The Venue is located inside the Horseshoe Hammond Casino, it’s a large yet intimate venue for a casino. There is plenty of seating providing an excellent view of the stage, however if you are slightly off center or just further away from the stage you can enjoy the show on two huge screens which broadcast an up-close view of the stage so you don’t miss anything. Overall this is a great venue, the staff was friendly and showed us to our seats and the bartenders were fast and friendly too. I wouldn’t hesitate to see a show here again if given the opportunity.

It’s a nice little venue. I’m impressed with the artists/acts/entertainers they’ve gotten there over the years. Their lineup is usually pretty good. I also like the fact that it’s on the 2nd floor of the casino, so you don’t have to worry about all the slot machine noise, as the only other things on the floor are pretty much a few slot machines and a buffet restaurant. Just make sure you buy tickets for whomever you want to see as soon as they go on sale, as tickets can sell out fast due to the somewhat limited seating capacity.

Overall a pretty good venue. Big screens to check out close-ups, but the place is small enough there really is not a bad seat in the house. Never had too long a wait in the restroom. They could have a few more beer sales people, the lines can move slowly sometimes. And watch out for the first several rows of the 200 sections, they feel like they are temporary in that when people come down the aisles, you can feel them walk. Very jostling. Good thing for Chicago peeps is the free shuttles. Also, the bar by the poker room has a good selection of drafts(i.e. Lagunitas, Two Hearted, etc.) for $ 5. Downside is the frickin’ smokers. But then again it’s NW Indiana, so what do you expect?

This was my first time at the Venue… I went to see Alice Cooper. I was happy to find the drive is easy from the Chicagoland area. Parking is plentiful and free or you can have your car Valet parked. Once inside the Casino it’s easy to get upstairs to the Venue. The casino staff was friendly and helpful, even walked with us right to the Venue. Once inside the theatre I was surprised to find out how large the space is and how great the seats are… I don’t think there is a bad seat in the place. Security was on top of things and the staff did a great job of getting everyone into their seats quickly. The Venue has two large screens that allow you to see everything. Great acoustics… My ears were ringing! Everything a girl loves about a concert! Oh and Alice, he was awesomeness!

Really nice concert venue. Comfy seats, good views, intimate without being too small. They get some pretty big name entertainers. There are a couple bars in the concert hall and a fuller bar in the lobby. The restrooms were nice. The bad part is having to walk thru the smoky casino to get to the venue. Although there is no smoking in the theater, and the theater does not at all smell like smoke, the walk left that nasty stale casino smoke smell in our clothes.

I was in a vip suite for the Nas concert our in room host was Charles. He was awesome, amazing customer service, complete gentleman very attentive and professional. If I were given an option I’d absolutely go back and request Charles. Drink options were great. Food was meh. Honestly I’ve had better. But customer service saved this for me.

I may have mixed feelings about the casino, but the Venue is as awesome as it gets. Every seat is comfortable with an excellent view of the stage. The sound system is booming. The auditorium is perfectly climate controlled. And if you want to buy a cold pint of beer, you can do that too. They manage to draw some pretty great acts at reasonable ticket prices, so if you want a nice night out without dealing with exorbitant ticket prices, this is your spot.

This was my first time at The Venue. I was pleasantly surprised as soon as I walked in. The air was cool and comfortable. It was not too big, not too small. just right! The kind of place where there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. The staff was friendly and quickly helped us to find our seats. Once we made it to our seats, I was really happy about how comfy the chairs were. Red velvet, plush, big seats. As I looked out, the stage was a really nice size with two jumbotrons on either side of the stage. The lights looked really cool there, too. To my surprise, once the show started, the sound was fantastic! No corners cut here. The only thing that concerned me, slightly, when people were cheering for an encore, stomping feet and whatnot, I felt the whole structure shake and wondered how safe it was and if, someday, they would have a collapse issue. but I didn’t let it bother me too much. This is the first time I’ve ever seen Huey Lewis and the News. I remember all the hits from my childhood. it was very fun. He put on a fantastic show of hits, new music and some blues. It was a great and fun variety. He sounded great and the band was phenomenal. He/they are quite the performers. Huey is also a very funny guy and interacted with the audience, a lot. I could hear every word he said, clearly. I can’t tell you how many other places I’ve been and I’m always straining to make out what they were saying. He put on an almost 2 hour show and was as peppy at the end as the beginning. I have a new appreciation for Huey Lewis and the News I will also be keeping my eye out for future shows here. I had a great experience!!!

Went there for the first time a couple nights ago and was pleasantly surprised. Even though I was on the 2nd floor I could see and hear pretty well. It was pretty clean and spacious area. The only thing the usher told us the wrong seats which really wasn’t a big deal because we got there in enough time for stuff like this. I also like the fact they have several places on site to eat including the Buffett, under 22 bucks on a Saturday an had any and every food you could think of including prime rib omg! The lines were somewhat long but it was worth the wait. Will definitely be back!

I live maybe 10 minutes away from this concert venue and have never been there… that is until recently when I was there for a Celtic Woman concert. Nice place. good acoustics, and a decent amount of seating… bought my tickets via Groupon(G-Pass) so it wasn’t as bad as straight through Ticketmaster. It wasn’t a full house by any means but still a sizable crowd. No complaints here other than the high drink prices and the smell of stale smoke… otherwise if a favorite act comes through, I think I’ll come again. Oh yea… the Village Buffet is across the hall from the entrance to the Venue… so you can really make a night of gambling, dinner, and a show… just like in Vegas.

I really enjoyed The Venue and think it has a perfect layout for fans when they want to experience a more intimate atmosphere from the usual ampitheaters. I came here with my cousin to check out an artist we mutually adore and we both left in agreement it was one of the best concert atmospheres we’ve experienced. Seating was close to the stage and two large screens were mounted where everyone in the place, even the balcony, was able to maintain a good view. The sound was perfect, the staff helpful when needed to help people find their seats, and the house was packed yet not chaotic at all.

The Venue itself is an impressive place to see a show. Nice sightlines and comfortable seating. We saw a comedy stand up act so can’t comment on the sound. BUT, WEWERENOTAWARETHATTHECASINOPERMITTEDSMOKING. JUSTAWFUL! SMOKEEVERYWHEREATITMUSTBEPOORLYVENTILATEDASITJUSTLINGEREDANDREEKED. If you are not a smoker you will get what i mean. We saw other folks running thru the casino with napkins to their faces. For this reason we would never return. The Venue is smoke-free but you have to endure the walk thru the casino to get there. What a surprising concert venue just south of the city! Great acts appear here, some of which don’t even have Chicago dates, especially Vegas-style performers like Leno and Wayne Newton. I loved the surprising size and great sightlines. We saw a comedian perform. Because we purchased late, our seats were the second to last row of the balcony. We could see perfectly and hear as well. It’s great that they have video monitors to either side of the stage to get closeups on the performers. There are multiple bars inside the place and you can bring your drinks inside with you, which is nice. Even better is that they do not allow smoking in this place like they do in the rest of the casino, so it doesn’t stink inside! Yay! Prices can be reasonable, and tix are available through Ticketmaster. A minor gripe was that it seemed there were a number of people in the place for my comedy show who came in late, were drunk and wouldn’t shut up through the performance. I got the impression that their tix were comped because they didn’t know the performer and were yelling racist slurs to the comedian. That was a bummer. I would still see another concert or show here. It’s so close to the city, the first exit off the Skyway after you cross the state line. Parking is free as well.

When I walked in this place, I was floored. The place is HUGE. I had NO idea. I kind of expected it was going to be the size of a college auditorium. We went to see Jason Alexander. He bombed so hard on stage that people were running for the exits. We left when he started putting on a crown made of straws and singing«Jesus Christ Superstar.» Poor George. The staff were very friendly. One star off because the will call window lines are set up POORLY. There are 3 different lines, and you have to place a gamble on which line to pick. No separate line for diamond members.

As a long-time concert-goer, I was excited at the chance to see my favorite band Yes at The Venue in the Horseshoe Casino. I’ve never seen a show there before, so I was not sure what to expect. I arrived about 30 minutes before the show and found the parking to be most difficult. While it’s free to park at the casino, I noticed the upper levels were completely filled. While some cars circled round and round looking for someone to leave, I took the opposite way and went down instead. I actually found a lot of available space on the 2nd and 3rd levels while the upper levels and rooftop parking were at capacity. That is something to keep in mind the next time I come here. The theatre is on the upper floor of the casino and yes, you do have to walk through the casino the reach The Venue, just as you would in Vegas. A long carpeted stairway leads to the upper floor. While most people took the escalator up, I got my cardio workout running up the stairs. As for the theatre venue itself, it is excellent in every sense. I would have no problem seeing another show here. Seating, sight and sound are the 3 S’s of seeing a show in my book. First, the seating was excellent. Wide aisles, wide seats, each with its own armrests, and plenty of leg room in front of each seat made it one of the most comfortable experiences of seeing a show for me. Sight — with the raised design, it’s almost like a theatre style multiplex theatre, so you do not have to peek between the heads of people in front of you. In case you can’t see the stage… well there are a pair of giant video screens on either side to give you an even better view. Though I had an aisle seat with an unobstructed view of the stage, my eyes kept drifting to the video screen, where I was able to see things up close and from different angles than from where I was sitting. It’s as if the video screen was the stage at times because of its excellent view. Lastly the sound. Not a hiccup in the audio. Vibrant, clear and no feedback or undesirable echoes that you may hear at other venues. Sometimes the sound is problematic just for the first 20 – 30 minutes before they get it right but not at this show. From what I saw and heard first-hand, Horseshoe made a first class theatre inside the casino. I definitely would come back here to see more shows.

I really didn’t know what to expect of The Venue. But, I must say, I had a FAB experience when I went for the Erykah Badu concert. The previous reviewers were absolutely correct– make sure you get there early, to allow time for parking and the commute through the casino. If you are under 30, you will be required to stand in line at the casino for an ID Check. Also, the lines at the bars were long– so if you drink, then you need time for that. I had a daiquiri, that was the special for the evening and it was yummy. Even better, there was a special of buy one at $ 11(in a nice LARGE glass, and not the little stingy cups used for other drinks), and get refills at $ 6. Warning: If you are used to concerts starting late, don’t expect this at Horseshoe. Our show started a few minutes late, but YOU want to be there when the star hits the stage. Why? Because The Venue gives them the boot after the 2 hour window– at 10pm on the dot, Erykah was prompted to exit the stage. I heard other concert-goers saying that this is typical of concerts at this venue. There were several people who arrived at the show, an hour late and were quite disappointed to have missed so much of it. Also, as stated by previous reviewers, the acoustics were GREAT. In terms of seating, I would stay away from the balcony but splurge on any of the floor seats. You really don’t need to be right up front; Section 200s provided a perfect view of the stage(no squinting necessary); and the large screens on either side of the stage, provided alternative viewing options. That’s all peeps!

Good acoustics, good sight lines, large tv screens as well. POOR ushering — -very disorganized. Overpriced drinks-requested tonic with vodka — got something weird that tasted like soda without flavoring and NOVODKA. FREE parking! Saw Gladys Knight on 3⁄27 with the husband. Packed, but very crowd.

Another bump for the Horseshoe Casino. I came back to the venue this past weekend for the Amazing Race season 16 casting call and got to see how nice, organized, and clean the place was from the good seats and in good lighting. There really aren’t any bad seats. It’s easy to see the stage from anywhere and the seats are really comfy with the arm rest that folds up so you can snuggle… or whatever. I hope some of my faves start making their rounds at the Horseshoe.
