This place was recommended by my bfs coworker. Far from society lived a medium-sized Egyptian restaurant near mays landing. He said it was really good so we tried it out. This place created a home-like atmosphere where the Chef and all the waiters come out to greet the customers. The staff is incredibly friendly and has really good service. The proportions are really big but the meal is worth its value. Actually, I’ve never seen anything bigger than this restaurant in my life. Lol. Other than that, the food is uniquely seasoned and great for anyone who wants an adventurer for the day. My bf and I ordered the lobster stuffed salmon and lamb stew. It was really good but I was stuffed after the soup. I get stuffed easily. However, we have left overs for the next day. ;D I would recommend this to anyone but beware of the proportion size.

The chicken cous cous was delicious. Instead of bread they bring you pita and a trio of dips– babganoush, hummus and a third spinach dip. Try the Egyptian tea!

When the Golden Pyramid closed in Egg Harbor Township I was so disappointed. Then it reopened in Mays Landing and the flavors of some of the dishes came back in my mind and I couldn’t wait to eat there again. Started with the grilled Octopus. Slightly on the tough side but the grilled taste mixed with the lemon was really flavorful. My main course was the Egyptian Flounder. The dinner comes with soup or salad and the choice for me was rather easy. I chose the salad with the house dressing; one of the great flavors I remembered. The dressing is a vinaigrette with wonderful spices(medium spice for those who don’t like spicy). The flounder came with vegetables, which are cooked to a perfect al dente. Could have used some seasoning so I added the Tahini sauce to them. The meal also came with plenty of rice which was tasty. The flounder itself was cooked perfect. Lightly battered and great with the Tahini sauce added on top. The portion sizes are large, so take home ½ so you can save room for dessert. Had the rice pudding which is wonderful. Comes with nuts and cinnamon on top and whipped cream. Always a favorite. The wait staff is friendly. The place itself is eclectic and could use some touch up.

Well, last Friday I was talking to one of my friends about trying a new Chinese restaurant but her best suggestion was in Atlantic City and having just driven home from there I asked her for another suggestion. She said, «Golden Pyramid.» Egyption food.” My wife and I grabbed the kids and decided to give it a shot. Golden Pyramid was housed i a small yellowish building in the Black Horse Pike but has been closed for several years. It has recently reopened at the site of a former strip club but don’t let that scare you. I was a bit nervous when I went in. The décor is definitely odd and the strip club carpet is still there as is the bar but we forged ahead anyway. We were greeted warmly by our waitress(the daughter of the owner) and were brought some pita accompanied by 3 dips. Hummus, which I normally hate but really enjoyed, Baba Ganoush that was out of this world and I can’t remember the 3rd one at the moment. Hmm… Anyway, we polished those off and asked for more which the server readily brought over. The only appetizer we ordered was the olives and feta cheese. A very nice starter to be sure. For dinner we ordered the Middle Eastern Delight which included Lamb Shishkabob and Egyptian Chicken with rice. This is a very good choice as you get to pick 2 different items. The Kabob was cooked well and flavorful with assorted vegetables between the lamb. I really enjoyed the Egyptian Chicken. The sauce was amazing. Very bright and fresh. The only complaint I have is only ½ of the chicken was covered with this sauce. The other ½ was covered with marinara sauce. Very odd and not mentioned on the menu. Make sure you forego the marinara. We also ordered the Egyptian Lamb Stew which was my favorite part of the night. The sauce is seasoned with curry and coriander and is just slightly on the spicy side and is served atop rice. The dish is finished with vegetables but for some reason they just felt like an afterthought. They were cooked just fine and were fresh but there were just too many of them and they were very large pieces. Just my opinion but they could use a little more knife work. All of the sauces were spot on and the dishes were well balanced and properly seasoned. I can’t wait to get back and try the Chicken Curry! Oh, I almost forgot, we also ordered the Baklava. Homemade and served warm! Don’t miss out and get down to the Golden Pyramid!

I haven’t eaten anything here yet. That’s why there are four stars. The ordering process, the menu, the gracious help from the staff, and Mohammad; the owner/chef coming out to greet me. … already made it a 4 star. It’s not a place to come if you’re in a rush, come with friends and be ready to relax and wait for your meal in a very nice atmosphere. I’m new to the area and want to try the better restaurants. My feeling is already that I have found one of the better restaurants in the area. Mohammad is gracious and went out of his way to make me feel comfortable even though I’m a ‘take out’, on a Saturday night. When he came out to introduce himself to me he said oh yes you are the Egyptian chicken no green peppers and couscous. Extremely friendly and well spoken. Check in for my next review after I eat my meal. So far, so good. changed it to 5 on my way out. Congratulations Mohammed

Enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Golden Pyramid. We tried the Egyptian Chicken, Chicken Curry & Lamb Stew. All three dishes were amazing. Each entrée was freshly prepared with a perfect blend of Mediterranean Spices. Chef Mohammad treated us to a fafael appetizer which was also amazing. This place gets two thumbs up. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of the Mediterranean.

This place is the real deal! Owner/Head Chef Mohammed is local culinary legend as well as a genuine guy who truly loves what he does and it comes through in his food. Mediterranean, Middle Eastern or Italian you can’t go wrong. Egyptian Chicken is my go to meal, however my girlfriend had the curry chicken and it was off the charts delicious as well. I may switch it up next time. Take a culinary break form the norm and check this place out!

The food was absolutely amazing. The service was excellent. We started off with warmed pita bread and humus then onto the best chicken soup I ever had. Our entrees were lamb kebabs and lamb stew. They were both flavorful and plenty. The menu is so diverse I can’t wait to try everything. Definitely worth a visit and bring your appetites.

After a long wait the Golden Pyramid has re-opened Muhammad may be the best chef in South Jersey Egyptian flounder and lamb stew were amazing. The location is off the beaten track and the place isn’t fancy, but the cuisine is outrageous.
