Lindy’s Ace Hardware

Today I had a flat tire on my bike as I rode from Chicago to Coloma, Mi. Even with planning I didn’t have enough Co2 to fix the tire. That’s when I searched out a hardware store and found this Ace Hardware. Remember the old ads, «Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man?» Well this was the model they were thinking about when they wrote it. They had what I needed and even had some special valve adapters I never expected they would carry, good for back up in the future. I went out front to work on fixing my flat and the guy came out and invited me in to use their compressor to make things easier. I can’t tell you how much that made my day. I travel this route on occasion and will stop there to buy whatever odds and ends I may need, just because they are so darn nice!

So helpful… The ex-​welder guy that works there figured out a solution for an issue i had that no one else could, even after he had to try a couple different things he made it happen, he is super resourceful, so glad I went there!

This is the place to go to get the job done. They have products that cater to the area and a knowledgeable staff. They are a real hardware store.

I go here when I need quick parts for a leaky faucet, or whatever. It’s close and convenient with a community atmosphere. They have a pretty good selection of commonly needed items. It’s more convenient to breeze in here than browse the aisles for an hour at huge hardware warehouses. Their real strength in my opinion is the helpful, knowledgeable staff. Most times when I need something I walk in, get greeted right away and asked if I need help, tell the guy my idea and get led right to what I need. I’m out of there and fixing stuff in no time. Just what a busy guy wants.

Nice selection terrible staff. Unmarked items the prices change everytime you walk in there. Yet to be in there with the cashiers not eating something too.

Ace IS the place!!!
It’s your typical, or a-​typical, hardware store depending on how you want to look at things. They have everything. The store seems very small at first, as you walk in. Then it seems to expand, and expand, and expand. Each aisle seems to lengthen with each step you take. I don’t know how they do it!
Okay, maybe it’s the friendly help. They say hello and ask if you need anything, or what you’re working on. They take you right to where you need to be, and show you the right product the first time around. They give you what you need, and not what you don’t. And you know what? They know what they’re talking about!!! If you need an allen wrench, you don’t need to explain to them what you’re looking for. You don’t have to receive the blank stare, and then the, «Uh, I think they’re over there in the wrench section.»
They surprise me with what they carry. They will help you along on your project, or get you started in the right direction.
Anything you need, they’ll have it. If they don’t, which I find hard to believe, they will order it for you and call you when it comes in!
For me, it’s close by, and super handy. I’m willing to bet that most folks would drive out of there way to stop by. Try it, I’m sure they’ll have it!
