We walked in the office to rent a trailer and were greeted by a man who grunted at us. I think he was trying to say hello. He was the rudest individual I have ever met. We must have been inconveniencing him by just being there. He said he had no trailers though we saw 5 of them lined up outside. No explanation. He talked to us like we were idiots. We walked out and went elsewhere.

Don’t do it! Go to Home Depot and rent a Penske truck. I have rented several Penske trucks over the years and this is my first experience with U-Haul. The vibe in the office was like a funeral home, no greeting, no smiles, no «hi, how are you today», just an extremely quiet worker that gave me the impression that I was an inconvenience to him. Check-in was fast though which I appreciated. My truck was old, dirty, the brakes were low and it felt unsafe. I couldn’t believe they still rented this truck with 100,000 miles on it to people (at the full rate!!).
U-Haul trucks are expensive to rent, don’t be fooled to by «$ 29.99!». In addition you have to pay .89 per mile and you need to refill the tank. At the end of the day it cost me almost $ 150 to rent a 10′ truck for 8 hours. Rip-off and a terrible experience, will stick with Penske.
