This is my first review on Unilocal… So with that said, I fell in love with this Gallery!!! Susan Kaohelaulii was so kind and gracious. I came in with my husband and 10 yr old son. I know children and art studios do not usually mix but my son is very interested in art. He won for our school district art show 4th grade 1st place this year and last year took 3rd place. So he loves art. He was so welcomed here. I fell in love with Camille Fontaine’s work… so much so I came back to the Gallery twice in the week and half that we stayed in Kapaa. No short trip to Hanapepe. Sadly we did not buy… yet. I hope to maybe in the near future maybe on the layaway they offer. If you end up buying from them or just stopping in, you are so lucky to experience the aloha kindness with a hint of southern hospitality. Maholo…

What can I say about this place!!! Hmmmmm first of all I give it one star because there’s no customer service. My son and I walked in the gallery and I smiled and said hello. Amy looked at me like I owed her something. Geez! I’m a normal person like everyone else. I’m a local girl who enjoys art and just cause I don’t have the money to buy her art, doesn’t mean she can be rude to anyone who walks in those doors. I enjoyed her paintings when she first came to Hanapepe town and was in a smaller gallery. But for a person who shows her true colors by their actions, also shows type of person she is inside and out!

I came in to the gallery quite by chance, as my wife was in another gallery buying jewelry. I found some of the art bordering on garish, and other pieces quite lovely. Clearly Amy and her husband have eclectic taste. My wife and I saw a painting by Jennifer Prince, whose work we had seen previously in another gallery. The piece we had wanted to buy had sold. Amy was gracious and offered to see if the artist would make a similar piece for us-all within 5 days as we were visiting Kauai. If all goes as planned, we will have a custom painted piece by an artist whose work we love-all negotiated by Amy.

I bought an original oil painting from Amy-Lauren’s Gallery at the end of May 2013. Both Amy-Lauren and Corey were very professional and helpful in answering questions about the artists and discussing purchase and shipping options. The gallery has a very nice selection with different styles to suit a range of tastes.

Amy Lauren — I feel I must address your message personally & clear up some inaccuracies. I will give you the benefit of the doubt regarding my Artwalk experience because you did not witness it. The wine bottle was sitting on the counter next to a stack of plastic glasses, NOT on your desk behind your computer. I did NOT«reach across your personal papers & attempt to grab». I politely inquired if I might help myself(as is customary at other galleries). The wine however, is not the point. I was treated rudely & made to feel humiliated & hurt. And just for the record, I had not had anything else to drink that night. Now on to my 2nd visit. My friend & I had had nothing to drink on that occasion as well. I am considering contacting an attorney regarding your slander of me. It seems you have a very active imagination & concoct stories to defend your reputation. You know nothing about me & should be much more careful when making accusations. I did enjoy your gallery & was considering making a purchase, but unfortunately that will not be happening as the integrity of a gallery is as important to me as the art I purchase. Pamela Evans
