Well the food was good but the waiter was terrible great music a gentleman was playing a guitar and was very good two stars because of the service I’m so disappointed I still tipped 20 percent because I work in the tipping industry I will be back I hope for better service!

The food is definitely worth their high rating! I was a bummed that my meal was $ 20, but I never looked at the price of the side of guacamole and cheese that I added to the Mole Poblano. At least the portions are large. Service was a bit slow and I ended up having to box up my food to make it back from my one hour lunch break. Restaurant was about ¾ full at lunch time. The nachos with 3 sauces provided are delicious and I almost ate all of it myself. None of the sauces are spicy, so you might be disappointed if you like that kind of thing.

Server, Jazmin, was excellent and on top of everything! Food was delicious! The chips and 3 dipping options were a big hit. We had a party of 12 at 9:00pm on a Wednesday. Everyone loved their selection! I highly recommend!

I have been a couple times — once was okay. Others times were great! I wish I could give 3.5 but I think they are slightly better than just OK. Everything was fresh, seasoned well. Need alcohol License. Get rid of the DJ

I LOVE this place! The new location is awesome although it s a bit tight in there and the music is bit loud at times. Food is freshly prepared and always delicious. My favorites are the Taco Salad and Fajitas. I like the outdoor seating although I haven’t gotten a chance to experience it. I like the fact you can BYOB too.

There was a reviewer before me that nailed this place! The food and the service was incredible! I love the BYOB to save some money on drinks. .but this place is way too small to be a night club! My husband and I went on a Saturday night and it was overwhelming! The DJ was taking up a lot of room and blaring music! Who knows why, there is no room to dance! I think this place would actually be 10xs better with out it! Just play some soft spanish music on the radio so people can enjoy the great food!

We had a great meal at a great price. The atmosphere is fun and the service is very good. Bring your own wine or beer and try the fajitas with cheese or shrimp with garlic. No problems with parking and the neighborhood is safe and clean.

Your food — delicious. Your service — excellent. Your music-? Why was there a DJ at dinner time, and more importantly, why was he playing 20 – 30 second snapshots of mid 80’s-early 90’s pop music? I looked up from my guacamole when I heard us being Rick-rolled by «Never Gonna Give You Up» but before I swallowed was trying to figure out how we had suddenly landed in Bryan Adam’s «I Do It For You». Before I had gotten a sip of water to ask my friends if I was hearing things, they were asking me if the song playing was«Video Killed the Radio Star». This went on and on and on… endlessly and nearly inexplicably, each little tidbit of 80s or early 90s pop culture then drifting into salsa music before returning to a commercial moment for the«Bodyguard» soundtrack meets the ending of «Breakfast Club». I’ll grab takeout next time.

This is one of my favorites! I have never had a bad meal or service. Whether takeout or eat in, the food always meets my expectations. The best part is their prices! The food is very inexpensive and great quality. You can have a nice and fun night out without spending too much money. They have outdoor seating when the weather is nice. This restaurant is BYO. On the weekends they have live music or a DJ and one night during the week they have karaōke. It is a small restaurant and often packed and can be loud. The servers are not the quality you get at a nicer restaurant but are always very friendly and helpful. It can sometimes be a little on the slower side but not to the point where it interferes with your meal. My favorite is the mushroom quesadillas and chicken tortilla soup. This is by far the best chicken tortilla soup I have ever had and it is just like the authentic chicken tortilla I had while in Mexico. I like that they drizzle just the right amount of cheese and sour cream on top of the quesadillas. The quesadillas are never soggy like they often can be. The guacamole is a little on the bland side but comes with fresh and hot out of the oven chips. They are different from the regular tortilla chips, little oily with a richer flavor but very good. The taco salads are also a great option. They come in a large tortilla bowl(similar to the guacamole chips).

The food is very good, and the portion sizes are excellent. BYOB also a plus. The service; not so good, and karaōke on a Saturday evening a terrible idea. After being seated, we waited 15 minutes for a server. We saw two other tables get seated and waited before we could flag down a server. Got guacamole which was fresh and very good. Our entries came, and got served to the table next to us. We tried to stop them, but the music was loud, and they dug in. The waitress came back about 2 minutes later and realized her error. She said she would put a fresh order in, which came out 10 minutes later. As I said the food was very good, and we boxed up some of both. The karaōke drove us away from wanting any dessert. A group of 13 – 14 yo girls took turns singing Taylor Swift and music from«Grease». I wish I could say they were even close to good, but they were awful. I don’t know why the restaurant would want to do that on a Saturday, in such a small room. They lost a «star» for it.

Like a lot of people writing a review we also have passed this restaurant thousands of times on the way to the shore but never stopped. Finally we made a reservation with some of our friends and now know what we have been missing. This is hands down is the most authentic, delicious Mexican restaurant in south jersey! Everything is fresh and made from scratch. Start with the chips and the three different sauces. So good and different from most Mexican restaurants. The ceviche is superb! All of our entrees were delicious and the portions are huge. When we got the bill we almost fell off our chairs. We ate so much food and cost us $ 50/couple. Bring your favorite Mexican beer to accompany the meal. We made from scratch margaritas which added to the night. Service was excellent! Don’t miss this great restaurant in Hammonton!!! Can’t wait to return.

The food is AMAZING… Was my first time at this place and I highly recommend it. We all got the fajitas and they were tasty and juicy… if your in the area stop by and have dinner … The staff is amazing and you can tell every one is a team player, they all work together and it’s hard to find a place that has a staff like that… Whenever I’m back in the area I will be stopping by every chance I get…

Enjoyed a good meal at El Mariachi Loco with my son this week. The complimentary chips, salsas and warm bean dip were a great beginning to our meal. We both had chicken/cheese gorditas which hit the spot and were even better with the addition of some of the salsa. My son then had a chicken platter with a chipotle crema sauce that we both thought was delicious. I had the seasoned pork Huarache(like a Mexican pizza) that was very good, and so big that ¾ of it went home with me. The rice was also flavorful. Our server was helpful, friendly and efficient. We expect to return to the restaurant to try some more of their dishes.

It’s not often that I find Mole Poblano on the menu, and Mariachi Loco did not disappoint. We were treated like old friends from the moment we walked in and knew we’d made the right choice when our smiling hostess delivered a basket of warm tortillas and fresh dipping sauces. We will not be driving past the next time we come through downtown Hammonton!

So many times have we passed through Hammonton and said to ourselves we should try one of the many Mexican restaurants we have passed. Today, we made the stop. Woo hoo, we hit the jackpot on this one. John and our friend Dave both ordered Carne Ala Tampiqueña, platters of a variety of meats, enchiladas, salad, and rice, served with home made tortillas. I ordered a huaracha(a large disc of baked dough covered with refried beans, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, pineapple bits, and a choice of meat). Our server was so welcoming and cheerfully answered any questions about the dishes. The portions were huge, the food all fresh, with complex tastes and flavors. Tortilla chips and a three delicious sauces arrive on all tables to nibble while waiting for one’s order. The coffee was excellent. Live music added to the ambiance. The décor was snazzy and modern, very café-like with dominant red and yellow walls lined with artwork. Exceedingly clean women’s restroom, too. This was a real winner all around. Food, service, décor, ambiance, and cleanliness all solid five stars. Very reasonable prices. BYOB.

El Mariachi Loco situated right in the heart of Hammonton is a super Mexican restaurant. It has it all. Outside it looks totally cool and the atmosphere continues inside. On evenings when there is a musician or band serenading the diners, it just adds to the good vibes. The food is authentic and def tasty. Some highlights from the large menu are the appetizers of crabmeat dip(this is addictive!) and pico de gallo. I love the alambre served here with its cheese topping and fresh corn tortillas. The pechuga a la crema will melt in your mouth… the sour cream and chipotle sauce is awesome. To be honest everyone I’ve eaten with here and I have just liked all the dishes at El Mariachi Loco. Tips — This is a BYOB. If you like Horchata like I do, bring some tequilla with you and mix it with the tasty horchata and you will concoct a really delicious cocktail with a little punch. Now I just have to give it a name(…how ’bout a Mariachi Loco?) — This restaurant is only a block away from The Eagle Theatre so it is a perfect pre-theatre dining spot. Well if you didn’t know about El Mariachi Loco before this review, now you do. Def head to it as soon as you can!

Good ambiance and food. Very friendly staff. Right in the heart of Hammonton. It’s only about 2 miles off exit 28 on the AC expressway. I recommend it to anyone driving between AC and Philly. The Tortas(sandwiches) are huge, so be ready!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. We were promptly seated at a table reserved earlier in the day, and the service was impeccable. The interior is decorated very nicely, almost, for a moment, bringing me back to a Mexican vacation of years ago. The waitstaff were very helpful in assisting with meal selections, and the food was fresh and delicious. The portion sizes were very generous, and the live music of the evening made it a fun and memorable evening for my children, wife, and I. If you enjoy Mexican, please check this place out!

All in all this place is amazing. I love that it has outdoor seating and prefer it over sitting inside when I come here with my girlfriend. The food is delicious and very well priced and if you get takeout they will give you a plate of chips and all the dips as well! There is a good amount of seating inside but it fills up quickly and makes me feel confined and gets a bit loud, which is another reason I prefer the outdoor seating. It is byob, which is great because of the money it saves and there is a bar right across the street with a good selection at liquor store prices. I only leave 4 stars because sometimes the wait staff is slow with checking on the table and has left us waiting more than a few minutes for things, such as silverware!

I will fess up that I walked in with low expectations. I hadn’t eaten all day and was in the area for a job interview. I arrived about an hour early and thought I should eat so I won’t be distracted by my hunger. After being seated in a tastefully decorated dining room, I was immediately brought corn tortilla chips, salsa verde, salsa roja and HOT refried beans in small bowls. The chips were warm and had just out of the fryer sheen. I tried the green salsa first. Low heat. Red Salsa, no heat and tasted out of a jar… Then the hot bean dip. HOLYMOLY it was delicious. I don’t if I was just hungry or what, but I couldn’t distinguish if it was from a can or not. If it’s from scratch awesome! If it’s from scratch, more power to the Sysco/Con-Agra’s of the world in replicating a taste as if homemade. I ordered the Camarones a la Diabla. It came out with a plate brimming with fiery red sauce with the shrimp swimming about. It was sprinkled with cheese that had no melted. I don’t know I fee about that. It was extraneous and didn’t lend to the dish. The rice was really tasty. Overall I see myself eating here once I’m working in the area. Damn that bean dip.

The family I walk to Downtown Hammonton every weekend do for lunch or dinner. This is definitely one of our favorite spots. When you walk in you are treated to an actual person singing traditional Mexican music and playing guitar. The staff is always pleasant and happy to serve. The menu is traditional and a little hard to read because most of it is in Spanish which I think is a nice little touch. The food is always on point and never disappoints. We normally go with the mixed fajitas platter and all share. Definitely worth a try.

One of my favorite places for the mole Pablano(looks like a big burrito w/chocolate lol) and tacos!!! The prices are great and the service as well. They always give out chips with 3 different types of dip — bean dip, verde and hot chile? Iduno but stay away from the red hot– unless you love spicy! the few times I’ve been there, there would be entertainment with a guy singing, and it was comforting! Did I mention this place is BYOB??? Enjoy Downtown Hammonton. You can’t go wrong. Might want to take a stroll around the street if you’re bloated!(Like I did lol)
