My name is Mel, I am a born-and-raised Buffalonian, and I don’t love chicken wings.(«Hello, Mel.” – Buffalonians-Who-Hate-Chicken-Wings-Anonymous Meeting, June 1, 2016). A couple of days later, and Armor Inn has changed me. This place has smoked wings that are meaty and covered in sweet-tangy barbecue sauce(awardwinning, I hear). I was encouraged to try them by one of five people that I trust in this world, and I’m still dreaming of those wings the next day. You can order ten wings for $ 11 or make it a platter with two sides for $ 14. We got the coleslaw(with a reddish sprinkle of paprika) and the heavenly, squishy, most deliciously sweet corn muffins that I’ve had since the demise of Don Pablo’s. Yes, I mean that. Amazing corn muffins. Even the service and sweet iced tea were refreshing. They have a huge back porch and live music most nights. There is a fuzzy(fake?) Buffalo head hanging in the hallway. I will make a point of passing through Hamburg again for this place, so I can hang on to my Buffalo card.

I’m giving this place three stars only because the patio is really nice in the summer and the service was good. If I was basing this off of food and drink alone it would probably receive 1 star. I ordered a mojito, which was on the drink specials menu, and it was the single worst mojito I’ve had at a restaurant. That includes bars/restaurants that don’t even include the mojito on the menu. I barely tasted the mint, it was basically rum and water. My dining companion got a bloody Mary that was also pretty boring. It tasted like vodka and tomato juice. The food wasn’t particularly bad, but it certainly wasn’t good. We got the turkey burger, which was very dry, and the steak sandwich, which was bland and overcooked. I might give this place another shot strictly for the pleasure of dining on the patio, but I might just come for drinks next time. Maybe just bottled beer.

Armor Inn Tap Room — even the name insinuates good beer, as one does not call itself a «tap room» without good beer. Unfortunately, Armor Inn’s beer selections were watered down and nearly warm. Honestly, the beer tasted just a step up from water — and I ordered a full-flavor selection that I know the taste of, Big Ditch’s Hayburner. Food is uninspired regular buffalo-meets-bbq fare. There used to be a veggie burger on the menu but it was removed, hence the only vegetarian options are salad, fries, and mac and cheese(nary a gram of healthy protein to be seen). Nice patio, but it’s not worth the money for what you get in return.

Popped by with my hubby for drinks and dinner. We are on the hot patio– no umbrellas. It was loud with talking, but no music. It was a Friday night, not too packed. We ordered beers, my hubby’s beer was flat and my second beer was incorrect. We could have ordered new ones, but oh well. The menu is basic pub grub. We ordered pulled pork nachos and they came loaded on a giant plate. I love the festive thin chips, didn’t like that it was smothered in cheese. Side salads were fine/traditional and we split a burger and regular fries. Burger was fine, nothing to write home about. Fries were tasty and they were seasoned. The experience was fine– probably a great place to hang at night with friends and grab snacks at the bar or on the patio. With so many amazing restaurants and breweries in Hamburg alone, though, this wouldn’t exactly be my first pick for date night. I am glad I tried it, but won’t be running back. Other people seemed to love it here on Unilocal and according to the packed parking lot, so I guess don’t take our word for it.

Nice rockin late nite venue for music and a brewski. I also thoroughly enjoyed the ubiquitous western New York ‘beef on weck’ piled high with tender roast beef. The kümmel weck was perfectly coated with caraway & chunky salt. If anything was less than perfect with this sandwich, it was that the horseradish was fairly mild(for my taste). The accompanying fries were good in an ample portion. Good band, a few active dancers — females only. In fact, the place appeared on this night to be a ladies hangout. No complaints from me.

Hubby ordered a draft beer and Reuben. I had a char grilled burger. Reuben was very good, my burger, well, it was charred. No seasoning at all, no flavor. Disappointed.

This place is amazing! The ambiance is so appealing and laid back. The staff was over the top great and polite! I started my meal with the seafood chowder and that was just too good for words! I had bulk pieces of shrimp and lobster in it. It was just divine! For my main meal I had the fish fry. Can I just say it should be illegal to make a fish fry that delicious? I don’t typically care for coleslaw either and even that was amazing! There wasn’t anything I would change about my experience there other than I wish I had gone here sooner!

I was surprised that the parking lot wasn’t plowed better, especially near the entrance. Our waitress was nice, but we had to remind her we needed silverware, napkins, mug for tea. I was also surprised that the waitress was in jeans and a sweatshirt/not very professional. The Onion soup was good, as were the egg rolls. The salads were just ok. I have been here before and was not impressed then, either. Not sure I will return.

The food was good, we had the bbq nachos with the pulled pork. They were good, but need more meat on them. Smoke wings were amazing. I had the special 1⁄3 ribs and smoked chicken was awesome. One person with us had the steak and pepper sandwich. She said, it was out of this world. The only bad thing about the place was they had country dance lesson and it was super loud. If you are severing dinner, you should of put the dinner people or dancers somewhere else not in the same place. Due to this we will not be returning since we had to yell our conversation across the table. Food was great atmosphere wasn’t.

We have eaten several times for lunch and dinner without incedent. This time was very disappointing. We arrived for lunch on Saturday just shy of the noon hour. The sign at the door directing us to seat ourselves. That was the problem. Every table was dirty from the night before and the music was blaring. We finally found a clean table. I asked twice to have the music lowered. Will we go back, yes but if we find the same situation, we will walk right back out.

Family friendly restaurant with great gluten free options. The outside seating was pretty scenery with a breeze. It’s very causal and great food! I will definitely come back again here!

Meh. Beautiful décor, but wait staff seemed not too happy to be working. They didn’t seem sincere. Beer was ok, but ate at outside table & everything falls through the table grate & all over your legs & feet. Food ok, not drop dead great. Considering the drive we need to travel a far distance, we probably won’t make the trek again.

We stopped by for a early dinner a while back & there seemed to be some kind of party or event going on. Though they were still seating customers in the same area for dinner. It was quite loud and obnoxious but who am I to rain on people having a great time. I am good at ignoring noise. Hubby ordered his meal and he enjoyed it– don’t remember what he got, I was too horrified by my own meal. Ribs. Now, I adore ribs… Messy, delicious, sweet and sticky ribs. Ummmm… I feel like Homer thinking about donuts. Tap room ribs. The absolute worst meal I have ever had, hands down(with possibly the exception of wings from Pizza Hut/wing street, but I blame myself for that– I live in buffalo, why on earth would I order wings from Pizza Hut?!? But I digress) The sauce on the ribs was seemingly uncooked but rather they were dipped in after being cooked. I can only describe the sauce as dollar store ketchup mixed with thickened lemon juice. I swear that describes it. No depth, no spice, no flavor… just a weird alien sauce. I will say, I would be tempted to give it another go– people seem to like this place, but for heavens sake armor tap room, ditch all the biker flyers when you walk in!

We waited 45 minutes(after ordering) for cold BBQ and undercooked fish. I wasn’t sure how it could get any worse, and then the band began to play… I’m never going back.

I went here for the first time in anticipation of their location opening in Ellicottville. My family and I took advantage of their large craft beer selection. I enjoyed their sampler of three beers to taste. We all chose burgers and wings — and all were good. Portions were large and plates could have easily been shared. The menu had lots of good choices that took us a few minutes longer than normal to choose from. I look forward too visiting again and trying more of the menu.

Went for brew fest so I can’t really review much of the Armor inn. But if war broke out I felt safe inn the building! Looking to go back and check out the food. I had a few bloody Mary’s while promoting Unilocal and they were made quite well. All in all brew fest at the armor inn was a blast. Met some cool people and everyone loved the swag for signing up for Unilocal weekly emails and oh yes the Unilocal lyyyfe gloves were hot red hot.

Stopped in for dinner to celebrate my dads birthday, not a bad visit. Not especially great either. For a quiet Tuesday night out it was good to kick back with the family and enjoy a meal together. The atmosphere was comfortable and service was friendly. I had the beef on weck which wasn’t bad. Others had BBQ ribs which were decent.

3.5÷5 Went here with the in-laws for a birthday celebration. The restaurant was pretty accommodating with our large group that included a baby and three kids. Honestly I don’t know what to write, it was just OK. Not good, not bad. Décor was very nice. I would consider having an event here or coming here during warmer temperatures to enjoy the patio. Food was OK. Again I’m not a huge fan of BBQ though. I got the brisket, not good. Dinner salad was delicious and high quality(dark greens, cucumbers etc) too bad it was tiny, like really tiny. Risotto was like mac and cheese with rice scattered in it, weird. The mac and cheese was bland. Husband’s spare ribs were OK too, very smoky. Steak fries were very good. Service was very good. Attentive but not in your face. I’d come here again but I wouldn’t seek it out.
