I haven’t been to the Fox theatre since I was in the 6th grade for a D.A.R.E. ceremony. Anyhow, it is very unfortunate that they only have country music artists play at the Fox theatre. There is never a mixture of any other musical act, nor an act that would attract any other race attend the theatre. Besides the comedian George Lopez doing his stand up there several years ago, just seems the owner prefers an all«white» crowd to attend the Fox theatre.

Very rude owner. The theater seems nice and the seating is fine, although old. Bathrooms are very very old. But the owner who seems to sell tickets and let his dogs roam the theater(they were at the front doors barking as we bought our tickets, and we saw him walking them later) was very rude. I thought maybe it was just his sense of humor but then we had another run in with him at the show and it turned out he was just a rude man.

Im not one to leave reviews… especially bad ones but the owner of this place is VERY unprofessional!. We went to the fox for the day after thanksgiving movie for the kids like we have for the past 15 or so years. We went to lunch and then got to the theater an hour early to get in line. We were caught off guard to see the doors were already open and we rushed in to get our normal spots hoping they were still available. We didnt even think about our sodas(I am truly sorry about bringing them in and know it shouldnt have happened) we were in our seats about 5 minutes and this guy comes ovwr to us actually pushing a woman out of his way and started yelling… whatd do you think your doing! You cant do this. I had no idea what was going on and he then grabbed our sodas and yelled im going to have to search your bag you have food in there dont you…(there was no food) I told him I was sorry and tried to explain what happened but he just kept yelling and said ill call the cops … I did not argue at all with him and proceded to throw our drinks out. he kept yelling and when we got to the trash he said your not coming back get out… I couldnt believe how crazy he was acting(in front of my kids at that) so I said if im leaving give me my stuff back. He said no and ripped the other drinks out of my hand and thrw them away. He then pushed my shoulder and said now get out as I was at the edge of the stairs almost knocking me down the steps! I told hem to get his hands off of me and stop pushing me or I would be the one calling the police. He backed up and started to go off yelling and went to get the rest if the people with me… he yelled at my friend that he was the owner and to leave…(they were all already up and leaving just trying to get the rest of our kids together) I know I made a mistake by taking the drinks in but he went to far. No way should he treat people this way! Wow. By the way to the owner if you are reading thia and I hope you do… it was an honest mistake and you are crazy… and lucky I did not call the police and press assult charges I sure hope you sont do this to other people.

I love this intimate venue. One of my favorite things they do are silent movies with a live organ player. I have friends drive up from San Diego just to enjoy this jewel of Americana.

the evening with diana krall concert. she so great, love her voice and stage personality. she did a song from antonio carlos jobin and perked it up nicely. we own quite a bit of her music, but, we were sold front row seats for 98.00 with no view except under the piano, her legs, and a huge speaker not more than 6 feet from my face. that was really disappointing, and the attitude of the 2 men standing outside the concert doors(who had on name tags) made us feel like we were not good enough fans of ms. krall, in that we should just appriciate the fact that we were there at all. the person that saved our evening(we drove for an hour to get there), was the wonderful woman(blonde?) working in the ticket booth, she had a, what can i do for you to fix this situation attiude. she promptly gave us new seats in a great area right away so we just missed one song. i dont know who she is but if she were my employee i would make sure not to lose her to another place. its people like her that can make or break what is surpose to be a special evening. thank you who ever you are!

In my opinion, the theater is one of the more beautiful buildings in Hanford & I’ve had the honor of seeing a show(does anyone remember kathy griffin came to hanford?!). Every now and again, Hanford will pull some names like kathy griffin or george lopez(tix still on sale) as comedic acts and several musical acts. What i think is really cool is they still play silent movies — complete with an ORGAN. I dont know if you know, but that’s pretty special. I was able to hear the beauty of an organ in SF, when i was in their Castro theater. Definitely awesome. Seeing a silent movie here is definitely on my bucket list! in the winter time, they’ll show a family movie with free admission — just bring a few cans for their food drive. With its location, it’s definitely worth an outing if you plan right ;) Also, how romantic is it, really? I have a friend whose husband proposed to here at Civic Park across the street — he had the marquee spell out his proposal. for our engagement pics, my honey and i decided to do the same — have our names on the marquee. AWESOME. I’m still on the high of seeing our names on the marquee! excuse me as i take THAT off my bucket list, hehe. It was really easy too. i called ahead & was told i’ll get a call back with a quote(if that day was available) — i heard back a short few hours later. i assume the quote has to do with factors like the day, the time of day, and for long. she was able to get our names up there around 2pm(and i only asked her to put it up by 3 :)). Our pics weren’t taken til around 7:30 honestly, but i just wanted to see our names up, so i couldnt have been more happier that the nice box office lady hooked me up with an extra hour! Oh, and i know you’re dying to know how much we paid — $ 150. totally reasonable for a piece of local radness in our engagement pics!

Until this year I’d never been to this theatre except once in high school to listen to a political speech, despite having grown up in the neighboring town of Lemoore. My boyfriend’s friend invited us to watch the Avett Brothers and what a time it was! I was surprised by what a nice theatre Hanford Fox is. I loved the old-time feel and the sound quality was great. The staff were very nice and you can order beer and wine(relatively cheap too) upstairs and drink on the top floor or on the balcony facing the scenic old courthouse and bastille. Hopefully more great acts will come through because I would love to keep coming to this theatre.

This place has the best sound in Northern California. If you can manage to make it out here for a band you love, it will be the best concert going experience of your life. I have been here twice to see the Avett Brothers, and boy what a show. The theater is amazing. It has been fully restored and is a diamond in the rough. The upstairs is reserved for 21+ and there is a small bar that sells very inexpensive pitchers. The two men who take care of you at the bar are darlings. You can bring your pitcher to your seat. The seats upstairs are great. Huge and comfy… AND there is a table to rest your beer on between seats. No spilling your pitcher here! If you can manage situate yourself in the middle of the theater, right behind the banister. If you manage to score these seats, you are in for an auditory delight. I can’t recommend this place enough. They mostly put on country shows and it makes me wish they would broaden their horizons. But, if you like some country or bluegrass keep your eyes peeled and head on down to Hanford!

I made the drive several years ago to see George Jones perform here. Outdoors was the requisite giant fiberglass KJUG106.7(Tulare) moonshine jug on a trailer. Indoors was another thing entirely. This old dame had just been completely restored to its original 1929 glory. The place was gilded to the hilt with celestial stars on a deep blue ceiling and gorgeous mission-style fixtures. Let me tell you what… these folks may work with livestock by day, but they really appreciate true beauty at night, even if they are in cowboy boots and hats. The entire experience was unforgettable! The folks were hospitable, without a hint of irony. Everyone reveled in hearing a living legend perform in this heavenly place.
