Southgate Liquor Store

This is definitely one of the smaller liquor stores but they have pretty much everything you could possibly need for making a great drink. The staff have always been good to me and being within a half mile of my home has always been a bonus.
side note: there are always unsavory peeps close by. It’s super sketch & sometimes scary

No problems. I’m always in and out in less than a minute and they always have what I want. Staff is friendly and professional.

It’s small and doesn’t have the biggest selection, but the prices are descent.
Also, the staff is friendly and there are some neat gift sets and specials.

Before we even get inside we notice a dirty man, and a very skankaliscious women propped up right outside the door. It was your typical 82^nd «forgotten peoples, broken dreams». I’m pretty sure a prostitute and her pimp were waiting outside, okay fine people gotta work… And liquor store does draw an interesting crowd especially on 82^nd. Both appeared to be drunk and/​or harder drugs.
**Worst service I have had at a liquor store… EVER! The guy behind the counter argued with me. He was rude to my friend and rude to me. I seriously hope it comes under new management/​ownership ASAP. If that was the owner, pretty sure the wanker was (old, wrinkly over tanned skin, salt&pepper hair, bad posture, shorter or at least had a slouch/​hump in his back). I don’t like drinking straight alcohol because I enjoy the taste of wine. Well done alcohol might taste better to you but I have a strong gag reflex and I hate the smell. I’m sure the little bottle is delicious, especially to your whores outside but I’m more of a wine drinker or occasionally margarita. I’m also smart enough to know you were being dismissive to my friend because we wanted a smaller bottle of knob creek, we wanted smaller bottles for portion control, not because we are cheap. You have a whore outside, do you really think its your place to judge us? You look really unhappy and are acting very unattractive, your going to only have whores and pimps at your business. I’m sure whores and pimps have EXCELLENT taste in liquor, good luck with that sour pus face. Karma is a bee-​atch.

Rude employees, terrible customer service. Unstocked shelves and irritated when asked about products.

Stopped in looking for bitters, which not all liquor stores carry, there were three people working the counter so someone was almost immediately helping me. He knew exactly where bitters was, rung me up and I was gone.
On a personal note, I don’t like liquor stores. It always seems like something might be about to go down. For a woman, too, they can be a sketchy experience. But I didn’t feel any weird vibes in here. I felt regarded and taken care of in the right way. So, that’s a major plus.

Uhh… the lady at the counter persuaded me that 1800 Reposado was «great» tequila. It should have been hint enough when she told me that Jose Cuervo was also good tequila.
Shit.
Now I just spent $ 15 on a baby bottle of 1800, and I’m going to have to find a better, more respectable gift… one that no one will laugh at.
