Bleh… what a gross park.(see pics) Where do I begin? Most of the equipment is broken and/or has been basically abandoned and left to the ravages of elements. There’s vulgar graffiti all over the playground equipment(which is apparently next to a hazardous area), lots of broken glass in the parking areas, people who just seem to randomly drive here and park… and you can tell that other then a quick mowing there is little in the way of landscaping. They’ve converted a large gated area of the park from two baseball areas(one at one time use to be a baseball field — I imagine) to a handful of small soccer areas(that’s the only thing I think they could be, since there are bleachers in the outfield area facing each other). If they ever get the funding to repair this park, here are 3 suggested solutions that I think they need to consider. First, build pathways within the park(it seems to be keeping the vandalism down at Haltom Road Park — which is mere blocks away). Second, move the playground area away from the creek(aka Hazardous Area). And finally, consider your areas needs. The Asian and Hispanic population is growing around this park, see what they would use it for. I don’t know what else to say other then recommending that(for now) you find another park then this one(Rosebud, Broadway and Oakhurst Park are far better for kids).
