The food was delicious! I got the penne vodka pasta and my husband got a chicken pizza with Alfredo sauce. The only thing that keeps us from going back was the service, and service is key! The waitress was a young girl, maybe a high student, who seemed as if she had somewhere else to be. She didn’t acknowledge us when we walked through the door, and after 5 min of standing around, we sat ourselves assuming that is what we had to do. She came over with the menus huffing about how she was supposed to seat us. While ordering, we had a couple of questions, and she didn’t seem to pleased with us. When we asked for jalapenos for the pizza, the cook came out, giving us some fresh ones he just picked from his garden! I think those 5 minutes of interaction with the man lifted our moods. Thinking about returning but unsure if we’re willing to put up with the moody waitress…

Absolutely amazing. I had the veal parmesan and crab stuffed mushrooms. Sauce was a little tangy for me and didn’t go well with the pasta but that’s all about preference. It was great with the veal. Cute little space with a friendly staff. Everyone says hello. It was so family like that I felt bad not clearing my plate completely. Would def return.

Ok, so what a great experience we had here! Phenomenal food– if you leave without eating a meatball, you’ve made a terrible mistake! Excellent service– we even loved the other patrons. Just an wonderful evening of great food and great people! Thank you!

Love their double-dough pizza! Very friendly people, good place for take-out(can get busy in the evening). Everything is good, this is the best price-to-value and widest selection I found in the area. Everything is good!

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Hamilton. All of the food here is great and the owner Gino is a great guy. My favorite things to order are the vodka rigatoni and the pasta with meat sauce. The meat balls are some of the best I’ve ever had. The pizza is also excellent, I always order a large pie with sausage and garlic. You can’t go wrong! All of the food is made from fresh ingredients and the prices are very reasonable. If you haven’t been here you don’t know what you’re missing!

I love this place! If you want homestyle italian cooking and nothing frilly this is the place. I have even used them for catering and the owner Gino is nothing but accommodating and friendly. He will bend over backwards to make it right. He comes out and checks to make sure everyones meal is to their satisfaction.

Mamma Rosa’s is my go to place for the best pizza in all of Hamilton. We ordered for the first time a tomato pie with bacon. Oh, man, that was heaven on earth! I believe the bacon was pancetta and it was just the best thing I ever had on a pizza.

My husband and I shared soup(split pea) and lasagna, and both were so, so delicious. The flavors were well-balanced, and it felt like eating food at a very talented friend’s house. :) Note that the portions ran large! We’ll definitely be back.

I’ve always had good experiences here but it only took one sour one to turn me off to Mama Rosa’s… They charged me $ 6 for the $ 3.50 two slices of pizza and a soda special that their menu advertises. When the check arrived the waitress refused to honor the special even after I said when I ordered«I’ll have the 2 slices and a coke special.» We dined it, too. So don’t trust their specials or coupons. It’s a shame they don’t care about losing a loyal and frequent customer.

Was yearning to try something new in the area, and thought I had found just the place. This restaurant rests in an old house. It’s cute and quaint. Our server was super nice. We started with a salad and cream of portabella soup. The soup was awesome. Thick, rich and full of flavor. One of the first portabella soups I didn’t have to add any salt to. The seasoning was spot on. We had an appetizer of fried calamari. The portion was large and the breading flavorful. I thought the calamari was a bit chewy, however, and the sauce with which it was served lacked flavor, we thought. At the recommendation of another review, I tried the vodka rigatoni. It was okay. The sauce was thick and again, I thought it lacked flavor. My husband had eggplant rollatini, which he orders any chance he gets. The portion was hearty and came with a plate of rigatoni, which in itself, could have been a meal. He said the eggplant was tender, but he’s had better. All in all, the meal was okay, and we will probably try the place again at some point in time.

Gino runs his shop, Mamma Rosa’s Restaurant, like he was inviting each customer into his home for a meal. The space is a converted/expanded residence from a time before zoning made such mixed uses impossible in most places. It is cozy, warm, and bright, sort of like a old summer home in Ortley Beach or Lavalette. I sat at a kitchen table and ordered what Gino suggested was one of the better things on the menu, a Chicken Parm Sandwich. It arrived about 10 minutes later; a fat breast, butterflied, with rich tomato gravy, grated cheese, on a very good oven toasted half torpedo. It was excellent and required knife and fork to be eaten without losing the back end. Gino introduced himself and we chatted about his bio and how he came to be a restauranteur. The entire experience was very personal, and it was easy to slip and stay in the embrace of your Italian grandfather’s kitchen.

This is THE most amazing Italian restaurant I have ever been to. The food is unbelievably delicious. You can never go wrong with what you order. If you love seafood with pasta, the seafood bowl is the way to go! If you like chicken or veal, you can choose any one on the menu. They also have the best soups and house salad! Very friendly staff and Gino is the owner who always makes sure he says hello in between cooking.

Note: Almost all the«bad» reviews on Unilocal are actually GLOWING reviews but the people forgot to select the stars, therefore leaving no-star reviews. Come on, guys! This place is amazing. The bread(and, honestly, everything) here is fresh and delicious. On at least a few occasions I had the chicken parm and a spinach soup which are my favorites. End up taking my leftovers home, lunch the next day is always great, too. Also: Huge cannolis!

The restaurant’s atmosphere is not romantic, but the food is fresh, homemade, and made-to-order, and that is special. The restaurant is very clean and is family-owned. The servers were attentive, friendly, and accommodating(to any dietary needs). Our beverages were kept full during our meal, which I always appreciate. The portions here are huge I went here for lunch with several coworkers, and we ordered an antipasto salad(supposedly serving 2 people). We each had 1 – 2 small plates full and there were still leftovers(I would say that it serves 4 – 6). This is one of the best, freshest antipastos that I have had– from the meats to the lettuce, everything was clearly fresh(and therefore very flavorful). We also ordered 2 pizzas, which were very large and chock full of toppings(I really like when toppings are applied generously— who wouldn’t?). The ½ tomato, ½ sausage pie was good, although the sauce wasn’t as chunky as I would expect for a tomato pie. The sausage was cut-up sausage links(not that questionable topping that you receive in some places). The white pizza with ricotta, spinach, and broccoli was delicious(and once again— so generous with the toppings!). The crust of both pies was flavorful, thin, and crispy, with just a hint of salt that really made it delicious. I will definitely be back— for lunch or dinner.

Went here because of a recommendation from a friend. Small restaurant however full of life. Its a BYOB which is always on my list. The staff was very friendly and upbeat, making you feel at home. The food was delicious!!! I had the pasta fagioli soup which was the best ever, followed by shared portion of chicken parm and egg plant parm. Amazing dessert of cheesecake with fresh homemade whipped cream. The owner was walking around and even had us taste his own homemade wine. Check it out!
