First review I ever wrote… awful dining experience at the Asian Café. I went with two of my co-​workers on our lunch break, to only end up watching my co-​workers eat their meals. I was told the Pad Thai that I had ordered, «would be out shortly» three separate times. When my friends were just about finished with their meals, I told the waitress that I’d either order something else quickly, or I didn’t want to have to pay for the meal that has yet to come out within the 15 minutes that I had left to eat. Finally, when the food did come out, they told me I wouldn’t have to pay, and ‘they chose’ an extra side of food for the inconvenience for their food printer not working properly in the kitchen. They claim this was to blame for the delay. Then at the end, they insisted that I pay for the meal after being told I wouldn’t have to??? Very dissatisfied.

Haven’t been here in a few years so my husband and I decided to stop by. We didn’t order anything fancy, just a few rolls and an Asian dish.
My husband ordered shrimp tempura roll and chicken and broccoli. The roll was missing flavor while the texture of the chicken was rubbery.
I ordered two rolls, the boston roll and the American roll. The meat in the boston roll (not sure if it was shrimp or crab) was chewy and my other roll was baked and crispy, and since it was baked (the item description didn’t say it was going to be served hot), the cream cheese that was in the roll was like lava and burnt my tongue. My husband and I both tried it and we both said ‘I don’t like it’ couldn’t even describe why. For what we ordered, it was $ 40! Not worth it at all.
Used to be great now seems to be sadly going down hill

I am all about Asian Café! Now, it’s partly because of a lack of any sort of respectable Asian cuisine in the Hanover/​Nanticoke/​Plymouth area. I mean … there’s nothing around here worth frequenting when it comes to Asian.
Asian Café offers a split restaurant with one side for take-​out and the other side a sushi/​dining room/​hibachi area. This, for starters, is a huge win. The menu has a range of foods including Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and sushi. It’s all reasonably priced and prepared quicker than you expect. Just the other day I placed an order for a few rolls and lunches and I was stunned to hear my name called in only 10 minutes!
Four stars for being rock-​solid and not to mention, tasty. You can find a couple 5-​star Asian spots a 10-​minute drive away in Wilkes-​Barre. Note: Asian Café is not in Wilkes-​Barre — Unilocalers just tend to think it is.

I love this place! I’ve never been disappointed. The food is great and the portions are a good size. The staff is always wonderful. It’s my favorite place for sushi. I’ll go out of my way to get sushi from the Asian Café. It seems as though they do a lot of take out business. There are always people coming and going to pick up their food.

Service is always friendly, even if there are some language barriers. The crab rangoon appetizer is the best I’ve ever had. A good variety of Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes. Everything we’ve had here is a very decent sized portion, cooked well, flavored well.

best chinese in the area. singapore mei fun my friend ordered was out of this world. i have since tried sesame chicken, sushi, chicken fried rice, crab rangoon, hot & sour soup. .. never disappointed, attentive staff, great prices, what more can you ask for?

I have been going to Asian Café ever since it has opened. The food has been amazing every time I had gone since the business began, but I have noticed the portions of food are decreasing. The sushi bar is also fantastic, and a few times the sushi chef let me sample some different items from it. Overall, I would have given Asian Café 5 stars, but the portions have gotten much smaller since it first opened.

This is the place for Chinese in the W-​B area. (Can’t comment about their Japanese food, although I’ve heard that’s great, too.) I can’t count how many times I’ve eaten here and I’ve never had a bad order. My fav is the Cheese wonton (crab rangoon) appetizer; the moo shu is prepared tableside (you can eat-​in or take-​out.). The portions are a good size, it’s a value, the staff is attentive and the place is clean. Add delicious food and you have a winner.

Came here for lunch while visiting my company’s Wilkes-​Barre office. I ordered the sushi/​sashimi combo. I almost couldn’t believe my eyes when i saw the amount of food i got! And it was only $ 11! Whoah. I think one California roll is about that much in San Francisco! My co-​workers got chinese broccoli and chicken. They loved the food too! I totally recommend this place. Very convenient and easy to find (look for the Gerritys in the Hanover Mall.) I will definitely be back when I am in the area.
