Amazing, great staff, great food. I come here at least once a week for lunch and have not been disappointed.

I LOVE me some Chick-Fil-A. Who doesn’t? Come on, those hot, crispy, salty, fun shaped pieces of heaven called Waffle Fries??? Forget about it! So Good! As an avid CFA lover, what a treat it was to finally visit the original Chick-fil-A! This location is right around the corner from my house and I’ve patronized the drive-thru but never got to go inside until this week. Established in 1946, this Chick-Fil-A is cool because it is the ORIGINAL Chick-Fil-A therefore it serves as kind of a mini museum. Besides the life sized statue of Truett Cathy sitting on a bench outside the restaurant, there are photos and plaques on the inside that tell you all about how CFA got its start and how the restaurant actually got its name. You also see pictures of the original building and can compare it to how it looks now. The little red Dwarf door is just the cutest thing ever, am I right?! My wife and I had to crawl through it because… I mean, who could resist? Honorable mention for sheer adorableness: The moving snow white and the seven dwarfs frame picture on the back wall of the restaurant… neat! The restaurant was impeccably clean with comfy booths and ample seating but my favorite part of the whole experience was the service! It felt like we were in an olé-timey diner where the wait staff was so super courteous, sweet and attentive and everything out of their mouths was, «it’s my pleasure ma’am.» I LOVEDIT! I saw on Andrea A’s review that the servers’ length of service is listed on their badges and some of them have been there for 15+ years! Wow I wish I’d known, that’s pretty cool. Next time I’ll be sure to look out for that. You will also find menu items here that you won’t find at just any CFA – such as fried okra and carrot-raisin salad. And for dessert apple turnovers and chocolate icebox pie! I tried the carrot raisin salad and it was okayyy but I probably wouldn’t order it again – the carrots were pretty mushy. Overall, this is a very fun location to eat at and every ATLien should visit at least once because it’s one of those rare Atlanta gems that just makes you feel like you’ve had a special experience. Since we ate here for lunch, I’d love to come back to try breakfast.

We dined in and ordered off The full menu. It’s diner style menu your typical classic breakfast like eggs bacon dried up toast. Everything was cooked in butter… Left our plates greasy. Service was good. Was nothing out of the ordinary he honestly I would just stick to their sandwiches

Chick-fil-A is amazing and this is the original Chick-fil-A so… Definitely gotta check this place out! Everybody gets a kick out of the fact that it’s got a diner attached, as well as a regular CFA. It definitely feels a little goofy sitting down and being able to order CFA menu items, as well as additional items that are just on the diner side, but you should do it at least once if you’re in the ATL area!

Recently stopped by here after finding out that this is the OG Chick-fil-A. Great diner type food with an expanded menu more that you would get at your typical mall restaurant. I had to try the ribeye steak with loaded baked potato. Notable mention here, they actually put slices of bacon on the baked potato! No bacon crumbles here! Also tried their homemade coconut cream pie. For a diner, the food was pretty good. The staff was courteous and looked genuinely happy to be there. If you’re in the Hapeville area, it’s worth checking out.

In all my years in Atlanta, I knew that Atlanta was home to Chickfila but never knew the original Dwarf House was right next to the airport. I took the opportunity to stop here while picking up a friend visiting from out of town. She loves Chickfila and can’t get enough of it. So of course, she was totally down. Chickfila breakfast is probably my favorite thing in the whole wide world. Who needs those fancy brunch benedicts and French toasts when you can have chicken mini’s? And on top of that, you can get mini circular hash browns??? What???(Ok sorry, being a little dramatic but for reals!!) We noticed they also had southern sides not found at any other location, so we had to get in an order of fried okra(yes, at 9:30am). Most of the other sides hadn’t been prepared yet in the morning, so we were lucky to even get the okra. The okra wasn’t bad. Not mind-blowing at all, but just an interesting offering for Chickfila. As we were leaving with our watered down coffees, we noticed there was actually a whole other restaurant on the left side. We had gone to the normal Chickfila restaurant, but there was the option of dining in the sit-down diner, which came with a full wait service. I may have to try that out next time. Did I also mention this place is 24⁄7? Well, except Sunday; that’s a given.

After living in Atlanta for more than 3 decades I happened upon this gem by complete accident. All I can say is why aren’t all chic-fil-a’s like this??? Oh my goodness this is the way it should be… Everything was perfect and now I shall miss this place every time I go to a «regular» chic-Fil-a :(

This is a unique Chick-fil-A that uses the Dwarf House concept. It is basically two restaurants in one. One section of the restaurant is your typical Chick-Fil-A quick-service that offers typical Chick-Fil-A food and service. Very good for what you get and the portions are huge — there was about 25% more grilled chicken breast than bun, for instance. You get the outstanding service that Chick-Fil-A is legendary more and even the management shows appreciation to their line employees for the hard work they do. Can’t ask for anything better… or can you? The other part of the Dwarf House is a sit-down diner. Here you can order food for breakfast, lunch and dinner and you are not restricted to just chicken here. Want a hamburger? You can get one. The Chick-Fil-A cows may not like it, but you’re the customer. Only downside is that seating is limited here, so if you come during the lunch rush you have to wait a while for an open seat or you end up in the fast-food section of Chick-Fil-A. Speaking of lines, they have a dual-lane drive-thru at this location. Even hours before lunch, both lanes fill up with customers quickly. So, get here early if you want prompt, efficient service. Do so, and you’ll have a good time. Also can’t forget about some of the artifacts outside the diner, such as a bench with S. Truett Cathey’s statue and a small red door for«dwarves» to enter through. Great restaurant in the heart of downtown Hapeville.

The drive thru is the worst I have ever seen. This place is packed all the time and the drive thru is always 15 to 20 min. Cold food when you get there. Staff is unprofessional looking and needs better customer service skills. This is the original ChicFilA, so it is a shame to see this type of service at this location. Cold fries today for the 3rd time.

The first Chick-fil-A lives up to the hype. Half of the restaurant is a typical fast food restaurant and drive through but it’s the other half that really stands out. The Dwarf House functions as a modern day diner, open 24/7, and serving the traditional diner fare from waffles, eggs, and grits to steak. The dwarf house has everything you would expect from a down home diner, friendly and attentive staff with delicious comfort food all at just the right price point. I stopped in here after touching down at Atlanta-Hartsfield for a business trip. I encourage, nay I demand that anyone flying into Atlanta should stop in here before heading on to their destination.

I can’t believe I went all these years living in Atlanta without coming here. This Chick-fil-A has two separate parts: a regular fast food Chick-fil-A and the Dwarf House sit-down experience. The former needs little to no explanation, but the latter is an experience onto itself. Closer to a Waffle House than a Chick-fil-A but also with dwarf animated decorations and a red dwarf door. The sit down portion includes a separate menu including grits, hot brown(casserole dish with chicken, potatoes, gravy, and bacon), and steak(gasp!). I guess the cow marketing tactic only applies to the fast food chain? I had the chicken platter, which is essentially the #1(Chick-fil-A sandwich with waffle fries) on a plate instead of fast food wrappings. Just as delicious as always. Dining companion M had the hot brown, which was a solid choice as well. Service is hospitable, fast, and charming. Feel free to grab a Chick-fil-A souvenir on your way out – including shirts, mugs, and stuffed cows.

My favorite spot when I’m craving for a chicken sandwich. Today I had a cheese burger with fries, strawberry milk shake, and a salad. I been coming in here for over 13 years. Some of the same workers from back in the day lol. Service is a bit slow, but what do you expect when it’s busy. I love the older ladies that work in there. They just keep pushing and tugging along.

One of the busier Chic-Fil-A restaurants in the state. This is a dwarf house and it is the closest decent restaurant to the airport. They have two drive thrus to accommodate for the many customers. I have been here a few times and it is always full, regardless of the hour of day. My food was great and I chose to eat it while waiting in the cell phone lot at Hartsfield. The only bad part is getting here from the exit… the first time you drive out you might feel like you’re driving towards an abandoned side of town, but keep following your GPS and your hunger craving!

I love this place. First of all it’s open 24 hours(except for Sunday) great for late night cravings. Kind of reminds me of the waffle atmosphere at night but with much better service and food. During the day a total family joint. Also a local favorites with delta and Porsche employees. Expanded menu is awesome. Good home cooking with reasonable prices.

Getting to come here was a bit of a special treat, especially since it’s the chicken magic started, there’s a dwarf door, and I’m not usually around this area very often. I’m stoked that I got to visit before moving away. Breakfast here really hit the spot after physically being in 3 states before 7:30 am. After a few pictures, staring at Mr. Cathy, and crouching to get through the small door, we were seated on the diner side. I ordered chicken minis, with 2 eggs, and grits. Everything was as expected; chicken minis and impeccable service like at a regular chick-fil-a, and the sides like most other diners. The grits were actually surprisingly pretty tasty. Lots of interesting things that you wouldn’t normally find inside a Chick-fil-a, including a moving Snow White themed painting! It’s open 24/7, except for that it closes on Saturday night to give its workers the trademark Sunday off. Overall, it’s definitely worth checking out for the history and novelty of it, but I’m not quite dying to return.

I was first here in 1946 after the War when I was three-years-old. Then it was simply the Dwarf House. It is my favourite diner in the world. The chicken salad sandwich was my favourite item and it still is. Mr Cathy used to make them in person in 1946. Don’t tell the cows, he also grilled great burgers back then His breakfast was top notch and the business still pays attention to that meal. This is not breakfast as Café Louis in Baton Rouge but it is more than enough for a Saturday morning late breakfast. This is more than Mecca for me though it is indeed the center of the world for diners. M Hapeville is worth seeing just for the history alone. Delta Airlines is still nearby though Porsche has replaced Ford Motor Company as the other major company in town. The airport workers and auto workers built this first in the empire place. Mr. Cathy always had a flare for design and his first Dwarf was a marvel with much more to come over the decades. Atlanta has many diners who became famous chains but the two iconic fast food places were and still are this little place in Hapewille with its sibling in Forest Park and their neighbour on North Avenue and other places – the Varsity – the cornerstones of pop culture in Atlanta, right up there with Coca-Cola. I still go for the chicken salad sandwich but there is always much more to celebrate. I admired Mr. Cathy. He treated me like a regular customer(which I was) when I was a lad. I did not agree with him in all ways but he was a heck of fellow.

The ORIGINAL Chick Fil A!!! …or the dwarf house. Let the haters hate, this is where it all began. The Garden of Eden of the fried chicken sandwich. Diverse menu that includes burgers… YGTBFKMCFA!!! sweet potato Souflee, mac n’ cheese, and a variety of other traditional Southern menu options. As with nearly all CFAs, staff was friendly and courteous and the restaurant was clean. Make a pilgrimage to the alter… just not on Sunday!

Well, it’s your typical Chick-Fil-A, but not really your typical Chick-Fil-A because it is, after all, the first Chick-Fil-A ever. They offer the same awesome service that you’d get at any other chick-fil-a location, but you add the fact that this place opens 24 hours/day(except Saturday when they close at 10 pm and they don’t open Sundays) so you never have to worry about having a chick-fil-a craving at odd hours of the day. They have free WiFi and they also offer food that you won’t find at your typical Chick-Fil-A and they have two sections for dining. One is for us regular people, and the other section is supposedly for servers(at least from the sign). They also sell souvenirs for you to take home. This is, after all, the first Chick-Fil-A ever. Come here to take pictures, to see the birthplace of Chick-Fil-A. Try the non-chick-fil-a menu. If you’re a visitor, this place is minutes away from the airport so it’s not that far of a drive Seriously, just go check it out.

Dwarf Door Chick-Fil-A will forever hold a place in my heart. Let me paint you a picture: Our flight was delayed and we’re trapped at our layover in Atlanta overnight without a car. Our travel plans for that night were ruined. Delta Airlines has been rude and unhelpful. Our day has pretty much been garbage. It’s midnight and everything is closed. Enter Chick-Fil-A. The moment you walk in through that tiny door, I swear you’re taken to real-life Disney world. The waitresses are like those sassy diner waitresses that are your best friends secretly that you’ve always seen in movies, except they’re not sassy at all and just completely sweet. They’ll walk your plane-addled minds through this menu(they have beef burgers?!) and tell you about the history of this location. Strangers will laugh, nobody is capable of sadness here. I ordered hot brown(which I’d never had before). I don’t think it’s close to the authentic Kentucky hot brown from what I’ve read on Wiki, but it was pretty delicious. A little crazy unhealthy; it comes with a side salad. Don’t do what I did and swap that out for fries. The salad here is crisp looking and delicious. Vegetables are nice. The sundaes here are also great. ANDTHENTOTOPTHISWONDERFULEXPERIENCEOFF, A PASSINGSTRANGERPAIDFOROURMEAL. Thank you stranger. Thank you sweet waitress. Thank you 24-hour Chick-Fil-A. Thank you Atlanta.

This vintage diner is located about seven miles south of downtown Atlanta in sleepy Hapeville, Georgia.(Is Hapeville still a sleepy town now that the Porsche headquarters is there?) The place is steeped in Chick-Fil-A history and on several occasions I’ve seen groups taking tours of the kitchen. On one side of the Dwarf House is a typical Chick-Fil-A fast food counter where you can place orders off the drive thru menu. The other side there is a diner counter, retro stools and plush booths so that you can sit down and savor your meal on a plate. For some reason, the diner side is a magnet for senior citizens, police officers and firefighters. Aside from the Chick-Fil-A chicken, the food is amazingly average. The breakfast items(Grits, Eggs, Toast) are all good but in a standard way. The lunch items Mac and Cheese, Sweet Potato Casserole, Greens) are on par with standard southern cafeteria food. Everything is tasty and filling even if unimaginative. I do like the fact that they display the calorie information right on the menu. I’m there to consume all things buttery and fried but I appreciate having full information. I’m pretty sure that other diners like being able to make informed decisions too. Three stars for the food with a fourth added for service. Many of the waitresses have been working at this same location for 15+ years; their length of service is on their name tags. They have southern sweetness on lock. No matter which one of them serves me I’m almost guaranteed to be called Sweetie, Honey or Sugar at some point. The Dwarf House is a good place for a down-home southern meal and courteous service. If nothing else, stop in to have a meal at the original Chick-Fil-A.

The first ever Chick Fil A! If you are a Chick Fil A fan, and are in the Atlanta area– you need to make a stop here. This location offers a drive through, regular quick serve, and sit down service. The sit down service is the best, and draws a line, for the shortest wait and quickest service take a seat the bar. The sit down section offers all day breakfast and other unique menu options that all Chick Fil A’s do not offer. The regular quick serve is a bit slow, but the people behind the register are the friendliest you will ever meet. You can also purchase merchandise from them such as pens, shirts, cows, coffee mugs, water bottles, etc. I would suggest putting your merchandise order in before you eat since they’re a little slow. This location is not ideal for large groups as none of the seating can accommodate it unless you are willing to split up. And yes, you can use the small dwarf door!

I give this place 5 stars not for the food(which is on par with any diner or regular Chick-Fil-A) but for the experience. After going to the CFA Home Office Backstage Tour and finding out the original restaurant was only 10 minutes away, we had to complete our«CFA Day» with lunch here. It just happened to be that Bubba Cathy, one of Truett’s sons and SVP of CFA, was there and introduced himself as we were waiting in line for a seat! We recognized him having just seen him on the video we were shown on the tour. He was there for lunch with some people himself, so it was cool to see. Our waitress was Victoria who had worked there for 16+ years and she was soooo sweet, constantly asking us how we were doing, apologizing for keeping us waiting because she was waiting on Bubba, and when we said we understood because she was waiting on the big boss, she said she treats us all the same. Before we left she told us some stories about growing up with the Cathy family and I was enamored with the pride that she had for them and her place of employment. Anyway foodwise, get the hot brown, and just enjoy the fact that you’re eating at the place where it all began. Also it’s open 24 hours(except Sunday of course!) and close to the airport so stop by if you can.

I use to live very close to the first Chick-Fil-A restaurant. So coming to this place aways bring back memories of coming with my mom to this place. Even tho they have modernized the place a bit, they always have the same dwarf house and same asesome customer service. Oh and besides chicken, they do have steak which isn’t on the menu. And like their other chains, they are closed on Sundays.
