I’ve been seeing Dr. Josh Levitt for almost three years and it’s been that long since I hadn’t seen a regular doctor… and I don’t miss it AT ALL!
On my very first visit Josh took over an hour to get to know me… my life, my habits, my medical history… By the end, I felt like this would be the one doctor in my 30+ years that would really get to know me.
Fast forward 3 years and he IS the doctor that knows me the best and cares for me the most. Never too busy to take a call when I’m out of town and in pain. Never too busy to write an email after I visit a specialist, asking how things went or call me if I still had questions from my visit to a specialist.
Aside from the very personal attention, all the natural remedies and suggestions I’ve gotten from Dr. Josh have helped me in the short and long-​term. He’s alway thorough in explaining what he prescribes and why.
Without a doubt, the best doctor I’ve ever had and one of the reasons why I wouldn’t want to move New Haven.

Both my husband and I go to this practice. I see Dr Ritterman and he sees Dr. Josh Levitt. At risk of sounding cliché, Dr Ritterman has turned my life around! Through natural supplements, changes to diet, and acupuncture, I am managing a gastrointestinal issue that would normally require me to take a lot of intense prescription drugs. She also specializes in women’s health, and has made a world of difference with some issues in that realm. She is patient, attentive, understanding (no matter what ridiculous thing you may say), and flexible. I don’t know where I would be without her!

I have been so happy with Dr. Amanda Levitt. I find her to be down-​to-​earth, friendly, intelligent and obviously well-​read on all things medical. She told me on the first visit (which was over 45 minutes! I felt like she was really getting to know me) that she doesn’t shun all traditional medicine, and I really get the feeling that she knows both naturopathic options and conventional ones and is happy to talk to you about both. I finally feel like I have a primary care physician who cares about my «whole health». I definitely plan to bring my kids here as needs arise, too (she specializes in working with children and has three of her own). I strongly recommend a visit to this place, particularly if conventional medicine isn’t finding the root cause of your ailments.

Three cheers for the excellent staff and service here. Since their move, they’re in a larger space. Homeopathic remedies available for sale, but not pushed on you. Front desk employees are kind with directions. Dr. Ritterman gave great recommendations of other specialists to check out too. I see a wide range of patient ages here, from children to elders.

If I could give Dr. Ritterman 10 stars, I would.
First…the receptionist is very friendly and welcoming. When you first walk in, she makes sure you know you can help yourself to some water or herbal teas.
Second…Dr. Ritterman is the best! I’m sure the other doctors are great, too, but I haven’t had experience with them yet. Without getting too creepy and divulging too much information about my medical maladies, I’ll just say I’d been feeling like crud for a long time and conventional medicine was NOT helping me. With some reservation, I decided to try the naturopathic route. After one visit and a small handful of herbs and supplements, I felt better than I had in about a year! During my second visit, I had acupuncture, which also helped immensely.
Lastly, Dr. Ritterman was very understanding and personable… she’s really an asset to the natuopathic community. I can’t say enough great things about Whole Health.
PS — They take Anthem, Oxford, and Connecticare insurance (thankfully!).
