SO I am reading about this woamn and at 6:10 am I decide to call becasue this sounds too good to be true and low and behold she answers, and is as professional as she can be AND, I get an appointment for 3:30pm today. Praise the Lord!!! I’ll keep you posted on the outcome but she is so professional I am only expecting the best…
So, I saw Sherrie late yesterday and she was great! I was very indecisive (which is unusual) and vacillated from cutting it all off to leaving it long and growing it more. She took the time to flesh it out and I walked out with a plan and q beautiful head of silky hair. She is professional, timely, you get personalized treatment. I am going back on Saturday…

Until recently, I have avoided getting my hair done professionally due to rising financial costs and lack of satisfaction after my hair was done. It seemed as if right after I had my appointment, I was «in need» of another one.
I began doing my own relaxer from box at home over ten years ago, I was okay with the results considering the fact that I was saving money and it seemed to last longer than salon perms. But overall I was not happy with how my hair looked no matter how I styled it. I hated my hair. To the point where I thought about shaving my hair off and starting anew. Thank goodness I didn’t.
A friend asked me to stand in their wedding, which meant I had to get my hair done. In my opinion, my natural hair wasn’t fit to be styled for a wedding, so I searched the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago for a hair stylist/​professional who could do hair extensions and make me wedding ready.
The main thing I wanted is personal attention and to not have 2 or more people working on my hair.
I stumbled upon the website for Se’ Mo Hair. After reading over the site and seeing photos and reviews/​testomonials, I decided to call for a free consultation. After I met with Sheri, I knew I was in good hands. I could tell that she loves what she does and wants her clients to have healthy hair.
Sheri did an excellent job on my hair! I got lots of complements on my hair too. The thing that sets Sheri apart for other stylists/​professionals is that she educates you about your hair and how to promote healthy hair growth.
UPDATE: I recently had my extensions removed after a little over three months, and it did last that long! I had Sheri give me a blow dry, flat press, and style. It sounds so simple, but my actual hair looks great. So much so, that I am going to do the relaxer conversion package next time to help me to grow out my relaxer.

For years now, I’ve kept a mental «wish-​list» for my perfect hairstylist. *Must be professional & respect my time. *Work on one client at a time regardless of how long it takes. *Not use «assistants» but work on your clients hair start to finish with no interference. *Demonstrate excellent knowledge of hair minus stereotypical hang-​ups & beliefs. *Be willing to educate me on how to take care of my hair at home with actual steps & product recommendations. *Display an interest in keeping my hair healthy & maintain a file of my progress. Now, this list goes on because I’ve yet to meet anyone to fit the bill. I’ve had maybe 20 stylists throughout my life & only 3 were even worth mentioning, until now.
A few weeks ago, I came across the salon name «Se Mo Hair» while browsing Unilocal for a new AA stylist based in the NW burbs. I found a thread with a list of salons meeting this criteria. Several are no longer in business & I had a «been there, done there» experience with two of them then I read an unfamiliar name (Se’ Mo Hair) so I googled it & came across stellar reviews though surprisingly none on Unilocal.I then called & spoke to Sheri who was so polite, professional & welcoming over the phone & even more so in person.
During my first appointment, Sheri gave it to me straight (my hair is damaged & very dry). I knew about the dry part but was surprised to hear about the damaged part. I mean, I knew I had **some** breakage that I was trying to grow out. Mind you, I’ve had a steady stylist for a few years now & the dryness was a consistent concern while the breakage was just mentioned in July. Ugh!
Sheri suggested a wonderful new regimen for my hair & while I was ready to get a relaxer touch-​up, Sheri’s knowledge, expertise & suggestions convinced me to go another way. She knows her stuff & on so many different levels of hair care. I consider myself well versed in the area of skin & hair maintenance but she dispelled myths that I believed to be true. I’m 35 & this is the longest I’ve ever gone sans relaxer (4 months) & I don’t plan on returning. I couldn’t believe how bouncy, shiny, smooth & straight Sheri was able to get my hair without using chemicals, intense heat or overly saturated products.
My hair has never looked so healthy, bouncy & shiny — I’m amazed by my results & it’s only been a few weeks. Suffering from PCOS, I lost a lot of hair in 07 & it’s been a love/​hate relationship with my hair every since but I am starting to LOVE my hair again & can’t wait to see what else Sheri has in store for me. She meets ALL of my wish-​list requirements & I never thought I’d say such a thing. Ever.
