Was driving to work this morning when my car just died — in the middle of the road — tying up traffic at rush hour. Had Steve’s need and phone in my address book as a friend had recently recommended the shop. Called AAA and had the car towed there — having never been there before.
Talked to Steve on the phone and explained what had happened just prior to the car dying. He said he would take a look at it — but off the top of his head it could be a fan belt, the battery or the alternator.
Early afternoon — call from Steve — car fixed — it was the alternator $ 303 (the part was $ 185). Went to pick it up at the end of the day… couldn’t have been nicer — answered a few questions I had, gave me an estimate on additional work I need done in the future (which I requested — he did not suggest it)
Bottom line — great service, honesty, integrity and fair prices. These are a lost art in car repair. The shop is a true working shop– don’t expect a cutesie waiting area and crap like that — this is a place where real mechanics work. Grease, grime, parts, cars and tools — and the shop dog too :)

steve’s is a no-​nonsense kind of place. just as Jim said, its a real working garage with several years of experience. steve is very upfront and treated me fairly.
i would highly recommend steve for anything with a transfer case.

Eventhough he couldn’t fix the problem (b/​c I have an AWD vehicle) he helped diagnose the potential problem w/​o charging me for running some tests… Even his dog is friendly!
