When I first visited Jason’s, it was another flashback in time possibly 80s feel. A jukebox at the corner with pool tables and the smell of cigarettes. As you dare to walk further in, there is another side to the bar area to sit down to eat. The owner came to greet and actually recommended his favorite… Grand slam which I tried. A foot long flat breaded steak sandwich with mozzarella and red sauce. Sweet Cole slaw and a cold beer under 12 bucks. It was amazing. They give so much. Puts some if not many of Chicago’s hipster places to shame. I heard their pizza is even better than the personally developed, owner approved sandwiches. Indiana is filled with old school restaurants like this. Entrepreneurs looking to create their slice of heaven for their core audience. A place where taste is the final consideration rather than the bottom line like all other franchises. If you want authenticity, travel outside the Chicago area and check this place out. Check out the annual Wolf Lake festival and come for the food here. You won’t be disappointed. I wasn’t. Now, all I need to hear is Aerosmith on the jukebox and I think I can Dream On! Local is better!

The pizza is pretty good there, and it’s hit or miss if the waitress is going to be courteous or not, but when you ask them to make a pizza well-done, the cooks obviously have no clue as to what that looks like, and in fact that pizza looks even more undone, would not recommend for properly cooked pizza.

The all you can eat fish on Fridays is the one thing that gets me through the week. You get a generous first portion and the rest are just as generous. The fish is flaky and tasty no matter what number order you’re on. Additionally, I’ve since tried the pizza, fried chicken, and other things on the menu. All were really good. The pork rinds aren’t cooked correctly, so I’d stay away from those, but just about everything else is perfect. Don’t miss out by not going here.

I was asked to come to this place with a friend. I’m happy that I did because her and I had a very nice time. My waiter was very nice and pleasant. She was very patient. This place has two areas smoking and non smoking. You can play pool and shoot darts you can even play a few games. Oh yeah you can even play music on the jukebox. Now how cool it that. I like the face that you have plenty of room at the bar area as well as at the booths. Very roomy washroom and fresh. As for my drinks my drinks hit the spot We ordered pizza and onion rings. I have to say that the kid size pizza was plenty for two people. It was very hot and fresh and the onion rings was so yummy and really good. I have to say this is a place that I will be back to for the great drinks and to try some other things on the menu. By the way this place has a special every day of the week. Even a fish fry on Friday’s

This is a food review. I have never sat in for drinks… They have a kitchen. Ok, I know what you are thinking… Bar food? Let me tell you that they sell pizza and it is tasty! Although it is a bit pricey(I could go down the street and get two for the same price) the pizza is delicious! The girls are very nice and my pizza is always ready for pick up at the time I am given. They have other menu items but I am sticking to this piping hot pizza that will burn your mouth but you won’t care cuz it is so good!

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. My coworkers and I ordered lunch here and it was delicious. The onion soup was excellent: you could tell they put the bread in just before they make it because it still held its shape and flavor. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad and it was wonderful! The perch dinner was also very good. All in all, I would definitely get take out here again, but I wouldn’t dine-in unless they had outdoor seating because its quite smoky inside.

After losing my shirt at the casino I was looking for a place to drink away my sorrows and Google led me to Jason’s. There were no reviews for the place and the part of town the hotel is in doesn’t appear quite so nice so I was a bit afraid I may get robbed beaten and left for dead. Fortunately my worries were quickly laid to rest. I’m not sure I would describe it as a sports bar exactly. There are tvs and a pool table and you can watch the games, but is more of a dive bar that also has tvs. Also they only have a couple beers on tap but they did have quite a few three Floyd’s in bottles. The barmaid was friendly and attentive and didn’t get flustered at my awkward and inappropriate jokes. The place probably had about 24 people in it on Friday night. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone staying at the hotels who wants a place close by to grab a couple beers and chill.
