felt appreciated and taken care of.

New location… now serving dinner and sunday brunch as well as breakfast and lunch. Energetic atmosphere(a bit noisy). If you are seated near the door, it’s a bit chilly when people are coming and going. Drinks are over-priced and small($ 7.50 for a vodka/tonic?). Beware there’s a ‘split’ charge for sharing a salad(written in very fine print on the menu, but would’ve been nice if wait staff mentioned it as well). Filet of beef and short ribs were very good! Good portions as entrees come with starch and vegetable. Salmon has a ‘hot’ spice on top which detracts somewhat from the salmon. Menu is mainly beef, bison. One-man musician was good, but it’s such a small space, not sure that’s necessary.

We had lunch, and later, a cocktail here and both times the experience was a treat. Very local. Upscale. Good food and great service. I had the tacos(one pork, the other blackened shrimp) — wow they were great. Ask for some pico de gallo — and superb(more tomatoes, less onion, but still a good kick). Later we sat at the bar. Small but good selection of local craft beers and good wine by the glass list.

Come to mama! I loved mustang Wendy’s before, but now that they moved down the street and re-opened, they are a force to be reckoned with. The food is ABSOLUTELY amazing, the place is always busy with repeat customers and the daily breakfast/lunch specials are always awesome! In fact, I’m sending my husband to go pick up a to go order as we speak! Definitely worth eating here… Even if there is a long wait!

I’m sure it’s got great food, but we didn’t really stay long enough to find out. It is not a family friendly restaurant. Don’t go if you have children. I may bring my wife back someday for an anniversary, but our stop there with grandparents and our daughter was a waste of time and money.

Girls night out at the new location — googled phone number to make reservation, only to find out that it is now a residential number. The lady was extremely nice considering she has been receiving many calls for reservations and gave me the new phone number. We arrived at 6.30 pm, restaurant hopping with all tables full. We were seated immediately and our table was located at the back of the restaurant and extremely close to the kitchen/work stations(not recommended) — waiter very informed and we had great service. We ordered a bottle of wine from their wine list, only to be told that they were very low on wines and we were offered another choice which was not on the menu. When it came time to order, one of the girls requested the pheasant but was informed that they had ‘ran out’ — it’s only 6.45 pm… overall, our food selection was extremely pleasing, well presented and a lot of thought by the chef to take his/her cuisine to the next level. It was very clear that a lot of thought was spent on the décor which was an infusion of rawhide covered chairs, wood top tables, wonderful art and a great long bar for cocktails for social gatherings. I rated this restaurant a 5 because we all enjoyed all aspects of our evening together — only negative was the location of our table, and a few teething issues that the restaurant is experiencing which I know will be remedied as they have only been open 4 days. All in all, a job well done by all. Congratulations on your new endeavor — we will return.

Came into the new location a few days ago for their soft opening. The inside is SOCOOL. It’s trendy, comfortable, and exactly what harbor springs needed. Food was excellent per usual. My favorite place in Northern Michigan! Get the chuck wagon breakfast sandwich :)

One of the best breakfasts in town, now conveniently relocated to Bay Street with a gorgeous view of the harbor.
