Delicious, everytime we eat there! Both the hubachi and sushi are always so good! The Big Easy is always my faborite and the tempura rolls, too!

I’d highly recommend the Shrimp Pad Thai, but with a disclaimer. Many places offer some version of this classic Thai dish, some good and some awful. What Aki serves as Shrimp Pad Thai is absolutely nothing like the traditional dish, but it’s completely amazing. It’s loaded with fresh vegetables, tons of shrimp, and is a fairly large portion. The sauce is light and wonderfully flavorful, but again, nothing at all like traditional Pad Thai. It’s a very original take on a classic dish and one that will surely delight the palette. I’m still not even sure why they call it Pad Thai(except maybe for the noodles) but I’ve probably eaten it 20 times, and I’ll be having it again, and again, and again. Service here has always been good. Some may see this place as pricey it’s my opinion that you get what you pay for. The food is always very fresh, quality ingredients, wonderfully prepared, and generously portioned. A definite«A+» for consistency.

The dine in option is delicious — if you’re in the mood for sushi, Aki has creative rolls and dishes that you should definitely taste! I am a big fan of the 214 Roll as well as the Orange Dragon roll. If you’re not a sushi fan, they have great entrees even some from the hibachi grill. Hibachi fried rice is absolutely delicious, hearty, and very filling. Aki also has a lunch option if you’re looking for a light, fresh, sushi lunch or a bento box. I haven’t tried the hibachi grill yet, but I am looking forward to the experience for a special event like a birthday or celebration.

We have loved Akai since it opened but on Saturday we went there for lunch and discovered that the portions were drastically reduced on the rolls. They used to be 8 pieces and now are six and the diameter is also much smaller. I would have preferred a price increase or at least to be informed that they have made such a drastic change. As much as i have enjoyed going there I will be going to Blue Koi or Full Moon more now. It is a shame when greed gets in the way of good service and a good restauratn

Sushi is to die for. So good. I had the California Dinner(California roll, spicy California roll and tempura California roll). It was nicely displayed and price is great for all the food you get. Restaurant was beautiful, very clean and orderly. One of the nicest Japanese restaurants around. I will be recommending and going back for sure.

This is one of the best sushi place around the York, Hanover, and Thomasville area I have come across. The fish is fresh, service good, and comfortable seating. They just need to get their alcohol license!

We took my parents here for their anniversary dinner. They had never experienced hibachi before, but were totally taken by the whole presentation. The restaurant itself is very clean and the atmosphere is very inviting. The staff was very sensitive to any allergies our table company had, which was refreshing. Although hibachi can tend to be on the expensive side, we all had to take food home, so the cost was justified. I should note, this is a very fun place to go for your birthday. They gave me a hat to wear, provided free dessert(fried cheesecake and ice cream) and then took a family photo and printed it for us to keep. I’d love to go back for sushi soon!

I have been here a few times and keep coming back. The first time eating here I sat on the hibachi side of the restaurant. The presentation was great and our chef was very entertaining. He even made the kids smile after they got frighten by the onion volcano he lit on fire. I order the chicken and steak. The steak was cooked perfectly(medium rare) and served with a generous portion of fried rice. They had two different kinds of dipping sauce. I was not a fan of one but the light colored sauce was delicious. For a family of 5 the bill was on the higher side. On my second visit we opted to sit in the dining room side. They gave us our own private booth. We ordered the sushi this time around. The menu had many choicest I choose from. I went with the Aki roll(White tuna and Banana tempura, spicy kani and shrimp, tobikos, topped with avocado, shrimp tempura, eel sauce and spicy sauce). The thought of banana in a sushi roll was strange but it worked. My third visit I came for lunch with a friend. We sat in the dining room side once again. The place seemed clean just as it had in the first two visits. Except the lobby area when we first walked in. It had a nasty odor I hoped didn’t linger into the restaurant. We both order different sushi rolls. This time I order the Spicy Maki combo(Spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spicy yellowtail roll). Even though they say spicy they usually are not but I didn’t really mind. I also ordered a side of eel sauce for dipping(a co-worker of mine suggested it) I can honestly say the eel sauce is my go to over soy. It’s sweet and if you dip the sushi in both eel and soy you get that sweet and salty combo. YUM!

I finally made it out to Aki to try their sushi, and I’m glad that I did. It was excellent! The dining room is very nice, clean, and there are separate tables from the area where they do the hibachi. There are a lot of choices on the menu. I had a hard time deciding on which sushi rolls to get. They all sounded excellent. I settled for the Thai Spicy(Shrimp Tempura, Spicy Crab, Cilantro, topped with sliced fresh jalapeño and sriracha) and a Spicy Tuna roll. Both of these rolls were great. I will definitely be going back to Aki, and hopefully I’ll try the hibachi at some point too.

This place is absolutely amazing! The sushi is always very good and the Dynamite Roll in particular is a truly orgasmic experience. The staff is extremely friendly and very eager to please as well. I love the décor and hope this place is around for a long time. I have been to Blue Koi as well and I highly prefer Aki, try it!

This is my FAVORITE restaurant, hands down. I love this place! I always get the sushi, and I’ve had a lot of sushi. Some bad, some good, but the sushi here is delicious. Tons of variety too! The seating is really nice in the dining area, very«private»… It’s a nice change! Also have to mention that the hibachi side is nice too. And the food over there is really good! I just prefer the dining side because most of the time I go for the sushi. Definitely give this place a try, I recommend it to everyone :)

We come here every time we visit my parents who live in town. Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had and have never had a bad dish. They always have some new and unusual specials and a huge menu. Definitely some of the best shrimp tempura I’ve had. If you like sushi, don’t miss this place it’s great!

Like Joy W. said, Hanover now has a 3rd Great Sushi/Japanese restaurant again. It’s fabulous! First time there tonight and we enjoyed a J1 Roll, Six Flags, Dragon and Summerbreeze were all incredible!

God has gifted the city of Hanover once again with an amazing Japanese restaurant that will blow your mind.(The first being Blue Koi). Aki is located directly across from the mall in a stand alone building on Carlisle near the Eisenhower intersection. Right when I walked in, the waterfall wall was a clue that this was not going to be my typical Hanover experience. When I walked up to the hostess, the room glowed with blue and purple lights against the dark wood. It was like walking into the W hotel in Atlanta. The ceiling décor definitely has a modern Asian theme to it. The menu itself is extensive and tantalizing, especially the specialty rolls. I ordered the sashimi salad with wasabi mayo as an appetizer. Gosh that was so flavorful and refreshing while getting my raw fish fix for a moderate price($ 10). I also ordered the Tiger roll which is a grilled spicy tuna, avocado and crab roll topped with spicy crab and spicy shrimp($ 11). Yummm. The service is good. These people are dedicated! Almost all of them live in New York but come here to work. They only go home about twice a month! Now that is called dedication to good sushi. I think this ranks as one of the top 2 restaurants in Hanover, and you definitely need to make your way here if you haven’t yet. I know I’ll be coming back!
