The food was decent. I would strongly discourage the swordfish with chili lime sauce. It was dull and flavorless. The linguine with clam sauce and the scallops were delicious though. The service was mediocre.

First, lets get something straight. A restaurant is more then just food. The service and ambiance, and the time you have, all contribute to the total experience. Tommy knows what he is doing. Every dish he makes is impeccable. Tommy is a perfectionist, and it shows in the finished products. I like restaurants with small menus. It means they make a few dishes, but they make them extremely well. TR never disappoints. You can tell Tommy always starts with a fresh product, and creates food with love and complete understanding of the product he is serving. Ronnie will make sure your night is enjoyable, and that their is nothing that you need. And, if you just want to stop by for a burger, and to watch a game, then Sunday’s there are the way to go. The best kept secret in town… TR. The closest you will ever get to food perfection.

I haven’t tried the food here but stopped in for a glass of wine on the Thursday night after the 4th of July. It was quiet around 10 p.m. with dinner winding down. The ambiance was very nice inside, it reminds me of the kind of place my parents would love to stop by for dinner — not really crowded, quiet, peaceful. I watched some people eating — mussels looked good and my cousin says the wings are great. Prix fixe option is nice, too. I would definitely go back to sit down and have a meal(next time I’m in town, anyway :)). No outdoor seating, but pretty views of the marina.

Best food in hampton bays. Great wood fired seafood. Not to be missed if your in the area. I had the whole grilled fish with sweet and sour tomatoes and my wife had the soft shell crabs both were excellent. Cant believe i havent been to TR before. going to make it my new spot.

This place could be great, and Hampton Bays is in desperate need of a strong new dining establishment with modern ambiance. TR’s has crisp and clean décor with an airy nautical feel. They are also very blessed to have a public hungry to patronize them. When I visited on a Saturday night this summer it was clear that the customers were from far and wide on the Forks, and had taken a detour into the sleepiest(but in my opinion most beautiful) Hampton to check out an NYT rated restaurant. TR’s needs to strike while the iron is hot and capitalize on their positive press. Prix fixe is an excellent value(mondays and wednesdays I believe), and everyday prices are fair to moderate, about on par with the competition in town but cheaper than dining in the more haute Hamptons. Appetizers are tasty and well prepared, though surely on the smaller side — forgiveable because they aren’t super expensive. My lobster was excellent, perhaps a hair over steamed, but still excellent and quite large for the price. Here’s the problem: The wait staff, though well meaning and friendly, were confused, forgetful and inefficient. Not sure if the kitchen was to blame, but the lack of attention and clear communication from service definitely exacerbated things. First off, the wait to be greeted at the door was far too long(a pet peeve of mine) seeing as the restaurant was only half full. The hostess was absent from her post(maybe on break –which is fine) but the kicker was that at least 5 servers breezed by us(not with food in their hands or with any semblance of urgency otherwise) and didn’t even make eye contact or say«just a moment, I’ll get the hostess.» or better yet«May I check you in?» We had reservations as well. Our dinner order was not put in right away and 30 minutes after we were told the kitchen had lost the ticket. They did the right thing by comping us a glass of wine each. Still, dinner took an hour to arrive. *** I am writing this review in the hopes that TR’s fixes their service deficits. The food is good and the ambiance is quite nice. I want them to succeed and believe the public at large will make this place a hit if TR’s just smooths out the aforementioned issues. I want to like this place and I probably want more than any Hampton Bays part time resident to have a quality seafood restaurant with reliable service just a stone’s throw away :). Wishing TR’s the best and would encourage others to try it with these few caveats in mind. I’ll go back, but with the hope of better service. Disclaimer: I am in no way a service snob but the shortfalls here were pretty glaring. There is nothing worse than lingering in a doorway for ten minutes in a half full restaurant and not being greeted.

Service was decent, food was not so great. Price Fixe dinner — salad, ribs and key lime pie. Salad was boring and poorly dressed. Ribs were overcooked and a small portion — served with soggy fries and cold corn on the cob. Key lime pie was good — but only a sliver serving size. For the price there are plenty of better choices.

Wonderful restaurant! The food is amazing(mussel stew, crabcake appetizer, whole flounder with aoili sauce, tuna) and so fresh. This was my second dinner and just a good as the first. The setting is lovely — simple black and white décor that is cozy and yet seems modern. Staff are all very friendly and very professional. On my second night there was an amazing jazz trio with a singer, sax, and guitar player that were so good yet not overwhelming. Not sure how often they have live entertainment. But this is my new most favorite restaurant. Really worth a try.
