Expensive prices. I paid $ 7.80 for a tuna fish sandwich. I guess you pay for the convenience of being able to walk here if you work in American Metro Center.

The Gallery Café just opened(on July 2nd) in the American Metro Center office complex(in the same location as the previous cafeteria). As such, they are still working through the newly-opened challenges/jitters/kinks and aren’t yet a well-oiled machine. The workers are very nice and helpful, but you can tell that they are still trying to find their groove. They have a nice selection of food for different dietary lifestyles– gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, carnivores, etc. The food is separated into stations– hot entrée of the day is in the same line as the pasta and pizza– and has its own register for checkout. The sandwiches and salads seem to be together. The soups are over by the soda machine(or so I found out today). What is really missing here is signs that direct you to the different stations/options. I personally stood gawking, looking for what I wanted(and noticed many others doing the same). By the stations, they do clearly display the daily special(as well as which dietary needs are met by the option), but there is no large sign that says«sandwiches» or «salad bar» or something of the like. As people get more used to the layout, this may become unnecessary, but for right now, the staff is spending a lot of time directing patrons. So far, I have tried a seasoned and grilled portobello sandwich(which was excellent– generously stuffed), a slice of Neapolitan pizza, and the(vegetarian) cream of broccoli soup. All were tasty and of much better quality than I am used to getting at a cafeteria, which may be because of the fact that all of their food is made from scratch on-site and also because they make an effort to use locally-sourced, in-season foods. This is a great place to go and eat lunch(at the outside picnic tables or inside round tables) if you work at the American Metro Center, regardless your dietary restrictions/choices.
