Oh how I want to love this place. We have gone to this restaurant twice now and have had similar experiences each time. The first time was the week of Christmas. We made dinner reservations and arrived at that time. We were seated promptly however, no server ever arrived at our table. After a lengthy wait and that dreaded feeling that we ended up in a «dead zone» I went to the reception desk to request a server. Someone was sent over to us immediately after that. She mentioned since there was a gathering in another room their tables were reassigned and she was unaware that we were at her table. From that point on things went well. Any place can have a bad day/night so we decided to give CR’s another try for Valentine Day Brunch. Hard to believe but this also was a strange experience. The server came to the table promptly and on this day, unlike our first visit, that’s where the good part ends. I ordered hot tea which he brought however, he brought no spoon, sugar, or cream. After some time I actually got up from my table and approached him, on the opposite side of the room, to request these items. We placed our order, which he wrote down, and lo and behold, my husband never received his salad as well as he received the wrong order. It had similar components to the dish so my husband was unaware for the first few seconds that things were not correct. We pointed it out to the server who was apologetic and stated that he had used the wrong order key when placing the order and that he doesn’t usually work brunch. The management both times offered a free dessert which was very kind however, it makes me wonder how many folks will hang in there as customers after a few times like this? Also, the restaurant is losing money on the free desserts as well as, in our case, the salad that was never received and paid for. These things may seem small in the grand scheme of it but small items here and there add up to big losses in the end. This is a beautiful place it’s too bad the help seems a bit off their game.

Just had an outstanding experience at CR’s for Valentine’s Day. Grilled veal chop with Parmesan spetzel and kale salad were top notch. Service was also excellent. I very much enjoyed the Woodford Reserve Manhattan with cherry bitters and Luxardo cherries. The atmosphere was warm and cozy yet open and spacious at the same time. I will be back.

What a night. Our happy server Autumn kept our drinks(water) topped off throughout our meal. Valentine’s Day menu with regular prices. Exceptional seared scallops starter followed by surf and turf with crab cakes, chowder, salad, coffees and chased down with a blueberry caramel and salt bread pudding. Very elegant. Cloth table cloths and diligent wait staff. I would absolutely try them again. There were four in our party and they would say the same. My wife had the veal, also very good and plentiful portions. Reviews from months ago must have been very different from our night tonight. Give them a try.

When I looked at the menu and saw the prices, I was surprised at the plastic tablecloth with paper covering each table. The waitress was great, the food was just okay, again considering the price points on the menu. My martini was very good but the Malbec wine didn’t taste like much. Will not try here again and spend that kind of money for just«mediocre».

We’ve been waiting to try CR’s. Admittedly, we weren’t jumping to try it based on other reviews, but were pleasantly surprised. We had the caesar salad, clam chowder, sea bass and short ribs. All of the food was very good. The only down sides were the cocktails and the service. The pear cocktail was very sour and i didn’t taste much pear but they quickly doctored it to make it better and the Malbec had been sitting out too long. Our waitress wasn’t very friendly and seemed disinterested. But, all in all, we will go back.

We went here for lunch. A great place with quality food and great atmosphere. We had the fish and chips and a cheese burger. Service was prompt and courteous.

We had a wonderful dinner tonight! Our waitress was wonderful and the food amazing. I got the tenderloin which was cooked to perfection and sized appropriately, and my boyfriend got the special– a prime rib which I think he would die 1000 deaths just to have again. I ordered the Hampton harbor sunrise, a prosecco cocktail, that was wonderful. The seared tuna appetizer was phenomenal. My boyfriend raved about the key lime cheesecake saying it was the best he ever had, and I got a warm cookie for dessert that was subpar but still good. Our only complaint was that when we made reservations, a week prior, they said 5pm or 830pm would be the only times they could get us in. Yet when we arrived for our 5pm reservation, the restaurant was 1⁄5 full with numerous tables that could have accommodated our party available, and had many tables available when we left. It was disappointing but overall a great experience.

A nice little restaurant in the middle of no where, NH and easy access right off the high way. Ambiance and interior decoration is very nice! Really makes you feel as if you are in the back country except with some class. We were on our way to Maine and the lady was getting hangry! Since this was the first place we saw, it was the place to eat. Complementary bread and a decent selection of wine. Food ranged from seafood to chicken parm. Food was good but nothing really exciting where I would rant or rave about. Since we were traveling we unfortunately did not have appropriate attire for a restaurant like this. Rocking joggers, Jordan’s, and a white tee while she had yoga pants and a hoodie did not look right in there. A lot of funny looks from other customers but oh well! Services is extra slow. I ended up getting up to get my check.

AMAZING. Absolutely amazing. Boyfriend and I went on a Saturday night without a reservation. We sat at a bar table. Atmosphere calm, romantic and cozy. Everything about this place. from the bread, drinks, entrees, dessert, service and even the bathrooms were amazing haha. I got the salmon with Swiss chard and cauliflower. Everything tender, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. My boyfriend got the chicken piccata. It was flawless, tender, and with well balanced flavor. Reasonable prices for a fancy restaurant. They have happy hour Monday through Friday(half price apps and $ 8 summer cocktails). Will be going back!

Third time here and it didn’t get any better, in fact the opposite. I always have a 3 strike rule with restaurants and this one is now out! We ordered cocktails that were both served with limes that looked like they had been sitting behind the bar for weeks. They were not green but almost a brownish in appearance, we took them out and didn’t even use them. Even the server commented on them!!! Why would you not look for fresh limes?! Ordered a wedge salad and the middle of the iceberg was brown and spotted! We took apart the lettuce and left all the brown lettuce on a plate so the server could see it. We should have sent it back, we were hoping once he saw how much we pulled out he would have commented. Again he looked right at it and took it away without saying anything. I ordered the seared shrimp with lobster risotto. The shrimp were overcooked and tough and the risotto was baked and cut into a square so more of a patty and you couldn’t even taste the lobster. My husband ordered the fish and chips which he liked and probably the only reason I gave it two stars. Our server was pleasant but had a lot of tables so the service isn’t quite what we hoped. We are all set with CRs. We were excited when we heard they were coming to the seacoast since we used to enjoy them in Bedford but it’s clearly not even close.

Interior décor is very nice, except for the deer head that kind of hangs out in the middle of the restaurant. I don’t really care for hunting, so probably a personal choice, but it felt weird eating meat while there was a dead thing hanging right above me. My friend and I were getting eaten alive by mosquitoes the entire time we were there and we were indoors. We killed about 5 of them and there were lots of them on the seats and table and would get into our food, which made the experience less than thrilling. I did complain about it when we got the check and the staff was apologetic and said it has never been a problem before so I won’t hold it against them but it took away from the overall experience. I got duck breast with risotto and asparagus and my friend got the veggie gnocchi and we finished off with the lemon crème brûlée. I’m not sure if I missed it on the menu description but the risotto was made of barley, not something I would have ordered had I known, and I don’t think they let it cook long enough because it wasn’t as starchy and sticky as risotto should be from my experience. Duck was good but nothing special, nothing worth mentioning in terms of their sauces. Crème brûlée was good — I’m not a fan of any changes or additions of flavors added to it, but the lemon was not a bad touch. It certainly cut through the heaviness of the crème brûlée and added a crisp finish. I think for the price of this place, they can use to make the flavors more memorable. As the other reviewers mentioned, there just wasn’t anything that popped out and it was just OK(for the price). Obviously, it is still very good food and I wouldn’t mind coming back here to give this place another go… hopefully they would have tamed the mosquitoes by then :)

What a great place to dine. The prime rib was really good and the chocolate cake was the best. I will return.

Having liked the CR Sparks in Bedford, hopes were high as the family tried this newish spot to celebrate the daughter’s good high school grades. It was a bit more pricey than we’re looking for, but what the heck — life is short. Well, right off the bat we could see our night was going to be weird. The décor is way over done and pretentious, like a faux hunting club for folks who like the idea of country life, but would not be caught dead in the woods. Trying too hard. The wait staff was polite and attentive, but had a poor sense of humor and an approach that bordered on creepy. The clientele seemed happy being part of the scene, but we felt uncomfortable. All of this can be forgiven if the food was great, but it was as uninspired as the atmosphere. We had some Ceasar salads, the NY strip, pork tenderloin and chicken parm. All were ok, but strangly heavy and not very flavorful. Perhaps the Tuesday kitchen crew was not the A team. Regardless, we were dissapointed. We wanted to eat at the Farm Bistro in hampton falls, but they were closed on Tuesdays. Their food is the real deal and much better than CR’s. In short, if you want to lighten your wallet and play the part of a fine diner, go to CR’s. As for us, we won’t be going back ’cause life is too short.

What a fantastic night! The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. Talk about outstanding food! Started with the tuna appetizer. It had great flavor. Actually everything we had tasted amazing. I had the swordfish and they very willingly accommodated my need to change my side dish due to an intolerance. Had the veggie couscous. My date had the duck special… it was unbelievable! I tasted it and didn’t think I even liked duck. We were entertained by «the Last Duo» who sang awesome songs during the night. What a great experience. We’re thinking of coming back tomorrow! Came back for the second night in a row. Brought a friend with us. Had the scallops and beef tenderloin. Everything was outstanding! We were actually headed toward Portsmouth but decided to give CR’s another try to see if it was really that good. It is! You won’t be disappointed!

This is going to be short and not so sweet. I give this place 0 stars. Live in Peabody and was headed to Maine for the weekend. Seen an add for this place so checked it out on Unilocal.Unilocal had posted they where closing at 230 so I called. I was told there would be a bartender from lunch to dinner schedule. When I arrived the door was locked and all the employees where driving out the parking lot. Friday memorial day weekend. Go figure. I understand why Airfare Café has a better rating then this place.

We had an excellent dinner here. Service was great and the food did not disappoint. My kids split the NY Strip steak and loved it. They also really liked the side of mac and cheese. Prime rib was really good. The remodel was done really well. Definitely glad the new ownership took over.

Ambiance really matters and this is a place where you would go for a special occasion or have a great martini at the end of a work day and sit at the bar. Classy all the way. The bartenders are great and the service is exceptional. We’ve had the seared ahi tuna appetizer which was nicely prepared and two separate pizzas, the duck and the spinach and mushroom truffle pizza. So light and crispy — delicious! Can’t wait to come back with my family for a nice dinner. Perfect for date night.

I was excited to go since I had enjoyed CR Sparks in Bedford tremendously. A friend and I went for Restaurant Week. It was disappointing on many levels. First, the ambiance. If you’re Biff and Muffy, and you’re taking the grandparents out to dinner, you will love this place, as will they. It’s so preppy 1980s, a little too Connecticut country club for my taste. Our waitperson offered up the menus and informed us that we could also choose from the restaurant week menu if we wanted, but the way she said it was very ominous, as if choosing from that menu would be our undoing. The regular menu was quite pricy, along the lines of the Wellington Room — but that is where any comparison ends. Because we were hungry, and there was no bread forthcoming, we ordered crab cakes. The mixture was tasty, but they were not piping hot, not crisp, and not exactly cooked in the center. Of course, then the bread came out. We did order off the Restaurant Week menu. We asked that the Caprese salad come with olive oil instead of the balsamic reduction, as my friend dislikes balsamic vinegar. Wouldn’t you know, hers came with the reduction. I had the maple bourbon pecan crusted chicken. I’ve been cooking with pecans for 30+ years and have never before bit down on slivers of shell… until tonight. The sides were roasted potatoes and asparagus which were good but plain. The chicken was on the sweetish side, but otherwise bland and unremarkable. My friend ordered salmon which arrived accompanied by two white sides, cauliflower and orecchiette. It has to appeal to eye first; this didn’t. We were both given the same dessert even though I distinctly ordered two different ones. I thought the waitperson was listening, but apparently not. I could understand this if it had been a very busy, crazy night, but the place was empty. The mixed up salads and mixed up desserts — our waitperson was just checked out. With drinks, which were on the expensive side, our $ 291 dinners came to well over $ 100. It wasn’t worth the money OR the calories. Restaurant week is all about turning people on to what you have to offer; learned my lesson and would never go back here again.
