Grew up with/in this park. It is right across from the high school. Steinert uses it a lot for cross country runs and gym walks. Take a walk through the trails and you will either come across a xc runner or a pot head trying to be sneaky.

Wonderful, well kept local park. Been coming here for years. Great place to walk the dogs or go for a jog. Love walking all the trails through the woods. Nice pond and lots of jungle gym options for kids(although I think the old wooden ones from back in the day were better!). Multiple sports fields in you’re into that sort of thing plus a skate park for the cool kids.

As the name suggests, this park is dedicated to veterans. There are memorials for all branches of the military, each one situated at one of the 4 entrances. There is also a 9 – 11 memorial with a girder from the WTC. This is not the best park for mountain biking or nature walks in the county. However, if you go off the beaten path, you will find some trails and even wildlife. But it is perfect for running, walking, and biking since there are restrooms and water fountains strategically located throughout. It also features one of the best public playgrounds in the area. There is really something for everyone in the family here, picnic space, dog park, skate park, tennis and volleyball courts, street hockey rink, and several ball fields. Go there and get active today.

It’s amazing how much Veterans Park has to offer for being a municipal park. It rivals some State Parks. At over 300 acres, Veterans Park is huge. The playground area is massive and the park even has museums. Fireworks are shot off for 4th of July and Septemberfest is held in late summer.

Not as big as Mercer County Park and not as nice as a national park, but Veterans Park is a great place for jogging, cycling and short hikes. There are entrances on all 4 sides to the park. From the west entrance, you’ll walk past a small lake where you can see geese and ducks. Just watch for the poop on the path. The north entrance is mainly for people hiking, jogging and cycling and features a fighter jet in front, just across from Steinert H.S. The east entrance is somewhat obscure while the south entrance is probably the most popular for those going to the dog park, skateboard area and ball fields.
