Always loved this place because it has great cheesesteaks. The price is not that expensive either. This last time that I went was TERRIBLE… waited a very very long time for the food. The service was really really bad. I won’t be returning anytime soon. Don’t come here expecting a meal quickly. WASTEOFTIME!

Bad service, bad food. Woman who took our order was extremely rude and when we got our food it was soggy and didn’t taste fresh. We will not be coming back to this establishment ever again.

More bad service by the short bartender. Why is it so hard to get a beer? Why is he still working here, zero personality. Honestly, the bar should have three bartenders on busy nights, it’s getting old with the bad service.

Have been to this location twice now. It will become one of my regular stops. Had the chicken & chips the 1st time & had the ribs & wings the 2nd time. Both were great. Comfortable atmosphere & good service. Reasonable prices.

Here for my second time tonight with a family group of 9. Food was good, but that is the only claim to fame. Service was poor. Grant you they were busy for a Tuesday night, but service was badly behind. Main course and salad come out at the same time. Soft drinks or water that never arrives. Veggies ordered but not served. Service just so very slow. Food good, if your willing to invest some time. One more note, both soups, sausage and tuscan bean were great.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch, well a later lunch. We ordered different items from the menu. We ordered Pierogies, wings, antipasto salad and roast pork sandwich. The Pierogies were boiled as I prefer them. It was a surprise to be asked if I wanted them boiled or fried. Served with sour cream and fried onions. I got the old bay and butter wings. Holy shit they were delicious. I would go back for more anytime. My wife had the honey bbq wings. They were good as well. My roast pork sandwich was a little dry. Not saying it is wrong or bad. Some people might like it that way. Otherwise the pork had a great flavor. The bread was good. The chopped antipasto salad was enough for 3+ people. We brought it home as leftovers. The balsamic dressing was spot on. It was surprising to have tuna salad on it and it tasted good. Plus I was able to enjoy a cold Pabst. I will be back. The place was busy so you know the food is good.

Came here because hubby decided we needed to go out during a weekday. Hey, I exercised yesterday, so what the heck. Basically, this is a neighborhood joint, but I like joints. As long as there’s cheap but tasty food, cheap booze(prices), and nice people. We come in and are greeted immediately for a table. Opted for the bar. Bartender little surly, but more like, don’t make life complicated and have me name 30 beers, than I hate my job and you two look like a… s. Go check ‘em out(the taps) let me know what you want. Frankly, i have no problem with this as hubby is being increasingly annoying with the, «What to you have?» and the 25 minutes to pick a damned beer. Look, have three drink favorites, max, and stick with those. Me? Give me a Guinness and a shot of Jack, Chardonnay for a wine, a rum and tonic for a mixed, and a margarita rocks with a shot of tequila for a sweet drink. I just want to roll my eyes when he starts with the, «Gee what’ll I have?», then picks a Blue Moon or a Shock Top — okay married way too long. On to the food. Started to order the chicken Milanese dinner,(soup or salad, side of pasta(but bartender asked if I wanted the dinner or the sammich. He described the sandwich as basically a chicken cutlet with cheese and spinach. Came on a buttered, toasted, sésame Italian bread and was tasty, with French fries and a spear of pickle. Fries could have been hotter, but can’t complain. Hubby ordered a pizza with extra garlic. Looked substantial and he said it was good. This is a neighborhood staple with an older crowd with a sprinkling of younger couples. The people are friendly, the food decent, and hey my rum and tonics were like $ 3.25 and my sammich was less than $ 7 bucks! We’ll be back. Don’t be surprised if the bartender wants to check you out when his shift is over.

My wife got the buffalo empanadas and I tried a piece and it was good. I have no complaints at all I brought my two year old son and they were very accommodating. Deff go here if trust me it looks divey but the food does not disappoint!

Food is a three and service is a one. They are busy no doubt but our waitress forgot a beer twice, everyone’s French fries, our water order, and dressing for the salad. Other than that she was on point.

I like the rice balls and the pizza is so so. What was a huge challenge to me was the service. My server literally dropped my food on the table, and never came to check back. It took me a very long time to flag down another server to have a refill on my beverage. The bartender seemed affable, taking better care of his bar clients than the servers. It seemed like they were apathetic, perhaps too young as well. You could tell they were talking about patrons right in front of them by their eyes darting towards certain tables. I would really only go back if I were craving the rice balls.

Great atmosphere for Sunday football. Dine in area shares the room with the bar, so it’s not the place for a quite dinner. Staff was pleasant and very attentive. They offered a lot of specials and food portion was good for the price.

The 4 star review is for delicious food, however, I sat at bar, and maybe because there was a big game on, the bartender was super busy so the wait to order was long, and to just ask for salt was impossible because you couldn’t get the bartender’s attention.

Today was my first time at Pete’s. I’ve heard people rant and rave about this place, but I was highly disappointed. Sat at the bar with a few friends. The bartender was an older guy, who was extremely rude and very inattentive. One of my friends did not order lunch and simply ordered a water and the bartender pretty much told her to get up and make room for people that are gonna order more than a water. Food was mediocre and took a while to come out. Took a while for our drinks to be backed up and the bar was not busy. I work in the restaurant business and I understand stuff happens, but this guy was rude to everyone. When asked questions about the menu he gave snide remarks like everyone was bothering him. Maybe he was having a bad day but I can’t say it was a good experience.

Usually love this spot. The service lately had gone downhill. They have no system. The waitresses have horrible attitudes. Tonight one actually said loudly in dining room«my customer walked out because I couldn’t handle their order F them and you know what F all of them» this was after the walk out sat for 45 minutes with no beverages, no soup or salad they ordered. The customer was wrong here. Ridiculous! Pete needs some fixing. Staff is under water

The food was delicious. Had the delmonico steak, chili, and pizza. All were wonderful. Will probably be my new go-to place for good food and good price.

The local neighborhood bar. I have lived in Hamilton for years and always drove past Pete’s. Finally I stopped in with my wife and we had a great time. Their prices are very reasonable and the food is very good. I personally enjoy the wing and rib combo. I would however stick to «bar food». We have tried various other items on their menu however we did not care for them. This place is always buys and the people are extremely nice.

This is not a fine dining establishment! This place is perfect if you are looking for good food that is inexpensive. It is exactly what it is… A steakhouse! So bar food is the primary(and best) thing on the menu. I had them cater my daughters first birthday party and all of the guests raved about the food. They were awesome, they set up everything and were on time. The restaurant is a casual fun place. ALOTOFLOCALS! Almost to the point that if you are not from Hamilton Twp they know it lol. Even though the tables are close together, you can have a private conversation because of the noise level. Parking is tight if you decide to arrive at normal lunch and dinner times. Try the cheese steak, you wont be disappointed!

I have now lunched at Pete’s Steakhouse Tavern on three occasions, and in fairness must up the rating based on the higher quality in house dishes as compared to the take out fare upon arrival at its destination. Today I went with the Brooklyn Bar Pie(Tomato Pie Style). It was steaming when it reached me; its edges scorched and underside smeared black from the heat of the oven. Nice! There was plenty of Tomato Sauce with a mildly salty taste, and mostly crisp crust with the exception of the very center of the pie which was slightly soft due to the accumulation of crushed Tomato. A moderate dose of hot pepper flakes brought it to the right spice level. I am new to the Bar Pie genre and I must admit to being quite taken with the idea. A mid-sized hand made pie, about the size of 2.5 to 3 slices of regular pizza, made with fresh ingredients and brought directly from the oven to your stool at the bar. The immediacy and intimacy of a personal pie hand crafted and oddly shaped appeals to me greatly. It feels like a gift. And, at $ 6.95, the price is right! This was a very good pie, although I ordinarily prefer a basil sweetness in my sauce, rather than the salty alternative. Aside from that, Pete’s Bar Pie is right up there with the best from JoJo’s and Ivy Tavern(in that order).

I’ve been to Pete’s Steakhouse Tavern in Hamilton Twp NJ many times. Today’s visit was to meet up with a couple of old school friends who came to town. Starting out at the bar for a beer, we moved to the dining room after all four of us arrived. Our server was pleasant and patient since we took a little long to order as we were catching up with each other’s lives. I had the classic Pete’s steak sandwich with the works, and a long-hot on the side. We all shared a stack of big, fat onion rings. After a few hours, a few more beers, a cup of coffee and some hugs all around, it was time to leave. Consistency in ingredients and preparation is why Pete’s is well known for their steak sandwiches. They are also known for their tomato pies, and a wide variety of other foods. The staff is always friendly, and usually the owner will stop to greet you as he walks the restaurant, bar and kitchen. If you’re ever in the Hamilton Township(Mercer County) NJ area, do yourself a favor and visit Pete’s Steak House Tavern. You won’t be sorry.
